@@Okurka. This isn’t the air umbrella or something. They are partnered with highly respectable companies such as Munro & Associates, U.S. Capital, CPC, California Energy Commission, and others. They have math that makes sense and a manufacturing process that makes sense. I believe for the actual product itself, they may even underpromise and overdeliver. The economy is shit right now and even more so during Covid. If the economy recovers more in the next year or two we could see some even more unbelievable claims from them such as lowering the price. There are a lot of variables so of course nothing is set in stone but they will deliver their Aptera sometime relatively soon.
One of the points that made me trust Aptera to invest was that they are waiting until the first production to go IPO. I'm sure it's from bruises learned with the first try.

With wire to board connection, how would that impact repairs say when a sensor breaks? Would the boards have to be assembled to the wire harness, before the whole wire harness+board assembly is installed in the vehicle? And having some similar concern about no alternative ways to enter the vehicle apart rrom knock knock.
@@Okurka. Sure that's true and it's 8 in wider than a cyber truck but about 2ft shorter wheelbase. I don't see the issue though because it goes twice as far as a cybertruck per kWh and has enough cargo space for daily activities. They had different goals in mind

In hub motors and three wheel drive is two of the three reasons I reserved 3 Aptera. Not having in hub motors would cause me to rethink my reservations and investment.

I've had the same concern for a while now. When Kia changed their logo, people thought it was a new car brand, and that was from an established automaker. My other main concern is the knock sensor. It's cool, but if that's the only way to open the door? (Aside from the fob of course) The original Aptera had a little handle depression behind the door, and I would love for that to still be in this one, with a mechanically actuated door latch. As far as I know, there's no way to open the door from the exterior in a no power situation
Its 110 degrees near Vegas right now, Hope the A/C can keep me from melting !! And it gets cold as ice in the winter too, so hoping it can DO iT !! Love all the Sound System .... Looking forward !!

I totally love aptera. Once I can get myself one of their 1000-mile range cars, I'd be able to go down to Missouri from Minnesota to see my mom and sisters any time that I want to, and NOT when I can afford to.
When my wife and I get ours, we hope to camp in Death Valley and then drive up the Pacific Coast Highway to Bellingham, Washington, before heading back to Iowa.
I'd really like to know more about the type of wire connection they are planning to use. One huge problem with connecting individual wires is getting the order mixed up. Every connection should have a unique keyed connector to prevent incorrect connections, especially when performing repairs. Crimped pins are a frequent failure point if they are not done properly and don't have pull tests done on them, but there are much better alternatives than crimped pins. Connectors that have the wires pressed into them similar to Ethernet punch down panels are highly reliable.

i literally have ptsd from the first time aptera closed its doors many years ago, when the company ran out of money and had to close down. i cried for years. it was the most heartbreaking experience as it relates to the transportation industry, i have experienced in my life. and its the reason i always ask, when will the first vehicle be delivered. it was also heartbreaking when the previous aptera company began talking about utilizing four wheels in different design variations. my love is for the three wheeled aptera vehicle we all love and adore. we live in an entirely different world now. previously, no one knew who aptera was. now, everyone knows who aptera is. and many people that i know, and talk to, are both invested in aptera, and are on the waiting list to buy the vehicle. if aptera stays on track with delivering their first vehicles to customers as soon as is safely and reliably possible, it is clear that this company will grow to the success that elon has achieved with tesla. great work team. keep building the dream!

Aptera should add a sew on circle patch of their logo. It cam ebe white with Aptera green logo color and a green edge circle. People can put it on all sorts of clothing, computer bags, and backpacks. I have space on my mid range pack that it would fit.
Wish my Tesla Model Y had your solar panels on the glass roof. It would help eliminate phantom drain and when you are driving you can't see out of the glass roof - so it only benefits passengers in the back. Wish a solar roof was an option on the Tesla vehicles - I'm sure a lot of owners would go for it. You guys should speak to Elon.
I was a fan... The salesmanship is great and I was totally captivated by this concept... I was disappointed to hear from a reliable source that your tech isn't there yet. Good eye, I did see it. I also know they actually have a truck like that they park behind the facility next to the loading dock. I remember thinking it was closer to the In-&-Out than the workplace. /shrug
I noticed this months ago when they did the show and tell on the tub. It is asymmetrical left to right which leads me to believe it will be left hand only with this tub.

