I made the beeswax lipstick base, from your book and followed your instructions to add tint😂 I was seriously overjoyed. I have never been able to wear lipstick. EVER. My skin is ultra sensitive and store bought, no matter the brannd dry out and badly chap my lips. I made this and I CAN WEAR LIOSTICK! I made my tint out of a few micas I purchased and now Im ready to rock and roll with an entire lipstick wardrobe. Thank you so much!
I just came across you channel! I’m obsessed!!! 😄 I love your passion and excitement!
Thanks so much, Susy! Don't forget to check out my blog (humblebeeandme.com/)-I've been blogging for 7 years while I’ve only been on RUclips for about 2, so there is TONS more content on the blog!

Have to hit that 10 minute mark. Lol

THANK YOU.
Please please please write a book or something for us people that want to learn the fundamentals of diy cosmetics! Please please please. I'd totally buy it. I haven't seen other channels talking about the importance of what they put in their products. I'm very into this because I have very sensitive skin and everything irritates it and breaks me out. You're also very articulate, and express your ideas in a simple and easy-to-follow way. Thank you!!!!
I did write it! I even mention it in this video :) www.humblebeeandme.com/make-it-up-preorder/
Good job, Marie!! Love how excited you get! I’m the same way when something FINALLY works!!
Thank you! With all the stuff that flopped this excitement was very well earned LOL :D
Thank you very much for your hard work you are helping alot of people here and you deserve alot of respect 👍
I try to buy your book but didn't find any way to send it to Egypt 😅my loss hope one day can get it😁💪
This is my first lipstick 💄 video I’ve watched, Wow very interesting and great information, you are amazing

I was about to write it. Such a boring and useless blah blah blah...
Rude. She doesn’t owe you anything and is providing incredible info for free. Have some class.
I just bought some beeswax from my local beekeeper and it smells so good!!! I'm gonna make some of your sticky coconut lip balm :)
OOoooh, lovely! Local beeswax is the best :D
I love this tutorial but I’m having a hard time with my base! I used Rice bran wax instead of beeswax and used candelilla and carnueba wax with a combination of coco caprate, hydrogenated polyisobutene, octyldodecanol, jojoba oil, Shea butter and a few other oils. The base has now hardened but when I use my finger to test the consistency it feels a bit crumbly (more like flaky) almost as if I’ve added mica powders and didn’t stir (just an example, I didn’t add any micas yet), what could be the reason?? I’ve looked ALL over to find an answer and I cannot find one! Please help lol!!!
It sounds like it is probably too hard? www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/how-can-i-make-this-thinner-softer-less-viscous/
What is the alternative to Sericite mica?
Serecite mica is a substitute for talc powder. What I would recommend is using a more natural one that is best quality. This one particularly on Aromazone... A really great online store selling so many natural ingredients, if you like making your own makeup DIY'S, and so on...

Hey .....tq so much for this recipe.... it makes amazing base.... thank you much much..🤩🤩
Thanks for watching!
Hi Marie, thanks for posting this recipe. This lipstick base make an amazing lip-balm. just had some difficulty mixing the whole thing due to lack of proper tools, while making the batch. could you please let me know, what is the name of that green tool you use for mixing?
Hi! Thank you for sharing this, I would like to try this by myself, I am new on all this, I would like to know where I can get all ingredients and utencils, please
Hi Erika! Thanks for watching :)
I always link to places to purchase all the ingredients for any given formulation in the written version of the formulation in the free partner blog post, which is linked in in the written version of the formulation in the free partner blog post the description box below the video (that's one of the many reasons I highly suggest reading the blog post as well as watching the video! If you're not sure what I mean by the "description box", read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/.).
Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. That's why I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/. It doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop.
Do you how to make transfer proof lipstick?
Hii, I have a question, if I use more liquid oil in base, doesn't it make lipstick too sticky and more breakable?
Actually I use sheabutter more than liquid oil, it gets harder but I'm scared of using more liquid oil🤦♀️
That lipstick base looks edible. YUMM!!
😋 Thanks for watching!
Excellent thanks so much Marie
I loved this video. My question is about colorants. Did you explore color mixtures first to test what the color would look like? How did you know what those three colors would look like?
I start with basic colour theory (red + yellow = orange, etc) and then experiment from there :) I think my graphic design background helps as well!
@@HumblebeeAndMe thank you so much!!! Yes, me and the color wheel are learning to get along. Again, thank you!! :)
Love this. Can't wait to try it.
Happy making!
Hello! really need your advice! I make lipstick according to your recipe, but after about a week it becomes covered with a white coating. in your book it says that her term preserves vitamin e, I do everything according to the prescription, but it does not help (((
How do i do to add fragance without losing the fragrance itself when the base is cooling up?
This base looks amazing…it can’t wait to try! Is there a recipe for a larger batch.? I’m new to your page and making base. ❤️
Hi! If you are new, please PLEASE don't make a larger batch to start with. There are details on scaling in the post, though-please read that :) Happy making!
Hi. I have tried so many of your ideas. Thank you. Here is my problem with this one. I cannot get a real red at all. They look red on the container but when I apply it- It is shear and very light. More like a lip balm. What am I doing wrong? Thank you
It sounds like you aren't using enough solid pigments-have you tried the recipes in my book? Those ones are SUPER opaque and pigmented!
do you have formula for lip tint or lip cream?
Will it work if the dyes i use are powdered dyes that i diluted in oil? And what powdered pigment can i use instead of mica since i dont want shimmers, or can i skip the powdered part?
What is the texture difference between this version and the long wear lipstick base in your book? I’d like to choose one first because I am worried if I buy too many ingredients upfront they may expire soon 😅. Thanks @humblebeeandme!
I'd say the long-wear one wears better, while this formulation can be used in a mold (the long wear one does not work with this mold). If you don't have a mold I'd start with the long wear lipstick in the book ❤️ The ingredients for the book formulations are also really useful throughout the whole book, which is another point in the "pros" column for starting there. Happy making!
Mam, how to dilute dried liquid lipsticks pls share
Isododecane is my go-to for formulations that don't contain any water. If the formula contained water please throw it away if it has dried out.
Love this ...thank u
Hi. I bought your book. What if we cant find magnesium myristate. What is the best alternative?
love it thank you for sharing
Hello, where did you brought this mold sister
I name the company in the first 25 seconds of the video :) It's also linked in the free partner blog post. Happy making!
Am gonna make these for sure 💝💝💝
Woo! Enjoy :)
I have only beeswax and food colors powder
I made lipstick same as the ingredients but it's didn't work
So is there a different ing for food color and beeswax coster and coconut oil
In g?
Hello. This base seems perfect. The base I make doesnt give me the right consistency in my colours. Need to push them again and again on the lips to take the colour you need. Can you write me the ingredients because I can't understand what excactly you are saying cause my English are not so good. I am from Greece

