So true I’ve been thinking that for so long

vaggies voice isn’t her natural range that’s why
Vaggie’s voice actress is Stephanie Beatriz. The voice of Mirabel from Encanto. And Rosa from Brooklyn 99

I'm happy to hear Zestial sing again. I hope he will have a longer role next time.Vaggie's voice is beautiful. I like that Camilla is Zestial's biggest supporter like Vaggie is for Charlie.
When did he appear before? Helluva boss?
The background cast is well crafted it’s obvious the creators made a lot of background that would be fun to explore. I hope it can organically be shown in the show and if not maybe in other media.
@@AzizFAzizthis person is probably referring to his line in respect less. Other than this episode you can see him in the background of the pilot with carmine.
And it seems like she cares as much for him as she does her daughters, given she looked right at him shen she said she would keep them safe and the dead exorcist a secret.
@@AzizFAziz his va appeared in helluva, the character didnt tho; the person's probably referring to his role in respectless
I like to imagine for Vaggie that her singing voice is her being her true self, and the more deeper depressed voice tone is more so her having a shield up constantly, even with Charlie so she is well, her armor. To act the bravest and strongest so no one should get at them. It isn’t news that she hates herself and would self loathe, so it is also just, her mood with that voice she has around people. But being alone and singing her heart out about Charlie is her time to be soft and true, sure she could be true to herself all the time, but the different voice feels like the soft feelings she has is more so what she is really like.
Honestly my best comparison is Homura Akemi from Madoka Magica. Her natural voice is more higher and even a little bit squeaky and quiet, she was shy af. But put some time loops and trauma, she puts on a more darker persona to not be messed with, so other magical girls see she isn’t someone to push around, yet in some scenes mostly around Madoka, her voice loses that deep and precise voice she uses, almost like a mix of her when she was meek, yet with others she quickly goes back to that serious tone and face, even if she was literally crying like 2 seconds ago.
Also, I know it’s most likely because the VA’s singing range is suited better like this, but I like to imagine it that way. Also THE SONG IS SO SLEPT ON! ❤
What you say makes sense as to why Vaggie's singing was different in episode 1 compared to her singing here.
This is what I thought as well. She seems to sing naturally high as if she was an angel who fakes a deeper voice when talking
I like this interperetation! I really think Vaggie has a sweet and sensitive heart, but her life has been rough and she's had to put up an emotional wall to protect herself. But deep down she's a compassionate idealist like Charlie. They share core values and they bring out the best on one another.
@@aiiiia9971Exactly
I love your Analysis of her voice!
Honestly probably the most underrated song from the series
Yes
Nah it's perfectly rated
That's probably because Vaggie is singing a duet with someone she doesn't even know and the audience met 5 minutes ago. Beautiful song but sadly a very forgettable moment in the context of the show.
@@martiA113but it makes more sense when you finish the episode where vaggie talks to carmella carmine (I have no clue how to spell her name but you get it) and the way they’re related when you rewatch the episode where we didn’t know their similarities

Side Note: Anyone else think Vaggie and Carmilla are related somehow?
YES! I absolutely think so as well, I don't really see why else they would be singing the song together. PLUS their designs and color palettes match, it would also explain why the reason of Vaggie's death is so difficult to figure out.
I think maybe Vaggie used to work for her in the past, which is why she now has the angelic spear that we see her with all the time.
@@Sp3ckieThe main reason they were put together, I think, was because they're in a similar emotional situation, ready to do anything to protect the people they love, Vaggie for Charlie and Carmilla her daughters
Their visual similarities, their apparent strength, and their fluent use of Spanish phrases does suggest their relation or at least a shared history.
That's what I thought to like she even looks like the 2 daughters to a little
I like how confused Zestial looks when Carmilla looks at him when she's talking about losing the ones she was killing for, like he cannot comprehend that she'd be worried about HIM dying given his position as an Overlord.
Fr! It's so sweet, she actually cares for him
This song is so Disney
Vaggie’s voice actress, Stephanie Beatriz, actually played Mirabel Madrigal in Disney’s Encanto.

