I used to think Sofirn was a cheap or garbage brand. I was mistaken. I now own three, They are as good or better than anything on the market. Thanks for sharing James
It will take over the market, remember what I said. When I presented the Sofirn SC18 in a survival Facebook group a year ago, they laughed at me and told me that it was a toy compared to the Olight, without giving Sofirn a chance to check before making a conclusion. Today, in that group, every other member has Sofirn, and now it's a completely different story. Even then, I saw that the ratio of price, quality and performance was incomparable to any existing brand at that time, and believe me, I used many of them on night hikes in the mountains. :)
I have a Sofirin SP10V3 that I really like. With the 14500 LiOn battery it will do 1k lumens, but in a pinch you can use an AA battery available everywhere. It's also slimmer than this one. No magnetic tail cap, but I have thought of using epoxy to add a magnet.
Saw this on a couple channels I follow today, Sofirn must've sent out a bunch to reviewers, haha. Love the form factor, performance, and price of that, it's absolutely on my wishlist. One of the vids I saw showed it starting to burn cardboard after only a few seconds of exposure to turbo, so very cool as well as useful.
Thank you for this video, James 👍 I would like to say that most inexpensive flashlights have a light spectrum (or range, I don't know the right word) that is not quite the same as regular sunlight. For example, it can be too white, etc. In life, this will be expressed by the fact that in the dark, the objects you shine on will seem to you to be a different color than they are in ordinary life. When I had a simple flashlight, I once had to sew up clothes at night and it was difficult for me to understand the colors of the threads I needed by its light. The colors of objects are revealed better in a light spectrum that is as similar as possible to the sun. For example, if you shine a red light on objects, everything will be red, if it’s blue, then everything will be blue, and only sunlight reveals all the colors of objects completely. I hope you understand what I'm talking about. Now I have switched to Armitek. But I understand that not everyone can afford expensive flashlights and I really respect you James for talking about this too. All people are different. The issue that I am telling you about has been studied in great detail in the film industry, where the quality of the frame and video depends on the range or spectrum of studio lighting lamps. Thank you again for another video. Hugging you :)
I love my e18r , i bought it after this channel reviewed it..along with several other models that fenix makes....e18r isnt complicated to use, Great vid tho James 👍👍👍👍
My boss has been using an old AA powered mini-mag light for over forty years. It's gold colored. I ordered him a new "holster" for it like ten years ago because he doesn't buy stuff off that internet thing and he liked a leather holster for it. I myself use almost all headlamps so I can have my hands free. I had a magnet ended light for work but it just didn't work for me
I've got a couple of Sofirn, the SP10 Pro is a favorite of mine for a winter backup light (in my jacket, primary in my pants). I love the Anduril UI (no, its not complicated, unless you want it to be) and I have mine setup with a very low moonlight and a couple inbetween settings and then max blast, very practical. But I'm looking to pick this one up. I just wish moonlight would actually be sub-lumen, I absolutely love my Zebralights because of that. It's easy to underestimate very low light levels in the dark.
Thats a nice looking little flash. I'm stuck in Central America right now, so limited to whats available, but will keep that one in mind, and look for a rechargeable version. I've been a flashlight guy since the Ever ready corrugated versions in the 60's, they were the first flash light that worked more often than not. After that, I got one of the first aluminum body flashlights from REI around 1970, just a resistance bulb, but at least it was a quality unit. After that Maglites... have several of those in a box hoping for new switches. the tropics hates momentary contact push switches. Now have a Fenix diode from my son, and recently bought a quality Chinese diode rechargable here in North West Panama thats very good. Also use head lamps, with a few nicads that are probably 10 years old and still recharging. Batteries are a problem in the 3rd world, schitty quality, and even Duracels leak in the tropics. And rechargable nicads never made it here, store owners saw them as a loss of battery sales and never carried them. So everybody had to live with crappy batteries and crappy flashlights for another 30 years in heavy snake country. Count your blessings...
I only disliked the LED on this. Then they came out with a 519A version, and I was like "take my money!". Loving this minitorch, it's been my EDC since the day of arrival.
If your flashlight won't go into turbo mode anymore, try a new battery. Most of the time, that's the problem. Your battery is degraded. On the charger it may charge up to 4.2 volts while being charged. But as soon as it stops receiving the charge it won't hold that voltage. Been into these LED flashlights for 12 years or so. I have an old rigid industires halo 800 that I thought had lost its high mode. Turned put to be the battery. The light is still going strong.
Does it really come with an 18650 battery? It looks too small for that. Also for me, a long charging cable for a small flashlight is more annoying than a shorter one.
Hey !! Hi Junkyard Fox . I was unsubscribed and did not unsubscribe from your channel . I was wondering why I did not get notifications . I am back now and subscribed . I noticed that a bunch of my subscriptions were unsubscribed . It got me so angry.
Hey guys, I made a mistake, the battery is 18350, not 18650!
BUY THE SOFIRN SC13 LIGHT HERE: shorturl.at/pCET1
6:10 also you said 12 hrs instead of 1 😂 no biggie tho
Sofirn are incredibly good for the price! Not the cheap crappy ones! Quality is up to mark! I now own 4 sofirn and 2 wurkkos.
I used to think Sofirn was a cheap or garbage brand. I was mistaken. I now own three, They are as good or better than anything on the market. Thanks for sharing James
I have many Sofirn flashlights plus 2 of the one your showing . They make awesome lights in my opinion. After counting I have 8 . Great review sir 👍

That's a very impressive flashlight. I like it. Good quality for the the price. Cheers, James!
Looks like a good EDC light. Used your link and ordered one.
Nice! I will need to check this out. Thanks James for the vid.

Very cool, I agree that the clip is very important.
Thank you for this video, James 👍

I had a headlamp that had a red, white, and green light. I had no idea what a green light was for but I told my nephew I got it from the Wizard of Oz.
6:09 - I think you misspoke here. Surely it doesn't run for 12.5 hours on high, right? The text on screen says otherwise too.

Bought two of them for $9.99 each and a Sofirn Q8 Plus 16000 lumens + diffuser for $76.95.
Can we get a flashlight that stands alone AND also can mount to a handgun?
I Carry the Sofirn SC32, rechargeable with tail switch button (no magnet 🧲).

Thrunite has some good offerings in the $20 range as well
It reminds me of the plight baton

Looks awesome.
Greetings James from Apacheria in the Arizona Territories Ahe'hye'e
Is it light enough to clip on your hat?
18650 or 18350? It looks too small for 18650. Nonetheless, great review and thank you.
Ah you’re right, it is 18350
Great video
Now go outside and get your boots dirty......in the dark with a cool light😎 Thanks James.
BUY WITH CONFIDENCE. This put my Wurkkos TS10 on the shelf lol
