    I was homeschooling my 6 children 36 years ago, in the Amazon jungle. We live overseas as full time missionaries. My youngest graduated 12 years ago and I miss it. I love to see all the new resources available now! HS curriculum has come a long way! My daughter uses this same curriculum. It’s lovely!😊 God bless you and your family.

    Delilah, as a grown-up homeschooler (whose curriculum had a STRONG focus on bookwork), I had to comment and say that you have set up and thought out your homeschooling plans soo beautifully! 🥰 I love how involved you are in their schooling and how much fun you're incorporating alongside the learning. You are doing such a fantastic job! 💕🙌🏻

    We have been doing the good and the beautiful handwriting about 4 years now and both my girls have really good handwriting because of those books. I highly recommend them. Also, their preschool is really good. It has everything your talking about wanting to do with Theo without all the extra work and research. We've been enjoying that. Also remember kiwi co counts as science!

    I'm doing The Good and the Beautiful with my kindergartener right now and we love it! We did their preschool curriculum too and it's been working so well for us. Everyone in the comments saying it's a Mormon curriculum, yes the woman who created the curriculum is Mormon, but it's really vague (at least so far for us) talking about God and admiring His creation, nothing Mormon at all. And if anything comes up that's questionable, YOU are the teacher, not the book, and you can make modifications as you see fit.

    • @mktay2067
      @mktay2067 10 месяцев назад

      There is actually a lot of Mormon quotes and beliefs through it as they get older. Also the creators of the curriculum all state that all the groups involved are Christian. That is dangerous teaching that scripture tell us to not associate with. Mormons beliefs are a new gospel brought by false teaching.

    • @marievulliet8957
      @marievulliet8957 10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi 😊 Could someone explain the difference between Christian and Mormon? I thought Mormons were Christian too and I don't really understand what they say that could be "questionable" for a Christian person?

    • @TamTam-lf9ys
      @TamTam-lf9ys 10 месяцев назад

      @@marievulliet8957 Hi Marie, as far as I know, Mormonism is a sect of christianity. Unfortunately, they subscribe to many doctrinal heresies such as polyamory, the idea that we can become gods in the "celestial kingdom" reserved for dutiful mormons. They also believe that God was once a man and that He had goddess wives whom He procreated with to produce "spirit children." These are just a few examples of the anti-biblical beliefs of mormonism.

    • @Sparksoflife777
      @Sparksoflife777 3 месяца назад

      @@marievulliet8957 Yes mormons believe that once you die and Jesus comes back that you will as a christian/mormon become like God and have your own world to govern like a god and your family you had on earth will govern over the world with you and they also believe that Jesus is just a son of God and that Lucifer was also a son of God. Christians believe in the Trinity where Jesus is God and the Son of God. He was never created and always existed with God the Father. The reason He came to die for us is because we sinned against Him and He made a way for us to be restored/reconciled to God and Jesus paid the price for our sins and rose from the dead to conquor death. We believe Jesus will come again to judge the world who rejected Him and the Christians will be with Jesus forever. I know that is pretty shallow and not a great explanation but I hope that helps with the difference. We also cannot earn our way to heaven. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus. He just wants a relationship. When we accept Him He covers us in His righteousness. There is never a point that you can be good enough to earn your way to heaven since Jesus already paid that price and covered you in His righteousness. Mormons have to work for salvation. It is not just faith in Jesus.

      @@Sparksoflife777 Oh thank you for your answer! Yes it's more clear now :) although I don't believe in God or anything like that, so I guess I don't fully understand your point, but at least I know the main differences now. Thanks again for explaining!

    Grad of homeschooling(all 12 years for me) I highly recommend as your kids get older making bins for them with name, grade level, and all the work they do throughout the year. That way when the end of the year assessments come you know where everything is. As you get into middle/high school you go through so much work its good to keep it all sorted. I love seeing thought and intention put into homeschooling it makes my homeschooler heart happy :)

    Learnig without force, stress and pressure is the way to go. Our brains keep info long-term if we acquire it with interest, curiosity and personal context. School doesn't help much with that. To anyone who can make homeschooling happen somehow - I strongly recommend it. In my country it is forbidden with harsh punishment.... but I'll make it happen anyways. When you have a strong belief in sth the state can hardly stop you.

