As someone who did it last year my advice would be: don’t get complacent if you speed run the first few questions as I made that mistake in Paper 1 last year (luckily it didn’t affect my grade) where I got about 4 questions done in about 10 minutes but in the end, there was one question that I didn’t manage to complete!!!!

Honestly, the best thing to do (this helped me in any exam, even the toughest ones) is to take your time and not rush the process. This made my experience with any paper (even STEP 2 and 3 questions) a lot more pleasant and definitely doable.

Done Further Maths, Maths and CS in only one year and definitely would of struggled way more with maths if it wasn't for your help! My confidence dropped heavily after that F Math paper on 25th but only one more Core Pure to go and get it out the way, rest should be okay.
Try not to let your confidence get dented by one paper - otherwise one negative experience will spread out across your whole series of papers, which shouldn’t be the case! We have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and go onto the next one! You’ve got this.

I think that it will feel more accessible than Further Maths - FM is designed with some of the highest attaining students in mind, so they really want some weird/tough questions to challenge them. Maths tends to be a bit broader as there is a broader range of students sitting it. I hope so anyway!

Hey I just wanted to say that I took p1 and p2 ial edexcel this session. I wasn't planning on taking math a level because I kept doubting myself and I was completely convinced i wouldn't do well and I even started the syllabus pretty late. I completely self studied the syllabus for both papers using your videos and I did pretty well on my exams I'm predicting to get an A in both papers. I can't find the words to thank you to be honest you're the best math teacher I've ever encountered! Thank you so much and may Allah bless you I really couldn't have done it without you!

I was just wondering mr Bicen when you solve a quadratic or cubic, do you have to show an attempt at factorising or solving or can you just put it into the equation solver?
Depends on the Q - if it says show using algebra, you have to show the factorising/quad formula step. I'd still use the calc, and then reverse the process and put those answers in factorised form!
if you hit a hard question: remember, unless you are the genius, that it's there to separate you out from the geniuses, they need a way to sort out the A stars from the rest of us. Just remember, if you're a B or an A, there will still be questions you can't do, they have the hard job for marking it. WJEC said they're raising the grade boundary really high
Up to you - I would personally do the section I know I could finish in under 1 hour first, and then switch to the other one so I have more time to think. Don’t switch your strategy on the day though, make sure you practise what you’re gonna do!
Don’t just try and cram content - you have to see how the content is assessed in exam Qs in order to convert that new learning to marks. You need to juggle new content with consolidating that content with exam Qs, otherwise you’ll have learned the content and won’t be able to get the marks that you deserve! Good luck! Keep working hard!
Try ur best. As long as you try and dont give up. If you have the revision guide that may help. And just bang out exam qs ig. Im not the most knowledgable but i think that would be decent

i'm quite sure that the papers are made a few years before they are used as actual a-levels, so i doubt the examiners have a way of making it harder specifically for the purpose of getting grades back to pre-covid levels. they should just be back to normal grade boundaries (2017, 2018, 2019) instead of the massively lowered ones of 2020 and 2021
Yeah maybe Q11 is a bit more realistic tbh! The 2022 paper had 16 questions, so you definitely want to be more than 50 marks of the paper by then, which tends to hit around Q11 area.

80% is like 100% guaranteed a star , maths has always floated around 75 ± 3% for an star but like he said we won't know till the day
