usually happens for a reason, not necessarily due to a design flaw but if your washer jets get clogged up or frozen and you use the washers this will happen.
What if it's visibly leaking UNDER the shroud? How do you take the should off to reconnect it?

Same issue, removing the heat shield today. Pop off the clips, make your connection. Most likely will need new clips.
For future reference shut your door next time. That beeping was wearing me out
