"How can you read?" "My mother taught me." Even when Ben is being a wiseass he's still lying (since his mother died giving birth to him, after all). LOL
Btw the scene in the church with Ben telling Jack about doubting Thomas... it's significant. Thomas loved Jesus immensely. But he didn't believe anything til he saw it. (Man of science) He was good. Willing to die for Jesus. But he had no faith. Til near the end. 🙏
We feel your pain at the end of the episodes now, except you guys laugh 'cause you know you can choose to watch another one. We had to waaaaaaaiit a week or sometimes a couple weeks with these cliffhangers, then like nine months between seasons. Torture either way no matter how long you wait, a day, a week, a year. Hahahaha, glad you are enjoying it.
Exactly, in later seasons because of short seasons we got to know something more quickly but sometimes you had to wait a few episodes before they got back to something
Hey! I just had to message to say I love your reactions so much! I’ve watched Lost many times and it’s so good to see you guys watch and remind me of those first time feelings and emotions of this incredible series. I’m laughing with you, not at you I promise 😂
Can I just say that Hurley is amazing and a hero for buying all those seats. He just saved 70 plus lives thus preventing them from ever crashing on the Island. 😊
I think this stretch of episodes in mid-s5 is the cruellest for cliffhangers. Each subsequent episode deals with something completely different to the last episodes' ending lol
I love the end of this episode, I remember seeing it for the first time and getting more lost than anything. the next episode is mind blowing. I love your reacts
Another wonderful reaction! So excited to see your reactions coming up - the rest of the season (and series for that matter) continue to be mind-blowing!
I personally still don't like the lack of character development that carried over from the last season for the newer characters and the lack of occasional "breather" episodes, but it's indeed a wild ride (even if it probably has my least favorite finale of all 6 seasons).
@@ComeOnIsSuchAJoy Wow, I have the exact same perspective as you. I like season 4 and season 5 a little less than the other seasons (even though I still enjoy them very much): mainly because their episodes rely too heavily on action and less on the characters' depth and development. And the season 5 finale is also my least favorite. Here is why (SPOILERS AHEAD): - SPOILERS!! - You've been warned!! I love the "present time" storyline and Jacob's flashbacks, but I find the "execution" of the plot in Dharma time sloppy at moments and the motivation of certain characters rather questionable in regards to the detonation of the bomb. I dislike the fact that in the end, suddenly, all the characters agree to detonate the bomb, which is, if we think about it, a CRAZY idea to consider seriously if you want to stay a minimum reasonable (despite Faraday's certainty and all the other crazy shit that the characters have seen and gone through to believe the "extraordinary"...). Actually, the entire plot with the hydrogen bomb may be the weakest aspect of the whole show for me...It is not subtle and it is executed poorly, which is very unlike LOST. Oh, and even though it's less important, Juliet's flashbacks in the season 5 finale seem very out of place (c'mon...the episode is focused on Jacob's flashbacks!).
@@matthewfortuna3443 Here's my ranking (from least favorite to most favorite): 5. Season 4 4. Season 5 3. Season 6 2. Season 3 1. Season 1 / Season 2 (I love the first two seasons equally).
@@erawa2740 Yep. I definitely much prefer the more deliberate, leisurely pace of the first 3 seasons (1 is still the most flawless; 2 & 3 are about even for me, though I'd probably give the edge to 3, since I felt it had higher highs). Alas, several impatient-ass viewers were complaining that things were often going too slow in Seasons 2 & 3, and, as a result, they basically ended up overcorrecting themselves in the last 3 seasons, and the story often moved along TOO quickly for me -- and almost always at the expense of character. I mean, if it had occurred in the first 3 seasons, I'm fairly certain the show would've taken a moment to reflect on Danielle's death; but instead it was "Nope, we've gotta move on to the next plot point." 😔 I thought the quality control slipped a bit in these last 3 seasons, too (Charlotte's birth date gaffe being one thing; more will start coming up in the next few episodes). And the fact that we end up knowing more about Nikki and Paulo by the series' end than we do Libby, Charlotte, Frank, or Ilana remains on of my biggest gripes with the show. I'd rank this season at #4, mostly because Season 4 got somewhat screwed by that damn WGA strike and was deprived of 3-4 more episodes, and the last season would be at the bottom for me, mostly because (SPOILER)... . . . . . . . . . ... the events in the 'flash-sideways' end up being totally insignificant once the characters are 'awakened.'
Hurley is reading a magazine in spanish while waiting to board Ajira 316, titled el ultimo hombre. Translated to English is "The Last Man". Also translates to an American 2016 Movie titled Hacksaw Ridge which is based off a true story about "Desmond" T Doss an Army veteran who refused to bare arms due to his religious beliefs
If Frank had been the pilot of 815 (and he survived the crash and the monster), he probably would have been the leader rather than Jack. Not saying that's bad, but that's a different show.
Wow after all these times of watching Lost I never caught that about the significance of Charlie’s guitar case landing in the lagoon representing Charlie’s death by drowning. Good eye!
@@havok6280 It isn’t but that guitar case is a symbol of Charlie. Everytime I see it it reminds me of moments when he was playing the guitar on the island.
Haha what a great reaction at the end. Not a fan of this episode, bit if a filler type episode to move the story along but the season begins to really pick up now, can't wait for more
"We're not going to Guam, are we?"
Perfect line delivery 👌
And still a line I use when something unexpected happens. 😉
I say it every time. My favorite Lapidus line. Ever.

Yep
This is one of my favourite episodes of season 5. I loved the scene with Ben telling Jack the story of Thomas the Apostle.
"We're not going to Guam, are we?" is one of the most underrated Lost quotes. I love Frank so much.
"No no no no no... Is that it?! ... NO!!!!"
Yeah …. Every episode of season 5 is like a finale. You can really tell the story telling is accelerating to the end game. I am excited for y’all!

Yeah, Hurley is the best!
Not all heroes wear capes 😊!
@@busimagen It would for Hurley seeing how he is worth over 170 million dollars.
I'm glad I'm around the same age as R & S, I always know what pop culture references they're talking about lol. Happy Birthday! 😂
