I guess it's because the people still crazy for vtubers have already gravitated towards a specific oshi (and thus only has internet hours for their oshi's streams) has been stretched to oblivion among the 70 smth holovtubers (not even mentioning the hundreds of niji ones, and oh god the indies, thousands of them) that they instead are contained to randomly materializing from stream-to-stream. And ofc the few ones that actually still manage to somehow comment on every clip at the price of being unable to participate in live streams as much.
@@ojougiggle4553 It reminds me of when youtube was small enough that a single account could constantly appear on a video people were most likely to click (eg Justin Y, Jiren in Your Recommendations, etc), and therefore seemed to be "everywhere" on youtube. And then youtube boomed with gen alphas and it turned into people being "everywhere" only in a particular subculture of youtube, especially niche ones (eg being everywhere on Undertale related youtube like Christopher Moon, being everywhere on cooking related youtube like J Kenji Lopez-alt, being everywhere on vtuber related youtube like OJOU GIGGLE or Raylight etc). Now it seems that youtube has boomed again to the point where the communities inside youtube has become as large as youtube was just 5 or 6 years ago, when people stopped being able to be everywhere on youtube. Or maybe that's just the vtubersphere of youtube in particular. I wonder if there will ever be a niche community as special as vtubers in youtube to come. As youtube becomes larger and larger it feels as if such a possibility becomes less and less possible. Nowadays youtube sometimes feel as wide as the entire internet itself.
