- In "The Brute" by Joseph Conrad, the narrator recounts a visit to the Three Crows bar, where he encounters Miss Blank, a barmaid, and overhears a conversation about a man named Wilmot who killed a woman. The story unfolds in the bar's parlour, revealing the presence of Mr. Jermyn and Mr. Stonor, along with a stranger who dominates the conversation with his loud and cruel remarks about the incident. The atmosphere is tense and gloomy, accentuated by the rain streaming down the windows. As the discussion progresses..... won't reveal more here.
I suppose that someone who spent time on ships like Conrad did would come to sense a ship’s personality…but only Conrad should spin into such a story.
And if Conrad thought he'd ever have to suffer a soulless, expressionless narration such this, he'd never have bothered.
@@davidthomas1339I’m sick of AI narration and it’s just getting started.
great story . Love the music that begins and ends it. Would you be willing to share the name of the music.
If you find yourself looking for a good sea yarn I can highly recommend FRANK T BULLEN, to name but one, THE CRUISE OF THE CACHALOT. he wrote ripping yarns and as he was a sailor, true story`s.
Thank you. I love seafaring tales.
