You seriously need to watch the whole video. Their set was almost 40 mins long and it was an AWARD CEREMONY, but it feels like a BTS concert. This is the most iconic live performance at an award show ever. They were flexing big time, and they were stunning. Please, please react to the whole set. We will gladly watch it with you. There is no one like BTS live.
This whole performance from top to bottom is mind blowing. But to add the fact that it’s not their concert but an award show is next level. We will definitely sit through a full reaction video of that👏🏻👏🏻 Also, someone else in the comments here broke down a background of why army was so hyped for this performance.

You need a little backstory to understand why the audience was losing it so hard.
BTS were about to take a daesang all-kill that night for the first time (album, song, artist, and record of the year). We were expecting the performance to be songs from the album that won - Map of the Soul: Persona. But we got something else too. After the VCR of RM doing Persona, the curtain came up to show BTS sitting in a classroom. When we saw the setting and heard the strings, we knew something very special was about to happen.
The concert this original performance is from happened at the very beginning of their career. And in 2019 it was not available to watch, stream, buy, or download (it is now). The only ones who had seen this stage live were people who went to their first concerts or watched any fancams from the concert. In other words, only true ARMY had ever seen it. They brought out the set, costumes, and did the original choreo from those 2013-14 shows. So we knew this was for us, and we went appropriately insane. But it was also a message, I think, to everyone else.
BTS were still considered to be unworthy of so much praise by most of the K-pop industry big-wigs, even in 2019. With this stage they said with their whole chest
"See? This isn't a fluke. We have always been good enough to take all your prizes."
It was so thrilling I cannot explain in words. I'll never forget.

you need to watch the entire 40 min 2019 MAMA performance which inlcudes this song. You will never be the same again after it. Its not a BTS concert, just an award show. Pity the artist that had to come on after their performance.💜💜💜

i know everyone is saying you should watch the entire award show performance, it is one for the history books and i dont think they themselves could even top it, but the intro instrumental you heard is actually the intro to their first studio album (dark & wild released 2014) and it is a rm solo. i think you'd appreciate the songs progression!

As much as I love listening to you hype over whoever you're reviewing, I think I love it even more when you explain the little details of stage production and live performance. I've learned so many little things I never got to know when I was on stage a million years ago, and it reminds me of how much I enjoyed it. Also I just genuinely like learning things.

There are two songs: Boy in luv - the live performance is in this video and then there is 'Boy with luv (feat. Halsey)'. When you mentioned it is one of their 'bigger' songs I think you were talking about the latter. Boy IN luv is also older (2014 I think) and Boy WITH luv is from 2019 if I remember correctly. When it come to 'Boy with luv' Taehyungie's V fancam is a must watch. It's the fancam with most views in the history of all kpop idols ever. It's a record that has never, and will never be beaten. In general Taehyung V is called 'fancam emperor' and junior idols study his fancams. Makes me so proud that our V Taehyungie who is called 'idol of idols' are such an inspiration to the younger generation.

The song has three versions: the 2013 version, the 2015 version, and the 2022 version, with slight changes in the lyrics in each version.
React to the live stage mix performances from 2015 and 2017. It is one of BTS's most incredible songs. There is also a 2022 version that BTS officially released with J. Cole's permission after nine years as part of their anthology album "Proof." The live performance of this version also exists, but I recommend the 2015 and 2017 versions.

I hope u check out the MV. After that the fits make more sense. =0p Love the eyeliner. There were a hip hop group in the early years. Bad boys for sure. =0p The more older songs u check out the more of this style you'll see. To stand out from all the other thousands of bands debuting in 2013 they worked hard on the choreo and their singing/ rapping. They worked harder than other groups and became known for their amazing stage presence and choreo. This song was on their mini EP Skool Love Affair. All of them(EPs and albums) are great. Boy In Luv was about high school boys chasing a crush on a girl.
Boy With Luv - they realize that the truest love is their relationship with ARMY. (Halsey represents ARMY here. She wasn't expected to dance, but she decided she wanted to try).
Both choreographies end with them doing "I love you" in sign language.
Halsey got a sparkly mic from the guys as a gift because she loved theirs. In return she gave them pink tennis bracelets because they friends for life. She talks to RM all the time by text. They performed together in USA on an award show in May 2019. She is the only artist from the US who asked to learn their choreo. Their choreography is no joke. In the US its easy stuff. There are behind scene vids and interviews. Halsey will not let no one diss BTS. Hope u check out the behind the scenes videos. They all are so cute together. lol.

About the song it's very close to my heart and this is literally ARMY's happy song. Halsey represents ARMY here in the song. This song is basically a letter to ARMY. As the Korean title of this song suggests, “a poem for small things.” When asked to talk about the song, RM said, “It’s about finding little joy in love, being curious about the little things, the details like what you’re eating, what you’re doing. But, most importantly, Boy With Luv is like a fan letter from BTS to ARMY. That’s the most important thing.”
It is quite interesting to think about the shift from Boy In Luv (2014) to Boy With Luv - from a young, passionate, immature love that is represented with masculine, macho-like lyrics and visuals, to a mature, ‘true’ love that is about every small thing in life and in love that is represented with feminine, reflective lyrics that are more accepting and embracing.
