I'm mostly a blues rock guitar player, my father has always played classic and Spanish guitar. Guitar playing is a family pass time for us and I would like to play Latin songs with them, my fathers favorite song is "Maria Elena", any lessons on the chords and melody? Thanks I enjoy your lessons, you are helping me play more of the music from my heritage
This tune lends it self to so many picking variations, I've been beating on it for weeks. Tons of fun. Excellent lesson. Where is "The Hub" ? It looks sooo coool.
Thank you for the great lesson! The name of the chord you call B diminished is actually B minor 7 flat 5. If it were diminished, you would need to move the 2nd fret of the G string down to the first fret.
First off, Carlos had nothing to do with writing this song. Lyrics by Rob Thomas and all music, including the guitar solo, by Itaal Shur. Santana was a guest performer and had permission to put it on one of his albums.
This is NOT how you play smooth. Please don't claim this as a "how to play" video because you are providing false information to musicians out there. If you want to release videos on hits like this then you need to be 100% ACCURATE, not try to sell your own (very basic I might add) version of it.
It’s obviously an arrangement for a classical guitar- it’s not like anyone is going to see that and expect a note-for-note clone. Music comes from the heart, and this guy Andres captures the spirit of the song, and shows you how you might do the same.
Wow! This lesson was so well done!! Thank you so much!
Please do more Santana covers! You are on a great musical journey my friend.
chuck tate you got it. Thank you!

Thanks for the class! I'm from Brazil. 🙂
