Awesome video!! I can’t believe you hooked that Trevalley whilst giving a demonstration of your technique! Haha, That’s crazy! 🐟 keep up the good work, I really enjoy your videos. 💯
Haha thanks mate! I always stumble over my words when its the heat of the moment. But its all good and fun. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment ☺️
Haha man I LOVE your videos. I think you just epitomised every fisho at 9:23. "Oh I caught a fish!!!!!!!' - haha made me laugh. Our sport is so unpredictable and random. Your techniques have taught me heaps and now I'm landing fish too. Thanks bro, keep the vids coming !!!
Hey Peter, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I'm so glad my videos have helped you out. It's such a great feeling when you land a good fish on lure! Tight lines mate, cheers 👍
Hi Jason thanks for sharing all your info and knowledge on fishing. Your videos are well edited and educational especially for lure fishing. Would you mind doing a video on what you would typically carry for a landbased sesh? Eg. In your backpack or on yourself. Thanks and tight lines
awesome video man. pretty exciting to see the solid hit during ur retrieval on the lure especially those 2 gts. have you thought of flicking metal jigs from the beach for tailor or salmon? ive only done it for kahawai and its super fun
Hey mate, I've tried casting slugs out in the surf, but no luck. However I recently bought a micro jig, so I have to give it a try asap! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Bro... I fish Durban Harbour the same way! Alot of saltwater species can be found on the sand banks of the channel. Try slow pitch jigs there. I'm sure you will catch some decent fish with that technique too!
Hey Bryan, yeah more common during summer. But they turn up during winter as well. Just have to be lucky and be in fishing in the spot when they are firing. But that's pretty much all land based fishing haha 🤣 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Hey mate, 2 hours before low tide and a hour after. Try picking a day with no to little wind or wind blowing over your shoulder. Hope this helps, good luck, and thanks for watching 👍
Nice fight with angry Trevs, Jason. BTW, I was asking you about the rod last time and I ended up with Daiwa TD Hyper 1.5-3kg. It feels stiffer at the tip, which I reckon could be better for fishing plastics and I like the unique concrete grey colour - trying hard to be different on the water here, haha. But I did check the amped ii and it felt great too, as you said. Anyway, thank you for your advice. You have been very helpful! : )
Hey James Mate, nice pick! Is that clasified as a Ultra light setup? What reel are you matching this with? Thanks for watching and getting back to me regarding the rod direction you went with! 😊
@@ImJasonFish To be honest, it feels more like a 2-4 kg rod than 1.5-3 kg. The cast weight is 2-10g, which should be enough for finesse fishing. There is a lighter version in the range - 1-2 kg with a whippy tip. I paired it with my 2500 Daiwa Exceler LT. I would have bought a 2000 version if I hadn't got that one to make the combo light, but it feels pretty balanced as it is now. You should check out the new LT range, mate. The BG you are using is excellent, but those lt reels are so much lighter.
Yeah mate, I bought my BG before the LTs came out. But I love my BGs, slightly heavier with its alloy body, but tough as guts and still going strong - plenty of years left in it. Make sure you clean and service them often 👍
@@ImJasonFish I've been there that time on a high tide and got a 54cm Brassy Trevally. Never been there on the low tide though. What do you think are the differences when fishing a low tide vs a high tide? Thanks.
Very impressive mate! Solid Trev for the area. When its low tide, the fish get compacted into a smaller area to fish, so your not fishing a huge desert. But generally, some spots are accessible to fish only during low tide or high tide. I hope this makes sense haha.
Thanks Jason. Love your videos. Very honest, not just featuring your successes. Keep them coming.

Nice mate! What's your PB?

Hi man just wondering what jig head were you using?
Hey mate, I mainly used a 1/4 Oz jig head. But all fishing setups are in my video description. Hope this helps! Cheers 🍻
Hey mate how you think of the reel, planning on getting one any recommendations?
What rod are you using man?
Are you fishing the Flathead Classic in Sept?
Hey mate, see how I go. I think I'll be pretty busy in the upcoming weeks unfortunately 😥
@@ImJasonFish Fingers crossed we see you there. Keep up the good work.
Was that a #1 or 1/0 hook
