If it's anything like the other birds on his channel, the "cutch" is laid over a set of days not all at once. So they are mostly shell-less and not hard until they get to the very end of the cycle and are laid Edit: nevermind it's confirmed in the description that it does in fact lay an egg over every few days, over more than a weeks worth of time.
These birds are so stunningly beautiful ❤🥰 & wow 7 eggs ! Amazing footage Robert thank you for all your hard work. Looking forward to following their journey 🤟
Wow!!! I don't know what to say other than poor momma! 7 big ole eggs for one tiny body. Amazing. Absolutely amazing you were able to document this at such a high quality. Bravo. Bravo indeed.
Oh wow, Robert, this is incredible incredible rare footage, I felt every push there! Stunning, can not wait to follow this family……isn’t she stunning?……thank you for the efforts you go to to get these amazing images xx❤xx
💕Wow so great to see the inside of the nest💕Just getting the camera inside the nest for all to see close ups of the mama kingfisher is absolutely amazing💕
It's insane how a bird that small can lay seven eggs! That has to be more than her entire body weight! Edit: just saw the description. It's roughly 70%, which is still absolutely insane!
Several days, lots of food needed during this time. She gets deficit of many chemical elements. If you've wondered, they eat egg shell to compensate on calcium loss.
Just like many other viewers, I am also surprised to see this bird laying 7 eggs. Out of many, king fisher is one beautiful bird I like. Thanks for sharing.
If you really want to know. Birds put shells on their cellular eggs after fertilization. aka creation of the zygote. I’d imagine her laying these 7 eggs took a lot of time. The shell secreting gland was probably covering the cellular eggs 1 at a time.
Wow for being this tiny she did pop out large eggs, almost like a small hen egg. First two seemed like one after another, but I'm sure this was time lapses, how long did it take to lay all these eggs? I just can't imagine her tiny body covering them all & keeping them all warm?
Ohh i flippin ❤kingfishers esp.the O.D.K. there so amazing lil fellas!Ive always liked the animals/critters that look alil diff!😂 wonder how many will make it this yr!hope all!!!!❤🐣
Absolutely adorable!!! After watching this video... you think again and wonder why some people still believe in "the big bang theories" without a creator.
Beautiful bird. I wonder how much time lapsed between laying eggs. Some birds take a day or more between eggs. I look forward to seeing them hatch and fledge. Thank you for sharing.
Yes they share incubation duties and feeding duties. Kingfisher dads often end up doing more as the female often starts laying a second clutch a couple of weeks after the 1st clutch hatched
I hope you've enjoyed the video!

Roughly 70%, according to the description.
I agree, I was amazed by the size and amount of the eggs. Mom needs a rest.
Feeding this large brood of seven is going to keep mom & dad super busy for weeks after hatching. More interesting videos to come
😊

She didn't literally have 7 eggs inside her at once. They are created sequentially, over a period of days.
@@marley7659 thanks for this info! I had no idea. Definitely learned something here 😁
Nice video
We love mother nature we love our planet, thank you cameraman

Yes! But note: No yelling, screaming or growling, just concentration!
You meant humans 😂
Rob, OMG she must have layer half her body weight in 7 eggs. So meant for such a tiny bird. 🥰🇦🇺
OMG such a tiny bird capable of laying so many eggs, absolutely amazing 🤩👏👏

What a fine sized clutch! Hope she doesn't loose her mind rearing that many at once!
The male dose a lot of the bringing up of the chicks the female can start laying again when her first brood are still in the nest
@@RobertEFuller Wow. That's amazing. Would the 2nd clutch be smaller? Or is there no indication of that.
I was surprised when I saw the 7 eggs ! ( I was expecting 3 or 4 eggs )
That is amazing for such a small bird !
Wow a beautiful bird and a nice big family bless her beautiful blue feathers 🪶

These eggs were laid 24 hours apart shortly after dawn within 30 minutes of 06:30
What is the time elapsed between eggs? She’s a love!
Bless her! 💙 Is seven a normal clutch size for kingfishers?
Wonderful footage again! Beautiful nesting chamber as well! Is it complete artificial?
V.v good job bro Thanks. 👍👍👍

Wow! She has a lot of work ahead of her! Feeding and caring for seven chicks! Where's papa? I hope he's helping out.
Yes they share incubation duties and feeding duties. Kingfisher dads often end up doing more as the female often starts laying a second clutch a couple of weeks after the 1st clutch hatched
@@RobertEFuller So basically the female is just a baby factory.
😍😍😍😍
She must have had a nice surprise how easy flying was after that.
