Great tutorial, and awesome video editing - love the use of the RGB soundtrack especially for the video cuts!
Thanks for the kind words, i've been doing this for 14 years haha
Another informative and fun video! I love that y'all wear the flight suits while working, like you're in the firehouse lab! Keep them coming guys!!
I love the dedication that this team puts in. Now I imagine these guys all bought the proton packs when the Haslab was active, so they spent... What was it? $400? Now if you want it from ebay you are gonna spend $1200+... Imagine paying all that money just to say, "This isn't quite good enough." It's real dedication.
Dude, thank you for the kind words. I work in gaming and all day I just get shit on. This stuff, giving back to the community is saving my sanity.
Pretty cool! Thanks for posting and keep up the excellent work!
Awesomeness!! Great video as always!! Looking forward to seeing more. 😊
The quick release is a fantastic I didn’t know was available and perfect since I don’t want to solder
Awesome video! Does this speaker need an amp or works without one?
@@davidprater8402The model we have might come with one already in it? I'm not sure actually.
If I wanted to give my self some extra slack for the speaker. Could I connect some extra length to the speaker then use solder less wire clips like from the hose upgrade?
@@Bikerscout1599 that would work.
I don’t have or plan on soldering the wires is there any benefit de-soldering over snipping the wires from the speaker?
Enthusiast will say it's a better connection, but You can get things called "quick disconnects" that don't require you to solder.
@@Gregors85 that’s the rout I was going to go, I just was unsure if when disconnecting the wires from the old speaker if it’s okay to just snip
You can snip it, just make sure you give yourself enough length, trim it as close as possible to the connection. Easy to take away than it is to add.
@@Gregors85 thanks for answering my questions man. Has someone in the Haslab group tell me I would short my pack doing it that way. So far so good though!
FYI, I have the 2.5" Dayton Audio PC68-8 from Amazon and the STL for 2.5 doesn't have holes that line up wit hte speaker.
We've noticed that the speaker mounts have 2 versions to deal with this
I got the 2.5” speaker, can I wire it up while still using the D cell batteries?
I will be getting the talent cell pack eventually
Yes, I don't see that being a problem. The whole system is designed around 5volts
hey what part of norcal are you guys from? I've been a lifelong GB fan but just started getting into modifying my haslab pack, im in norcal too
Our chapter is in the small town of Ukiah, CA.
What are these little solderless connectors called?
Lots of different names for them "Quick Disconnects."

So is that an upgraded board or the one that came stock in the pack?
Stock pack board
Okay, so my pack is still completely stock on the electronics side. I'm not that good at modifying electrical components, and I want to keep my pack stock for the most part. So, my question is, will the stock board in the pack, along with the batteries, be enough power to allow this speaker you've shown to work?
Theoretically, it should work fine without any other modifications. But I do highly recommend the keep alive mod.
so, these speakers will work with the stock sound board and power of the haslab packs? Will it be compatible with a ninja tunes board if i upgrade that later?
No sure, but it shouldn't be an issue.
Protip: stainless steel screws are less magnetic
Also, prethreat your screws into the pla
I miss the part where you actually turn it on with the new speaker so we can hear it turn on??
It's really hard to tell on camera, or hear rather the difference, it has more bass. We upgraded to a GPStar Audio Board and the speakers (x2) are super super loud.
Why didn't they turn it on vs editing the video to after they turn it on.....fail.
What?