Can you do a video explaining what waxes are good for making lipsticks and what properties they give the lipstick? 😊
I've done quite a few blog posts on different waxes & their feels/characteristics: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/can-use-_______-wax-instead-wax-called-recipe/. I'd recommend giving those posts a read :)

What are the regulations in Alberta for selling DYI cosmetics? Will appreciate any advice. Thank you.
As far as I know there are no Alberta-specific regulations as cosmetics are under the purview of Health Canada. Their website has all the information you need :)
Wonderful
Do we have to use the soy lecithin?
Hi, Marie! I super love your vids! Would like to ask, will this work in aluminum mold? Thanksss!
I can't imagine why it wouldn't :)
I’m uk based but can’t seem to locate the dyes you are using and the mica alone does not have enough colour payoff. Also food colouring doesn’t work either. Can you tell me a brand for the dyes so I can source it in the uk. Many thanks
I'm afraid I don't know of any in particular. I have a list of suppliers on my website; perhaps start there?
can we add vitamin e oil while mixing the pigments and base. or it is necessary mix vitamin e while making lipstick base as written in your book.
You could do that, but it's pretty hard to measure out a single lipstick's worth of vitamin E :)
@@HumblebeeAndMe thank you for reply. i am making ur recipe i have some issue can i send you email as i cannot share the recipe here

Can I skip Candelilla wax in lipstick and use carnauba wax? Because candelilla wax is not available in my country?
You'll find the answer to your question in the blog post that's linked in the description box below the video ;)
I have a question! (yeah another ) is it possible to make something for the lips but with wine as the active ingredient? not necessarily whine but something with the color and the antioxidant properties and all that good stuff
If you could find a cosmetic grade ingredient or active derived from wine you could use that, but you really shouldn't use plain wine on its own-it will spoil, and that would be gross.
What about grapeseed oil for the antioxidants and some red berry liquid dye fro TKB combined with some wine-colored micas? Wine is water soluble and like Marie pointed out, it spoils, so using real wine wouldn’t work well. It might be possible to make a lip scrub or lotion that contains grape skin extract, but it’s water soluble so would require emulsifying and preservatives. Maybe powdered GSE could be included in a powdered clay mask like the kinds of recipes on Marie’s blog? Just make sure it doesn’t dye your skin red.
And I want to use the PAINT recipes that you recommended in your book. Instead of using the dyes from TKB... what are your thoughts on that?
Please don't-they're really different. That would be like using a finished cake instead of chocolate in a cookie recipe :)
Thanks for the heads up up on that. I have a lot of micas and oxide and trying to stick with ingredients that are natural. Can you direct me towards a blend where I can create a strong hard lipstick that yet goes on smooth just like store-bought and I can use my Micas and oxides to create the colors. I don’t like Matte I like full color with shimmer. Also is this the best way to ask you questions. I know you’re super busy creating however you’ve become a pioneer in lipsticks for me!
@@bellabates4512 the TKB liquid dyes are pre-dispersed in castor oil. Maybe experiment with blending powdered dyes with castor oil?
instead of using beeswax can i put the 15% into candelilla wax

I've read the blog post.. and have one question
Why castor oil? It's a very heavy one .. why not any middle or light oils?
We want lipstick to be rich and creamy, and castor oil is quite unique in its richness and how it interplays with beeswax. You'll find it in tons of lipstick recipes for that reason!
Can i add btms 50
Please don't; there's no reason to include it, and I'm unclear on if it is safe to use in lip products.

Great video. Can you please try matte lipstick base.
I'm working on a matte liquid lipstick-I've got the matte and the colour part down, now I just need it to not get on absolutely everything your lips touch, ha.
I tried adding kaolin and it does turn the lipstick matte, and it works in a liquid lipstick as well! But I'm still having a problem on the drying time of my liquid listick, looking forward to seeing how Marie alternates her recipe
@@kittycute4 how much kaolin you put on yor recipe ??
@@cahyanidewi3411 I used Red Reef clay as my colorants, so I used 1 part of Kaolin clay to 1 part of red reef clay to mattify the lipstick, you could always alternate how much you add depending on how matte you want the product is
And I have tried using the same ratio with mica, but I ended up using way more Kaolin, I think it's because the red reef clay is a mineral clay that absorbs oil 🤔🤔🤔

Hi Marie! Super excited to try this recipe. What did you use to grease the lipstick mold? Thank you!
It was some sort of liquid oil on a qtip; probably castor?
I've tried using the micanpowders and im having trouble. Can you do a video explaining how to use the powders instead of th colored drops?❤