I had tea with the then Crown Prince at the Palace in Dubai around 30 years ago. The experience of traveling the world and doing environmental work gave me experiences I wouldn't trade for any amount of money. The Aptera staff will not have regrets over their time there when they look back.
So many questions in the live stream that are already answered previously, either in updates or in the FAQs on the website. Yes, there will be three hub motors for the AWD version, two in the front for all the others. On the control boards, the electrical connections are not direct soldered, they are press connections. Easy for owners to disconnect and reconnect. A heat pump is not planned for the Launch Edition (I'm glad because my Tesla heat pump cannot produce enough heat for northern winters). The off road option will mainly have more ground clearance and higher wheel pants. Yes there will be an Aptera App. If you have solar panels on the back hatch, you won't be able to see through them, but there are at least two rear-view cameras. I don't believe an all wheel drive version was ever planned for the Launch Edition. All of the solar panels are glass mounted, including the dash panel. As posted by Aptera during the live stream, all three doors will have emergency opening methods if power goes out. Finances: U.S. Capital is not a single "deal" they are going to shop the possibility of investing large amounts of money to banks and accredited investors. If the dollar raise is successful, Aptera can go to production. Finally, Aptera hasn't said this but the pricing that was estimated years ago is not likely to be the same once production begins. It will be higher, just like Tesla and other companies have done once promised new vehicles actually are produced. The Cybertruck's price increase made it impossible for me to buy one. I think that Aptera's price increases will be a smaller one.
A couple of mis-conceptions here. The LE edition was planned to be AWD. I changed my order to LE from a Paradigm because now that I live in Iowa, I need the additional control for winter driving. I am willing to be patient. We don't know yet what the drive train will be at this stage but the news should be released shortly. Long term, they still hope to have the choice of 2 or 3 Elaphe motors.
It would be nice if the 1/18 scale model of the Aptera is based on the production intent design and dimensions. It bugs me that some of Tesla's scale models are based on pre-production designs that are not true to life.
I was very disappointed with wires directly inserted into control boards. It is not conducive to automatic and mass production. Furthermore, you can see and count that it is more than twenty wires there. There is no excuse not to use connectors.
No gold contacts/connectors = connection failures. Not a place to cut cost & reliability. Salesman did a good job on these smt wire connection parts for the pc boards.
Although there has been testing of the panels on roofs, I am not sure the glass encapsulation or expense of controllers to reduce reduction in output due to shading is worth it for roof-top applications. I am sure this will be explored.
@@n.brucenelson5920 True. Solar also works great when there is some sorta battery storage unit. Not all houses have battery storage, but all electric vehicles have battery storage. There are probably a lot of other applications for their solar technology on EV's apart from three/four wheeled electric vehicles.

Can't belive how long In and Out takes... I think having a tint on the upper window will be nice to have . As far as the Alpha goes you could get a big vinyl for the back window for advertising that you can still see out of like they have on busses.
All of the LE models will have that back window covered with a large solar panel.

@@niklaswejedal463 A quadricycle has 4 wheels. The Aptera has 3 wheels and falls under the L5e classification; one of the requirements is a maximum width of 2000mm while the Aptera is 2225mm wide.
i literally have ptsd from the first time aptera closed its doors many years ago, when the company ran out of money and had to close down.
i cried for years. it was the most heartbreaking experience as it relates to the transportation industry, i have experienced in my life. and its the reason i always ask, when will the first vehicle be delivered.
it was also heartbreaking when the previous aptera company began talking about utilizing four wheels in different design variations.
my love is for the three wheeled aptera vehicle we all love and adore.
we live in an entirely different world now. previously, no one knew who aptera was. now, everyone knows who aptera is. and many people that i know, and talk to, are both invested in aptera, and are on the waiting list to buy the vehicle.
if aptera stays on track with delivering their first vehicles to customers as soon as is safely and reliably possible, it is clear that this company will grow to the success that elon has achieved with tesla.

