Mimi, don't you think one should strive for the sliver of people who stay together, work it out and do not get divorced rather than the 65% that do? Of course I'm not referring to abusive relationships, those are out of question, but why do you stay on the side of people that choose the easy route? You talk a lot about self, self, self. But love is not about self. It's about giving to the other person, and that is WHY that sliver of people who don't get divorced make it to the end together because they serve one another rather than making it all about self. I get that you're at the point of life where you feel you've achieved a lot and want more, so you decide to take a break and explore on your own. But this is where a danger of ungratefulness lies. You forget the path that brought you to this place and look for more forgetting to be grateful for what you already have. Being grateful is not just about being verbal, but it's actually valuing and cherishing. It's not about letting go. Please don't mask real love and gratitude with completely the opposite. Because the path you chose, to me sounds like the opposite of love and gratitude.

It sounds to me that she can't enjoy life and needs more and more and more. How is this different from wanting more and more and more money and never having enough?

I love this interview with Mimi. I 100% agree with her on not staying in a relationship for kids because then kids will suffer more.

I don't often comment on videos, but I have followed Mimi for years and have been saddened by her and Alex's separation. It sounds to me that her anxiety was causing her to have intrusive thoughts about a marriage that has moved on from the infatuation stage to more mature love. Rather than address her anxiety she has destroyed a perfectly good marriage. Mimi, if you do ever read these comments, I recommend that you find the work of Sheryl Paul, she is an expert on anxiety and specifically relationship anxiety. I hope you find your freedom but also find your way back to the beautiful (and I am sure, like all of us, imperfect) human that is Alex.

  •  8 месяцев назад +18

Mimi, it's honest if you talk about the end of your marriage as your own personal experience but I do not find It honest for you to validate your decision to end your marriage implying others should to. Your marriage, your experience, your decision. End of story.

Hi I posted this on other Mimi's interview, but still thought could be useful to comment: I really value all the information delivered in this episode! I´ve been a follower of Mimi for a decade now. Still, I do consider it to be important to have a trigger warning for people with Relationship Anxiety o ROCD which are really newly spoken diagnosis 🧠✨Besides, as with any diagnosis there is no shame on taking medication. Sometimes it is needed in a process to recovery so if you (who is reading this) take medication to get better, be certain that you are doing as much as you can, to get better✨

True. If you are peaceful inside, you will not start a war. But what do you do when somebody comes with a war to you? How do you protect your family and your life? Meditation is good and necessary, but so is donating to hungry children and animals, for instance, or being aware of what's happening and showing interest in the world. One does not negate the other. We can both meditate and take care of others. One can run from negative emotions and say they are being positive and peaceful, or they can face what is, whatever it is, and transform it into something positive, heading towards peace. I too sometimes run from negative emotions and news. But just because it's easier to do, it doesn't mean it's always right. It might be right sometimes, yes. But you'll never learn resillience and the ability to transform negative into positive if you constantly run inside, and only culitivate peace inside. It sounds like a major coping mechanism. When you know the circumstances are bigger than you, and you try to make the best you can, grasping at straws, to just survive and make it feel beautiful. But since one does not negate the other, we must remember to always start within and go within first. Create life from within but still caring about the outside world. It's just that our world within, our values and our love must be stronger than outside circumstances. It doesn't mean that we mustn't look at the circumstances or try to change them. We just have to do it with love and peace in mind, and start from within.
P.S. By 'you' I don't mean anybody personally.
    Great interview! Thank you ❤

See it all started with the commercial: "you are worth it". This idea started to break families apart. Hanging out with girls 95% out of your time will definitely not make you happier. It is a fase. Midlife crisis if yoi will. Just do not push your agenda on others.

What Mimi fails to mention is that single/divorced people are not happy either and want to get married. Many married people are also not happy. This is just people not having gratitude for what their situation which is ironically what Mimi preaches. Sorry Mimi but I think family is the cornerstone of human civilization and maybe you guys needed more space for individuality within the relationship. I was hoping you could set a good example for women growing into middle age but here I see you losing weight and very focused on looks, and as someone who has struggled with body image its not great to see. I wish you peace.

Great interview and thank you for sharing your personal journey. None of us here (especially in the comment section) are here to judge. If you are unhappy in the marriage, in your career, where you are in life and if you want more; who’s to stop you? Their divorce sounds like it was amicable and civilised. And yes, many people do get divorced and likewise many people do stay in a relationship because it is a co-dependency.
Personally, I can say that I found real love. I married my best friend and we have been married for 19 years. We have kids. We have a demanding life and the spark is still there.
I do like what Mimi says about manifesting positive thoughts.
Take what you will from this conversation. But I found that Mimi is just a young and curious person who is on her own personal journey and I’m wishing her and Alex all the best ❤

Maybe she is having midlife crisis, when you are getting menopause your hormones change, and you start questioning things it happened to me, she should have taken some time, separate for awhile not take rash decisions, difficult to find a good man like Alex. But i guess she is going to find out the hard way.

What a complete and utter bunch of BS from Mimi on the divorce announcement. It all sounds good and wise on the surface but on closer examination she is just a lost soul who has lost her way and doesn’t understand what is important in life anymore. She will loose what is most precious in life because she is afraid of being a victim of tradition and status quo. Her child will suffer because of this. Mimi will probably wake up someday. Most likely when Alex finds another woman who interjects herself into their life. What a mess. I listen to her and I just feel half sorry for her and half annoyed with her.

don't you think Mimi knows herself better than you do? She even said maybe this is a mistake I will look back at but this is my mistake to make if that is the case. Just because this is the way she explains it in these podcasts and online doesn't mean this is the reality, it is only what she is comfortable telling to us strangers on the internet.
