Sam & Hannah many thanks for allowing us to come on your landscape journey on the Dough Island of New Zealand... I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your vlogs... & this last one is no excepting... stunning stunning scenery & super images you can't ask more than that... Well apart from a bit better weather from those Gods... Once again Many Thanks for sharing
Hi David, thank you so much for following the journey, we really appreciate it! It was an absolutely stunning place, I hope we make it back there someday (although it would be nice to visit in the summer!). Sam
Wow! Some absolutely stunning images there. You certainly had "subtle" light in some of the locations....That's a euphemism for pouring rain from one of my pro friends!
That's brilliant, I'm going to use that term 'subtle light' from now on ;)! Thank you very much Jerry, I really appreciate that. I was a little disappointed that we didn't have better conditions, but I was really pleased with the images we came away with and it was the definitely the 'bad' weather that made them. Thanks for the comment! Sam.
Stunning images Sam and Hanna, thank you for sharing your work and the conditions you face. Many times videos show pristine settings, I really enjoy it when photographers make the most of the weather they face. Well done.
Thanks Steve, we always seem to have to deal with poor conditions, but it often makes for some of the best images! Can be a little frustrating sometimes though! S.
Thank you David! It truly was a spectacular place! Thank you for following the journey, we really appreciate it. Next week's video will be back in the UK, so not quite so spectacular I'm afraid! Sam.
Thanks Tony! Hopefully we might have the chance to go back there again someday, and I think we'll try and stay a bit longer if we do to give ourselves a better chance! It's such a stunning location, and I think some of these images were my favourites from the whole trip.
Stunning light and great images from the morning with the bit of colour. Looks like you had a good trip on balance, a good job you're not light snobs like Ewan LOL
Thanks Andrew! I think we were actually referring to ourselves when we used the term light snob in our discussion with Ewan! 😁 We certainly did quite a lot of photographing in ‘poor’ light conditions in NZ though, and it paid off occasionally! Thanks for watching! I’m hoping to get back up to Scotland later in the year to take some more images to add to the FB group 😉
Hey Hannah and Sam - That was like a full on advert for my stuff, for which im eternally grateful! It was truly lovely to meet you both and just such a pity the weather gods didnt permit a proper shoot together. I must say - the images you got there, were simply stunning. Ive remarked at the very different styles you both have form one another , but they compliment each other beautifully. Its nice to see the enjoyment you took form the location in the variety of conditions you got. If you ever come back - we will have to get out on a shoot together, if we dont meet in Durness (or Oxford) first. Many thanks to you both for the shout out, and well done on these awesome images! Kind regards, Ewan = )
Hi Ewan, and thank you so much for your comment. We really value your opinion so it means an awful lot to us! Absolutely no problem giving a shout out, it really was great to meet you and I'm just sorry we didn't have a chance to shoot together. If we come back we will definitely have to meet up for a shoot, that would be fantastic. And of course when you come back to the UK we will have to sort something out too! S.
That break in the light in the morning was well worth the trip, it looked absolutely stunning and you both captured it beautifully. Some really great work there and a thoroughly enjoyable watch. Like the end card sequence too...very nice 😊
Thanks for watching Jamie! It was a rather spectacular end to the trip, we were reluctant to leave and drive up to Christchurch when the weather had finally cleared up! That first morning with the pink clouds was truly stunning. Looking forward to catching up with you at the show this year, and we will have to rearrange that meet-up soon too! Sam
Hi Guys thanks for 5is weeks vlog, great images superb place made me feel like I was right there guess editing this brings back happy memories. Keep up the good work
Thank you David, it certainly does! One of the best things about making these videos is it keeps a great record of our journeys! Thanks for watching! Sam.
Thank you Andrew! It’s a stunning place to go, I hope you make it one day! We were a bit unlucky with the weather, but that is always the risk when going at that time of year (this was November). It was still stunning despite the rain though! Sam.
What a great thing to meet Ewan, comes across as a real nice guy and yup, fabulous photographer - love his work. Generally after the rain comes the good light and certainly you were rewarded on that sunrise shoot following your long journey - some stunning reds/pinks over those mountain peaks and the clouds added to the drama of the images. What a bummer though on the hike to Hooker lake, have seen some great images from there on social media - I don't think you would get any complaints from me taking images like that in the middle of the day !! Great watching you on your adventures.. atb Alan PS I am most likely up at TPS on the Sunday, have you picked a day for visiting yet?
Thanks Alan, yeah it was a bit of a shame not to see Mount Cook itself, but we were so pleased with the shots from that first morning, made everything completely worthwhile! What an an amazing place it was. We were also so glad we managed to meet up with Ewan, top guy and absolutely one of my favourite photographers, his work is just stunning! We'll be at TPS on both the Saturday and Sunday so would be great to see you there! Will you be in green or orange?!!! :) Sam.
A fantastic part 4 and what fantastic conditions you had the morning after the bad weather. Some really, really nice images captured from that viewpoint. Ewan popped over and said hello on my channel which was nice.👍😀 Shame that your NZ adventure is over. :-(
Thank you Julian, I think those were my favourite images from the trip (I have the panoramic printed as a 40 inch print, although I can’t find a frame large enough for it now! 😅). Glad to hear Ewan popped over to your channel, it was great to meet him out there. Hopefully he’ll make it over here to the UK sometime. Sam

Fantastic little series of vlogs guys, very high standoffs photography! Such a shame the weather held in for you that morning! Nice to see it before you left though
Thanks Tom! We were a bit unlucky with the weather at times, but then we’ve become quite used to that 😁! The whole country was just stunning though, it was an amazing trip. I was really happy with some of these photographs, those few minutes of pink clouds were worth all the hours of rain! S
Maximum load 0 People :) haha! Stunning scenerey and magnificent photos, thank you for sharing your journey, much appreciated! PS: "Fond farewell" I see what you did there!
Thanks Oddbjørn! Haha, yes that was actually a completely unintentional reference if you can believe that! Well spotted though ;) Hope you had an amazing Christmas with lots of snow! S.
Thanks Steve, we did! It is actually in the video, but the whole weekend was a complete washout apart from right at the end, we didn’t get to see Mount Cook at all, apart from a few minutes just as we had to leave so no photos of it ☹️. There is a bit in the video where we reach the end of the hooker trail and you can see what we were faced with! We’ll just have to go back another year 😉
