you can use the mesh to create 'fill'. you could use the solid elements operations (subtraction) to create a 'cut' volume. To work out the volume you should use a schedule, and assign it a unique surface or building material so that you can identify it.
with working to AHD, if I was working on a project that required an underground carpark how would you setup stories in that circumstance or would you use reference levels and work to that instead of project zero ?? thanks
+Robert Mann yeah thought so because the way we were taught in tafe was to have a AHD storey which doesn't make sense because when you create a storey you either go above or below that storey, so changing the reference level to a contour level makes more sense to me, thanks for that
when i was creating holes mesh suddenly disappeared from 3d and sections but visible in floor plans. i also checked renovation and 3d filtering options everything seems fine. how can i solve this problem ? Thank you
This is good, well done to archi-cad family
Thanks man I'm coming from Revit and damn is a different world.
+Robert Mann 2 Questions: How to do the fill? and how to calculate the volumes of cuts and fills?
Does Archicad a simple way for that?

Yes that`s a good way. May be in future they may have some automatic option for that; filling the space between 2 volumes. Thanks
Legend mate thank you

never use project zero to avoid getting into negative heights.
if you use real AHD's this should rarely be an issue (unless you are underwater)
