      By know means can u blame a video game or music etc for someone's actions but to deny the fact that being exposed to certain things can and how they can be influential is reckless thinking. And while saying that by no means am I saying it should validate treachery

      Exactly. In fact there's plenty of studies that say video games have no effect at all. Statistically the best thing you can do for your kids is make sure a mother and father are present in the household. No other factor has a more positive effect on a child.

    • @ChristopherGray00
      @ChristopherGray00 Год назад

      I grew up mostly without my father and never did any of these crimes, sure a father figure can definitely help you on a right path, but i think morals are something very basic and intrinsic to most humans at birth, even when i was 4 years old i knew it was morally wrong to drink and drive, steal a car, commit a robbery, etc.
      Some people unfortunately are just sociopaths and will take down others in order to reward themselves.

Unfortunately, and we all know it, he’ll pay a price in prison for cooperating if he did. 10 years is fair. In fairness to the defendant, being 17 is a mitigating factor. It's not an excuse but it is mitigating. 10 years is a serious punishment. He'll lose his youth. But it gives him a chance. If he's a good man when he's freed he'll still have an ability to make something of his life. Tough on crime doesn't need to mean life in prison.

      @@darianbirckett1933 yes literally everything has an effect on people, the argument here is, do video games have an appreciable affect on the behavior of people commiting criminal actions in society. And to the best of what we have been able to test it doesn't, and the very small portion of people who may be influenced by video games already have some pre existing mental condition or lack of morals that would have led to criminal behavior weather video games were involved or not.
      So to recap it's not that video games can't affect people it's that the ammount it effects society is negligible and the people who may have been Influenced are only being influenced due to some other condition weather that be mental illness or lack of morals and in the end these people would have partaken in criminal behavior anyway.

      You take the good with the bad. As a defense attorney you KNOW that some of your clients are dead-to-rights guilty, and in these cases they're usually just trying to get a lighter sentence or reduce the charges. It's like insurance, you know the hospital is going to bill eighty trillion dollars, but insurance negotiates it down to a reasonable amount and then even covers some of that lesser cost for you. Without defense attorneys everyone would get a thousand years for jaywalking. It functions like a check and balance to make sure that the government doesn't just throw the book at anyone for any reason.
      I do wonder how some of these guys handle being around such slime though. I'd eventually just start going in there and saying "he did it, throw him away forever," so it's a good thing I'm not a defense attorney. It's gotta be hard defending people you know are guiltier than sin.
