*What made their feud so incredible is that not only really the two biggest draws of the Attitude Era but they were also built equally at the top. It’s just a shame that the company can’t operate the same way by having to multiple megastars at the top but nowadays they think it should only be about one guy at the top which really sucks.*

Well honestly, this was an anomaly. Wrestling companies have historically operated with a solid, top guy with good people underneath. Rock and Austin stand out for being equally big as stars and being in the same era.

Yin-Yang to each other. The rock was Hollywood after he broke out of The Nation of Domination. He was going to be a star and everybody knew it. Stone Cold was pushed from the fans for being "blue collar" and an "everyman". Then you throw in the rivalry with Vince and how fans got to live out their fantasy of "taking it to the boss" vicariously through his character. It truly was a once in a lifetime event and those of us who got to see it happen in real time are the luckiest wrestling fans in the world.

Vince just could not let go of Hogan even when the steroid trial and other pressures forced his hand. And even then, he just tried to insert Luger into that Hogan role and Yokozuna into the "monster of the month" role. And he kept getting raked over the coals, every time, the moment Hogan decided to peace out for Hollywood or chase the bag in WCW. Just watch back the main event of Wrestlemania 9 and the fallout from there and how they badly they fumbled Bret, the homegrown organic crowd favorite workhorse.