Everything Vaggie was singing took on whole new meaning after episode 6... and I appreciate her all the more because of it. She had been to Hell before to kill Sinners, but because she thought she had to. But when she was punished for showing mercy, her view of Hell changed after meeting Charlie. "There's so much I wish that I could say." This was a new start for Vaggie, and she was afraid of losing it so she felt she could not tell her because she felt she'd lose what she gained from it. No shit she'd try to keep that life behind her. But it's not enough to do just that. She feels she owes it to Charlie to help her and return the favor. If she can't admit to being a former enemy, she'll go through the literal hell she fought against to protect her. The reason Vaggie's part of this song is so appreciated is because it both foreshadows and accentuates the reveal. Because of this song, I know that Vaggie's past does not define her. It is who she is now, and what she does. Like Rosie said, atonement is in actions, not words. This also being Carmilla's song was great foreshadowing, contrasting how they choose to protect those they love beautifully, building up to their fight later. I hope they interact more in Season 2, they would make great friends.
Definitely a lot of emotion in this song and Carmilla is right though that instigating more violence against the angels would likely only bring more death because we still don’t know exactly how she was actually able to succeed and that was just an Exorcist, not one of the seraphim like Sera.😥
I love Zestial and Carmilla’s friendship (or perhaps more 😉) since it shows that such Overlords like them aren’t completely cold hearted/evil.❤❤❤
I hope we get to hear Zestial sing more since I’m absolutely in love with James Monroe Iglehart’s voice.🥰🥰🥰🩷🩷🩷
that is true. Carmilla will do whatever it takes to protect her daughters.
The song is good.
I'm concerned since Alastor now knows what she did thanks to the egg. I'm also concerned what will Charlie will do once she learns about a dead Exorcist.
I honestly want an operatic song from Zestial about why he's so feared (since sinners seemed scared just seeing him)
This song is so underrated, this is an instant classic. And WOW the vocals. Carmilla has such a powerful and dignified voice, and Vaggie's voice is so soothing and sweet. This is a whole treat.
I thought in "happy day in hell" vagies voice sounded a bit weird, but this is just PERFECT🤩
I honestly agree. It Happy Day in Hell it sounded like she was talking more than singing.
A lot of people are complaining her voice isn’t low enough in this song but I think dropping the character voice was the bet choice. Vaggies voice isn’t her natural range so singing in that range would strain her vocals and not sound good.
@@lilac3266Dude at that point why not just use her normal voice the whole time?! If she can’t sing as her character then she wasn’t a good casting choice
@@GR33NY because the voice director told her to sing it this way. Check her singing in encanto and she rarely uses her high range. I think they just wanted her to be a soprano. But then again singing voices not matching talking voices is common.
@@GR33NY her singing voice represents her inner voice. It's different from her normal voice because she acts tough and doesn't let her emotions be shown (in this very episode she says she was taught in a very violent environment). So when she sings, her voice is not tough but sweet, because she is letting it out. For me, perfect casting choice
I love Vaggies voice so PRETTY
Can I say this. Hearing Vaggie's dry monotone voice to listening to her sing with passion and emotion it amazes me honestly and I love it!!!

"Do whatever it takes I'll make the mistakes"
This line... brought me emotions of sacrifice.
This definitely feels like a Disney song. Carmilla singing about how she only killed that angel just to protect her family.

The true definition of Hell is not burning and torture, but to lose the hardest one possibility can. This is why it is believed that being apathetic is the best shield to surviving in Hell. The deals they all make to "protect" what little they have left to cherish, is what makes it truly Hell.

vaggie transforming into mirabel out of nowhere was an absolute jumpscare
You think Carmilla and Vaggie will ever meet?
Theory: Carmilla and Vaggie are related somehow
They share a lot of similar features. I'd say they probably are related in some way
I don't think Vaggie is the daughter because it's established that people who were born on earth and went to hell after death can't reproduce
Vaggie's reaction towards Sir Pentious buying her weapons... I reckon there is a connection
Yeah that's what i thought too, they seem like a strange choice for a duet if they don't have aything to do with eachother. Not sure where it would fit with the theory that Vaggies an angel though
So Carmilla would be a fallen Angel then?
The lines in this song are so powerful, the music really shows more than words can ever tell. The VAs really shine in these moments.
I liked seeing a bit more about how Vaggie feels regarding everything. It was such a given that she's with Charlie and supports her no matter what, but hearing her declare how she feels in song really brought her character home for me
I think the behavior between Carmilla and Zestial truly shows the difference between the elder Overlords and the new ones. New Overlords like the Vs are impulsive, power hungry, and selfish. The older Overlords are cautious, content, and tend to have more caring personal relationships.
How gently Vaggie says "Partner" is just so fricking wholesome.
I guess that Carmilla killed the angel was to protect her daughters, or somebody that is very important to her. That person is also someone she couldnt protect in her past live, possibly by her mistake to act/fight back - the reason why she didnt want blood "on my face".
Well Vagie is obviously singing about her love and devotion for Charlie/Charlie's dream. Carmilla love for that person must be similar to that love
It could be, either way she’s got good intentions inside her too
i think she meant more that she sold the weapons but never got involved in the actual violence. hence she always thought she would keep blood of her face by never being involved first hand in battle, only watching from a distance.
People hate on this song so much but I honestly love it
The part that really gets me, is Charlie sitting on her dads lap, ecstatic over his doings, when her mom comes and takes her. Lucifer giving her a reassuring smile that cracks into pure sadness the further Lilith takes her away. Utterly crushes me.
I miss my daughter so much.
Zestial, your Asmodeus is showing
i love how both carmilla and vaggies VA just are always in things together. As soon as i heard Carmilla and Vaggies voice, i thought of In The Heights
No one's talking about how amazing Vaggie's singing voice is.
That's one gorgeous singing voice, and I rarely see characters/people who have a different singing voice than their talking voice
I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I absolutely LOVE the “So I…” lines! Love the way they were delivered, everything!
VAGGIE HAS AN EYE PATCH, VAGGIE HAS AN EYE PATCH
I REPEAT, VAGGIE HAS AN EYE PATCH
To me, the note(s) Zestiel hits when he sings "soul" at 0:03 sounds kinda off/pitchy. I know the note is probably correct cuz I imagine they could have done as many takes as necessary to get it right and James Monroe Iglehart is by no means an amateur, but no matter how many times I listen to this part, it feels weird to me. Does anybody know why it may sound off but is able to explain why it is actually "tonally correct"?
It sounds like a transitional note. If you know anything about music theory, he’s going up the musical scale.
If he’s using treble clef, He’s singing an “A natural” note on the word soul while preparing for the “B flat” on the word Old, followed closely by going back down the scale to a “G natural” on the word friend.
Hope this makes sense. Sorry in advance if it doesn’t lol

