I wish I had this when I was younger. I could have progressed so much faster and reached a significantly higher level. It was all trial and error, and living in a small and remote area with only 3 or 4 skaters, we had very little to go on. I’m using these videos now to refresh and increase my knowledge as I work to get back into it at just shy of 50 years old. Be thankful y’all youngsters for the amazing resources you have!

@@SkateparkLessons of course ! I will definitely donate you guys deserve it ,I have been skating the Atlanta area since my hiatus ended my 15 years off skating. I skated from 14 till around my late 30 ,s had 2 knee surgery’s and thought it was over. I skated in Brooklyn Banks area and NYC back when SHUT & Zoo York ruled NYC. I was friends with some of the best NY had to offer and I’m just glad I can be here to skate again. A lot of my friends are no longer with us. A lot of them. Anyway I share with everyone your amazing channel. It’s helped me because we didn’t have these parks that you have now so I’m gettin into it. I love it. It’s made my depression go away and encouraged me to live life again.
I meant it when I said you guys have changed my life for the better.

You guys are doing some next level humanity work. And I thank you for it.
PS. Maybe one thing you can add to your channel it’s up to you guys, but I have been skating the Atlanta area and seeing so many kids without boards and proper wheels or sometimes even shoes I saw one kid who could be the next cater Silas, he was that good And he was riding with a pair of shoes that had a whole the size of a silver dollar all the way down to his foot yet he was still skating? Also, these beautiful structures that have been created over the last 15 years seem to be not being taken care of. I would like to shine a light on these things as I am 51 years old and want to give back. It’s just a thought, but I would like to help more people as you are doing as well.
Thank one last time and soul hugs for everybody on your team..

Thanks JB,as an old fella, just riding predominantly bowls these lessons are awesome, have the basics down ,rock and rolls, rock to fakies , backside 5050s etc, but am too scared of getting injuries to progress to disasters and proper front side 5050s and grinds to tail etc ,this sought of tricks are awesome for us to master and style out so still can ride alongside with the 'ghee's at the our local park lol, thanks mate

Josh, I'm a 44 year old dad who's daughter just discovered skating. I haven't had a board for almost 30 years (turns out I can still Ollie : ) ). Your videos are helping me not be an embarrassing dad! You are definitely a natural teacher. I will absolutely donate to your dream when our budget recovers. We just dropped a few hundred at the skate shop. Until then, if you have any stickers with your logo/ RUclips, send as many as you want & I will bomb the local parks & hangouts with them. BTW I really hope you're involved in your community. You've got the ability to be an amazing mentor to the kids around you!

Fall with momentum and not fight it!
Best punchline. That's what I'm doing for years. But you made me realize what exactly I'm doing by choosing the right words!
I really appreciate that you talk about how to fall.
What I would love is a video about which obstacles/ trick are connected to which kind of injuries, and how to address recovering or prevention by working out.
For example I ripped my cruciate ligament by not knowing how to fall in a carve grind. As a result after recovering I ride bicycle a lot and also started cruising a lot with the board, because they tell you to make squads on a wigglely surface, which ultimately is pushing a skateboard.
Also stair jumping is pretty aggressive on twisting your ancles, which I would love to know a good. Exercise against.
    Great work. I subscribed!

Thanx a lot JB for this episode. I can slash grind in most transition fs and bs but now i am so excited to push it further into carve grinds, didnt even realize they exist as such even though i must have seen them many times. Question: how do you deal with an overshoot? I mean when going over the edge. What is more risky in your opinion: overshoot in BS or FS carve grind? Thanks a lot, Martijn (The Netherlands)

You’re welcome Martijn, Either way an overshoot will cause you to bail so try to get to that knee slide depending on which way you’re carving, but overshooting is rare bc it’s scary and harder to get that high up on the transition. 💙🛹💙

What's your suggestion on adjusting trucks? Having issues on locking in. Perhaps a short vid on how to adjust trucks....

I try to keep my kingpin nut flush with my kingpin but it really depends on your body weight and riding style 💙🛹💙

@@SkateparkLessons apologize....not even a please and thank you in the first message.
Tried that but was too loose so did the tighten and adjust but found that it does not feel right when carving and am having a hard time locking in my front truck.