Aptera should add a sew on circle patch of their logo. It cam ebe white with Aptera green logo color and a green edge circle. People can put it on all sorts of clothing, computer bags, and backpacks. I have space on my mid range pack that it would fit.

Wish my Tesla Model Y had your solar panels on the glass roof. It would help eliminate phantom drain and when you are driving you can't see out of the glass roof - so it only benefits passengers in the back. Wish a solar roof was an option on the Tesla vehicles - I'm sure a lot of owners would go for it. You guys should speak to Elon.
Buy a solar panel for $150 and mount it yourself.
I was a fan... The salesmanship is great and I was totally captivated by this concept... I was disappointed to hear from a reliable source that your tech isn't there yet. It was described to me to be incredibly misleading and dishonest. I'm purposely being vague... I'm hoping eventually your claims will be attainable.

I noticed this months ago when they did the show and tell on the tub. It is asymmetrical left to right which leads me to believe it will be left hand only with this tub.

I had tea with the then Crown Prince at the Palace in Dubai around 30 years ago. The experience of traveling the world and doing environmental work gave me experiences I wouldn't trade for any amount of money. The Aptera staff will not have regrets over their time there when they look back.
So many questions in the live stream that are already answered previously, either in updates or in the FAQs on the website. Yes, there will be three hub motors for the AWD version, two in the front for all the others. On the control boards, the electrical connections are not direct soldered, they are press connections. Easy for owners to disconnect and reconnect. A heat pump is not planned for the Launch Edition (I'm glad because my Tesla heat pump cannot produce enough heat for northern winters). The off road option will mainly have more ground clearance and higher wheel pants. Yes there will be an Aptera App. If you have solar panels on the back hatch, you won't be able to see through them, but there are at least two rear-view cameras. I don't believe an all wheel drive version was ever planned for the Launch Edition. All of the solar panels are glass mounted, including the dash panel. As posted by Aptera during the live stream, all three doors will have emergency opening methods if power goes out. Finances: U.S. Capital is not a single "deal" they are going to shop the possibility of investing large amounts of money to banks and accredited investors. If the dollar raise is successful, Aptera can go to production. Finally, Aptera hasn't said this but the pricing that was estimated years ago is not likely to be the same once production begins. It will be higher, just like Tesla and other companies have done once promised new vehicles actually are produced. The Cybertruck's price increase made it impossible for me to buy one. I think that Aptera's price increases will be a smaller one.
A couple of mis-conceptions here. The LE edition was planned to be AWD. I changed my order to LE from a Paradigm because now that I live in Iowa, I need the additional control for winter driving. I am willing to be patient.
We don't know yet what the drive train will be at this stage but the news should be released shortly. Long term, they still hope to have the choice of 2 or 3 Elaphe motors.

It would be nice if the 1/18 scale model of the Aptera is based on the production intent design and dimensions. It bugs me that some of Tesla's scale models are based on pre-production designs that are not true to life.

I was very disappointed with wires directly inserted into control boards. It is not conducive to automatic and mass production.
Furthermore, you can see and count that it is more than twenty wires there.
There is no excuse not to use connectors.
No gold contacts/connectors = connection failures. Not a place to cut cost & reliability. Salesman did a good job on these smt wire connection parts for the pc boards.
Are there any solar applications that can be on residential or commercial roofs?
Although there has been testing of the panels on roofs, I am not sure the glass encapsulation or expense of controllers to reduce reduction in output due to shading is worth it for roof-top applications. I am sure this will be explored.
@@n.brucenelson5920 True. Solar also works great when there is some sorta battery storage unit. Not all houses have battery storage, but all electric vehicles have battery storage. There are probably a lot of other applications for their solar technology on EV's apart from three/four wheeled electric vehicles.
