One archetype I really like was the Artificers Reanimator. Basically like the Battlesmith but more focused on necromancy and Flesh Golems. Apart of me wished Artificer had more ways to make/enhance his minion as I've always had a love for Golems. Like using parts from superior golems to enhance your own or manuals on upgrading existing ones. In Pathfinder I was able to do it with the DMs permission with Clockwork machines. It didn't last long enough to do but basically we planned for my Wizard to build his Monkey Familiar and upgrade it into a full on golem of a battle pet.
I love the green reaper ranger lore and have used them to make a tropical forest conclave in my world that my players unfortunately will have to meet and side with or against
One of my players is running a Green Reaper 4 / Assassin 3, and she deals 75 damage per round when she goes all out... I really need to up some bosses to make the party feel threatened.
These are some of my absolute favourite subclasses ever, the green reaper is so much fun and I’ve got an adventuring companion who’s about to start playing a misfortune bringer rogue
I've gota say, grimhollow is probably my favourite homebrew content on the market and I'm really looking forward to seeing what tou do with the atherial expanse, I really love player options and you bring so many cool ones. (Its also good seeing other Australians doing well for themselves) However, whenever I run with grimhollow content I always ban the vermin lord. For a ranger, sure its pretty cool. But at tables where multiclassing is allowed, which I would guess is a majority of them, I can't see it being anything other that a nightmare and I was hoping you might be able to convince me otherwise. As far as I can tell there is nothing stopping you from going into a full casting class as soon as possible, summoning ungodly numbers of swarms, and fill the board. Sure regular full casters can cast spirit guardians, fireball, wish, mass suggestion, and more, but first of all half of those require concentration, unlike any of the vermin swarms (so you can have as many as you want), and second they don't make initiative torture by having to roll 150 individual attacks. I was just wondering if you had any suggestions or ideas about how you would make sure the vermin lord doesn't slow down combat too much, thanks :).
About to join a new campaign and the DM handed me the GH Player's Guide. First thing that jumped out at me was the Misfortune Bringer. I've not played 5e since shortly after it's release, so this should be fun. Would it be possible for the Misfortune Bringer to become the "party face" if no one else steps into the role?
Definitely! They may have the same flavour as a College of Whispers Bard, spreading superstition and mistrust. Or could be smiling assassins, courteous to all they come across while invisibly wreaking misfortune!
One of my players wants to play the Highway Rider with a dragon mount for our Aetherial Expanse Pirate Campaign, but I don't know what kind of dragon he can use that will fit on our boat and make sense in the Expanse. Can anyone give me a few ideas?
A young dragon is probably the way to go. They’re ‘large’ meaning they’re about the size of a horse and could fit on the deck of a ship. Maybe an Aetherial dragon that has a swim speed in addition to a fly speed? There’s always the option to slightly homebrew and reskin another monster as well, for both size and party balance reasons.
@@GhostfireGaming Sounds good, luckily our campaign isn't due to start until next year when I get the campaign guide, so I'll have plenty of time to figure out what dragon to give him. The hard part right now is figuring out how my players will survive the shipwreck in the first session with the Expanse being quite deadly to dip into from what I heard. The shipwreck is kind of necessary for my other player who's playing a Dhampir with the Parasite Warlock Subclass. Maybe I can make Aether Slimes that will suck out the Aether Poisoning from their bodies when their bodies wash ashore, (Save for the Dhampir).
My pdf says the misfortune bringer has 3 jinx points when they get this skill. Was this a misprint? Was there a correction put out somewhere for these changes?

I love Ben’s breakdown of the subclasses and an example of how to roleplay each.
Could Vermin Lords' abilities refer to corvids such as crows and ravens rather than rodents?
If you are wanting it to have fly speed or to talk to birds that would be something to talk to your GM about otherwise it is just flavor

I have almost that exact problem with a Highway Rider in my party. 😅

It's a 3 level dip to get those swarms, pretty big investment, going to set back getting higher level spells.
What LVL game are you playing?
Im loving the green reaper ranger and how it makes poisons viable in 5e
I wonder if you could add sneak attack to the vermins attacks... Ranger/Rogue combos go well together after all
L I K E 👍👍👍👍👍 💯 ❣ 💯 ❣ 💯 🥰 🥰
We so need this on d&d beyond

@@rubyseverinwhitworth9066 thank you very much.

But there exists-appears no swarm, trust me-me
