"Beautiful Girls" (David Hyde Pierce)
"Ladies Who Lunch" (Patti LuPone, Company)
"Losing My Mind" (Marin Mazzie Follies)
"The Glamorous Life" (Audra McDonald, A Little Night Music)
"Could I Leave You?" (Donna Murphy, Follies)

"I'm Still Here" (Elaine Stritch, Follies)
I actually started crying when Elaine stood up and hugged Patti after Ladies Who Lunch. It was just such a wholesome moment to witness. Elaine was kinda passing the torch of Joanne to Patti. that just makes me happy
RIP Marnie, Sondheim and Elaine
My dear friend and surrogate "Aunt" Elaine Stritch called me on the phone the night before the concert. She was nervous and we talked for some time. (We had known each other since "Sail Away" in 1961 when I played one of the kids on the cruise ship and she was the activities director.)
Needless to say, she gave a Master Class that night - and all the other women, great performers that they were, knew it.
She is incomparable. Relay my unending appreciation for her superb talents. 😘💋
Yes. I hope the other talented ladies present, despite their already incomparable talents, paid attention & learned EXACTLY how IT'S done.
That's so wonderful. I love Elaine so much, and now that we're coming up on the 10th anniversary of her passing, I just keep thinking about the mark she's made on Broadway. It wouldn't be the same without her. Wherever you are, Elaine. Thank you
Stritch made me cry, incredible performance. They were all crazy great but Stritch has never been better.
Never liked Elaine Stritch, always thought she was an asshole
Marin mazzie was 50 at this performance..... Wow!
This is my #1 favorite piece of Theatre. (The concert, though particularly this part) Every SINGLE performance is just mind-blowing, captivating, and moving.
Patti: Thrilling and hilarious.
Marin: Deliberate in every word and faithful to the subtext.
Audra: Perfect vocals and she becomes the character, she looks likes she's truly thinking through the song as she sings.
Donna: Where did she go? She 100% detached from herself. This may be my single favorite performance ever. (And hilarious, too)
Bernadette: Every time she performs this, I cry, she feels so vulnerable when she sings this song and it seems like she genuinely feels the emotions of this song. I just get lost in her performance.
Elaine: Real, she's just REAL. Need I say more?
Your response nailed it
The concert really holds up after multiple hearings. You perfectly characterize Audra MacDonald, she delivers every time
Perfectly said. Audra and Stritch were my favs
"Beautiful Girls..."love the introduction. Grazie for this Post it Showcases the best of the Best of the Sondheim Genius. I can't get enough 🎉
Thank you ladies....thank you Steve! RIP Mr Sondheim.
THANK YOU 😊
All of them sat there appreciating eachother’s performance is wonderful.
I agree, it's a very special video. I watch it all the time.
Goosebumps throughout. It’s like watching Mantle, Mays, DiMaggio, Koufax, etc..
Every song and amazing performer in this lineup are truly just amazing trailblazing iconic women. Also that moment after Ladies Who Lunch with LuPone and Stritch is historic.
One of the best displays of music I’ve ever seen
Donna was a surprise tour de force
Donna Murphy’s sigh at 13:26 says it ALL.
Can you please explain lol.
@@hezronfekitoa8296I think they mean in terms of how moving of a performer Audra is
I wish there was a recording on ITunes of Donna Murphys number. It's all amazing! RIP Sondheim, thank you for all the amazing music!
Elaine steals the SHOW
Power. Power. Power. Power. Power. Power.
Saw Patti do this song live 3 weeks ago - was other-worldly ❤
Sondheim was a genius.
The audio was amazing
So. Much. Talent. on that stage ❤
Truly formidable
The genius of Sondheim in the voices of these brilliant women - my goodness. Every performance is a master class.
I wish I had seen the Sondheim tribute concert Old Friends last year. I understand a live album will be released, but I’m not sure if it will include the complete show or not. There will also be a West End production for a limited engagement (16 weeks starting in September) where Bernadette Peters will make her West End debut! I’m SO curious how much of the song list will stay the same and who will get to sing what.
LOVE AUDRA
