  • An Easy Method To Bring Back The Shine Of Any 2 Stroke Expansion Chamber!
Renew 2 Stroke Pipes in 40 Minutes; EASY!!! Yamaha Banshee
Here is the method I use to quickly clean up rusty expansion chambers. With more time and effort, you can make your pipes look almost new depending on the condition they're in. I spent 40 minutes on each expansion chamber and they came out pretty nice. Tools needed for the job are as follows...
Bench Buffer - Purchased at Harbor Freight ($50)
Buffing Compound, Green and White (Available on eBay or Amazon under $10)
6" Buffing Wheel - Harbor Freight
6" Soft Wire Wheel - Hardware Store or eBay/Amazon

I might be dating myself, but when I was 5 or 6 my mom took my brother and I into Sears to pick out a present for my dad. We picked out that folding B&D workmate. I inharted it from my father after he passed. I love using it for things. Want to polish up a few dirt bike pipes and will do just what you did with it. Great use!

The way I usually do it is with an Angle Die Grinder with Rolocs Discs. They are small and you can get everywhere. You can also use wire wheels on the die grinder also. I've done a few sets of pipes and they come out looking brand new. Some of the hardest pipes I've had to clean up was Paul Turner Mid Range Pipes. They have some curves pretty close together in the head pipes which makes it hard to polish them on a bench buffer. Kevin at South Texas Banshee does the same. But there's no right and wrong way to do it, its just preference.

Really hope you ended up getting the SLP pipes! They are probably going to be the pipes I go with when I build my 421 4 Mil Serval.

I got one of the wire wheels to do my pipes from tractor supply co, didn’t look exactly like the one in this video but it was a soft / fine wire wheel and did a good job on mine.

wow you never notice the direction of spinning wheel for how your doing your work for need a full face sheild to protect face. need to feed the power switch side of buffer for direction will spit dirt downward, not upward in your face as done in video. wonder why your blinking after job, the dirt in your eyes bro
