They actually changed how training goes so people aren’t having to sit and do online training for 3 days straight! We actually do trainings now that match up with each task they learn!! So they start out with training and then we get to practice! I have found it has helped new baristas!

IDK if this is Stefania's experience at all, but when I was a barista trainer, they'd kind of try to force me to help my partners do something on the floor even though they were technically supposed to be on the computer for 3 days straight. So I kind of made everything sort of fun by making the partners play on the register day one (By which I mean I'd say a drink with modifications or order coffee beans, etc and they would have to look up where in the register to find these things). I figured since they needed the experience anyway, I'd just kind of make their experience fun and a bit silly while taking the job seriously enough. I guess it's similar or same as what is done with how training is changed now, but you would know more than me: I left towards the end of 2020.
applied for 3 different starbucks 2 weeks ago, found out that a ton of people quit so i am hoping i get hired (i'm 16 and broke) i used to work at chick-fil-a and loved making drinks there absolutely HATED everything else. i definitely consider starbucks as a stepping stone to go work at a higher-quality local coffee shop, or possibly open one on my own in the future. until then, i'll just make some subpar coffees and deal with unhappy customers 😍
@@brianagonzalez5802 i work for a starbucks inside of target and it’s amazing tbh!!! i only know how to make a few drinks and still don’t know the complete difference and steps to each type of coffee and since it’s summer time most people order the cold drinks or coffees that are iced but my trainers are so good they aren’t letting me get too confused or overwhelmed. i helped close and everything i’m just still working on using the milk steamer and which drinks need blended and which ones don’t but this job is so much fun i hope i can become a good barista make it to the holiday season to wear the red apron and holiday drinks!! even if i need help with making drinks the customers usually don’t make fun of me or become rude but sometimes u can get the weird smirks from people
@@StefaniaMarzelia i love this job it could be because my trainers are so good but i’m motivated to learn about all the types of coffee and exactly how to make them. i think at first this job can seem overwhelming but once u get the hang of it, it becomes one of the most fun jobs ever. i still don’t know a lot of drinks and what the difference of each type of coffee is or even how many drinks are on the menu but i know the pink drinks and açaí refreshers and lemonades and only some of the actual coffee based ones. it’s tough but i love starbucks and my team!!

I just had my interview today these are the questions that were asked 1. So why starbucks? 2. Why did i leave my last job? (I heard from someone else say dont say anything bad about your last job and i didnt know true that was so i answered carefully. I worked at fedex so i had every right to say thay it was ass but i stll did it politely by saying "i left because i didnt feel valued as a worker") 3. Gave 2 questions pertaining to teamwork and how i helped out in whatever situation 4. How to handle a customer complaint Then he asked if i had any questions My questions were about the dress code which i think is a good question to ask even if you already understand it and then i asked if wearing my beanie was ok (its a black one with an alien emoji on it) he said hes pretty relaxed about it and said if his boss ever walked in he would give us a heads up so hes like a total lookout and pretty cool since he hired somone with 6 piercings on their face(he would tell that person to put a mask on while his boss is around) And that was my interview, he said he'll let me know if hes gonna move forward with me and if not he'll send my application to the other starbucks i applied to and give a good word to them. Which is pretty awesome! I'll let yall know what happens

I got the job!!! After three weeks I finally made the courage to go and meet her in person and she scheduled a phone “interview” for two days later but that interview was just her telling me everything about the job and asking when I can come in to start working!!! So I start the 27th!!!

I did cry once because one of the shift leads is extremely mean (she’s also brand new to it so she’s on a power trip). She just takes the job way too seriously and shouts at other baristas when they make little mistakes. Luckily she hasn’t shouted at me but like I would just be walking past her and she’s scoff or tell me to get out of the way and stuff. She was talked to about it from management though because she yelled at a new girl and said “I don’t care if they’re brand new. They need to know how I am”. Ok I recently have gotten hired at Starbucks and haven’t worked my first shift yet - I’m nervous because I was told the first two weeks of starting are going to be the toughest just having to memorize recipes and training takes about 5 hours including watching videos and learning the logistics of the register blah blah blah. I actually hate coffee drinks, but i owned a restaurant for 10 years and i made coffee and other coffee drinks that everyone loved, and my employees like my coffee too so before we open i make them a giant thermal carafe of coffee. lol I want to open like a teahouse, coffeehouse kinda laid back thing with sofas and TVs and freshly made pastries because i also like baking, so before doing that i would like to work at starbucks to expand my knowledge on coffee drinks.
Your window time starts at the window? When I worked at Dunkin, it starts when they pull up to the speaker. So they sit there deciding what they want because the speaker is at the menu and they say, it's ok there's no one behind me. Yeah, but you're still jacking up my time. Then they get their stuff and sit at the window talking or on their phone. One woman was putting peanut butter on her bagel until the manager told her to pull into a parking spot becuse of the timer.

@StefaniaMarzelia well here's an update on Monday I emailed the manager who did the interview. They told me that they didn't respond because there out sick which I completely understand and would call me on Tuesday. Tuesday comes around and they did call me at all so I emailed them again on Tuesday night and said I completely understand if there out sick that they couldn't call me. Now it's Wensday and I'm waiting to see if they will answer me I just don't want to be bothered them if there out sick.
@ldrslays ya there was a hiring event called the store on the day then they told me they moved it couldn't since had doctor appointment was sick all week. So ya that's all I email the person and they haven't emailed back.

i would say to give them a call!! it’s hard sometimes having so many applications put in, so give them a call and give them your name so they can check into your application!

@StefaniaMarzelia well here's an update on Monday I emailed the manager who did the interview. They told me that they didn't respond because there out sick which I completely understand and would call me on Tuesday. Tuesday comes around and they did call me at all so I emailed them again on Tuesday night and said I completely understand if there out sick that they couldn't call me. Now it's Wensday and I'm waiting to see if they will answer me I just don't want to be bothered them if there out sick.

@ldrslays ya there was a hiring event called the store on the day then they told me they moved it couldn't since had doctor appointment was sick all week. So ya that's all I email the person and they haven't emailed back.

i would say to give them a call!! it’s hard sometimes having so many applications put in, so give them a call and give them your name so they can check into your application!
@@paytondelgado5574 unfortunately I couldn't wait that long, even 3 weeks later I went to the local and asked for the manager, they only gave me excuses, so I'll work in another place where in 1 week I have even hours, honestly the way of starbucks is horrible for me At least the treatment they gave me was not good, but it is not the same in all places. thanks for the encouragement anyway