that song is CRIMINALLY underrated it’s so sad.
im pretty sure they are related at this point, similar appearance, both speak spanish, shared a song, same trust issues, vaggie knows how to use many weapons which carmillas company makes? sounds related
Maybe they're both ex angels
I'm in love with this song. So beautiful, sometimes having compassion, honor comes from unexpected places. I love Hazbin Hotel. It makes one realize nothing is cut and dry . . . Good vs Evil. Sometimes it's not a question of what side you're on, but doing what's right even though what you do is ruled wrong. But, when having compassion for those that can't fight back, an inner compass kicks in, and fighting for what's really right may put you on the other side. 🦇🖤🦇🤘
Let he without sin cast the first stone
We are all sinners, and the demons of Hazbin hotel want what all people want. To love and be loved, to be understood, to be given a chance.
Hazbin is about finding love, hope, and compassion in a cynical and brutal world; that's why I like it despite how dark it can get.
Because if you look a little deeper, it has real heart

I swear I do like the actresses singing voice I’m not trying to hate on her. It’s just, when we get introduced to Vaggie her voice is kinda deep, but her singing voice sounds a bit too high. AGAIN, NOT HATING, it’s just something that I know I gotta get used to once I hear her sing more. Threw me off a bit when Vaggie started singing.
I also find this a bit off. She got a good singing voice, but I got used to Vaggie having a deep voice too
i agree. i'd elaborate more on this reply but this comment hit all the nails on the head lmao
the actress’s natural range is much higher. She drops her pitch playing vaggie but to sing in that deep voice would strain her. And it wouldn’t sound good (happy day in hell)
Yeah it’s not necessarily her fault as singing in a character voice takes skill and a good range, for whatever reason she or the team gave up on her singing in a character voice here which SUCKS but whatever I guess. I’ll probably skip this song on my second viewing of the show 😅
Stephanie Beatriz’s normal speaking voice is a lot higher when you see her in interviews
Everytime I hear this song, the next song that comes to mind immediately is 'Waiting for a miracle' from Encanto and after finding out who Vaggie's VA is... Ye, it makes sense! 😂
"You made me feel like a stranger in a brand new place"
Vaggie being a former exorcist who was left for dead, and Charlie being the one who found her and took her in.
"And it felt so good to be understood" How Vaggie felt hatred towards her own kind, having a similar feeling with Charlie.
"But there's so much I wished I could say" How Vaggie didn't tell Charlie about her actually being an angel, in fear of the impact of their relationship
"I'll be your armor" Vaggie being overprotective of Charlie, as in Episode 6, you can see how Vaggie reacts to Emily taking hold of Charlie's hands.
"And I will try to make your dreams come true" Vaggie believes in the hotel and wants to help Charlie succeed in redeeming sinners
0:50 SHE GOT HER BILLS PAID CAUSE HS THAT WAS AMAZING

Just going to say it, I really hope we get more of Zestial and Carmilla in season two, both phenomenal singers
Carmilla successfully proved that there's no force stronger, in this life or the next, than a mother's love for her children.
Says a lot about the angels, Camilla saying "when that thing attacked" they pretty much view them as beasts
The Vaggie part hits harder after her reveal
Something i like is the relatively oposite poles that similar lyrics can take, let me explain:
Carmilla is speaking about how she is willing to fight with all she could get to protect her daughters and Zestial
Vaggie is basically having a breakdown cuz she can't/ doesnt know how to tell Charlie her biggest secret
*AND THE LYRICS ARE ALMOST THE SAME-*
