Kuruk was the Water Tribe Avatar immediately succeeding Avatar Yangchen and preceding Avatar Kyoshi. Native to the Northern Water Tribe, he was a powerful and gifted bender who dreamed of changing the mortal world for the better by uniting the people and acting upon the foundations laid by Yangchen. His hopes were dashed, however, after a brutal confrontation with a dark spirit resulted in a deep spiritual corruption that began to fester within him. This clash was only the first of its kind, as an increasing number of dark spirits began to cross into the mortal realm to wreak destruction. To prevent others from being affected with the same sickness that tormented him, Kuruk opted to repeatedly face the wrathful beings on his own. Only his spiritual mentor, Nyahitha, knew about the sacrifices and loneliness he endured.

So much hate and underestimating Kuruk. We have seen few different avatar’s vs Powerful spirits, so we know koh or general old iron are definitely crazy dangerous. Okay and now think KURUK Slayed and Hunted MANY different spirits. He didn’t fight them, he crushed them. Any spirits that he felt may harm humans, which was A LOT of dark spirits because of Yang-chi’s lack of attention to the spirit world. AND REMEMBER keeping the 4 nations peaceful IS NOT THE ONLY REASON WHY THE AVATAR WAS “CREATED” . . So in conclusion Kuruk in his prime fighting or in battle was probably a Savage, and morally well uhh..

Morally he was really good too, there was nothing else he could do to pacify spirits, remember Korra?
Kuruk also invented a new airbending technique (who would have gotten tattoos if he was an Air nomad, invented liquid earthbending used by yun and jianzhu, and destroyed an island the first time he entered the avatar state

Did Kyoshi ever change physically ? Like with Toph and Katara as they aged. Technically they were around 70-80yrs old. So In avatar terms does Kyoshi age physically or only spiritually ? But looking at the avatar episode of Roku he aged physically. Therefore so would Kyoshi? How would that look ? Did she reach the peace mastery of the avatar realm? Is Ruko and Aang war and peace it seems ? Based on traditional ways having faults. The avatar spirit is passed down wisdom by connecting with spirit of our ancestors quest of the time period. Now that is a masterpiece! I still remember when I first watched Avatar. I was 9! It was surreal as a cartoon. It was so much more!!
Kyoshi didn’t age physically due to the concentrated meditation she learnt from Lao Ge her mentor. Lao Ge claimed the mediation is the closest thing to immortality as it doesn’t allow the person to age. The meditation helped keep her physical form intact and she was growing spiritually hence making her even stronger, hence the reason she lived for over 200 years and she died as a result of her stopping to meditate
