Decided to clear this using only ops from the initial run to prove this was possible back then (I can't let 5* Defenders show up my Guards). Ya isn't anything more than a dps check so my strategy devolved into spamming ranged guards on the bottom row and aoe guards in the top row, it was quite easy (Any optimisation would be contingent on enemy spawn rng)
They make that way so ranged operator cannot block those moving enemy on the high ground. This stage having no range enemies other that the boss phase 2
IMO, I think its more effective to replace Lappland with Leto against boss since the bosses has High RES and low DEF. You can put Lappland near La Pluma and Highmore fighting some defenders. 🤔
Leto was not released until after this event first ran, and I'm only using ops from the first run of the event. Otherwise you'd be correct in that Leto would be better than Lappy here.