In nursery (kindergarten) where I work with kids from 1 to 6 we write for the parents what we did that day and what they learned.I think its better the to plan before because then you have already a straight plan what they have to learn ..

    Delilah, I would love to be your "student" ;) Homeschool is very rare in Slovenia. We don't have a variety of curriculums available, also with one salary it is very difficult for families to make it through the month... That is why most of our children go to public school. I myself had good experiences with it (my mum was also a teacher at my school and she taught me Slovenian for 4 years - a funny experience). The advantage of our system is that we have paid maternity leave and can devote the first year entirely to the baby. If I had the chance, I would be at home with my children at least until they were three years old.
    My question is, what specifically is the christian part in the curriculum?

    Is it allowed in Canada (or maybe it's about the province ?) to mix religion and school? I'm wondering how the kids will make the difference later on, between let's say facts and beliefs, if school and religion are that mixed up. It feels like she does a really good job, and she's really trying her best to teach her children, but it seems a bit like an endocrinment at this point. There is not one day without pushing religion on her kids. They don't even have a choice here... School has many problems i agree, but at least it helps kids to grow up outside of their parents' believes and makes sure that super religious parents are not putting too much of that in the child's development

I see in many ways how Delilah is conservative, but it doesn't seem that she refuses technological progress 🤔 I don't really understand these things I guess

    You should look into songs for the letter sounds! My nephew is 3 and his preschool does songs for each letter and he’s actually remembering the letters and their sounds. Music is really good for stuff like that.

      Yes!! We like the song the A says ahh the A says ahh every letter makes a sound the A says Ahh and go through the alphabet. Jada Alvarez showed it on her channel .

    Hello Delilah, as an education student at a German university this was very interesting to watch. In Germany homeschooling isn’t a thing at all so I was quite curious to see how it works. Are you planning (or is it even common) to hoomeschool children until they fully graduate to go to university? Have a great day!

    This is incredibly useful and beautifully presented!! As someone looking into homeschool over here in England, this is WILDLY helpful to see different approaches and resources etc, so helpful. Really want to respect your family’s privacy but would love your general opinions on what could be good ideas for extra curricular without everyone getting exhausted/running around all over the place? Or maybe how you made decisions (if appropriate) on what else you bring in/ how you decide what to do when there are many ‘good
    activities that could be done? Only if you feel happy to though :)

    This was amazing! I became a stay at home mom of a 3, 2, and 6 month old recently and I’ve been so overwhelmed with what to use, where to start with homeschooling but this is everything I needed to get myself and my kids started! Thank you so much 😊

    This is such a beautiful way of homeschooling. I can’t wait for my babies to be old enough to have this kind of homeschooling experience with me. What an encouragement!

    I was a preschool teacher in the U.S. (retired now). There was a book called “R is for Rainbow” that had activities across the curriculum for each letter of the alphabet. It was b=very age appropriate for the preschool age child and fun to use.

    Loved this video! I’ve been gathering ideas for my little boy. He is two like William (actually just two months younger!) I’ve been doing some preschool but very lightly and I am eager to be organized as we round towards preschool and there is also nothing better than seeing his little kind light up with wonder and awe learning something new ! God Bless you all 💗

    We're homeschooling in BC and also using The Good and The Beautiful for math.
    In BC as a registered homeschooler we do not have to report anything, our only obligation is to educate our child. I love the flexibility that this provides for our family.

      I can see the pros of that but I also worry about parents who indoctrinate or don’t teach their children.

      @@sambito702even a parent who sends their children to a brick and mortar school or homeschools following strict supervision can indoctrinate at home....

    Question: before they were old enough for preschool and kindergarten, did you do anything school related like reading books to them? And how often would you do these activities?

    I was homeschooled for first grade in Ontario, back in 1996. It was the year I learned to read, and the math that we covered was way beyond that which was being taught in public school. When I re-entered public school for second grade, I was two years ahead of everyone in my class. The one thing that I was ... not necessarily "behind" on, but "out of sorts" with was French. I did learn French, but not the particular conversation pieces that were being taught in first grade at the public school I was later enrolled at

    Love this video and the new direction your channel is going! I also follow For the Love of Homeschooling and for those who don't know, they have weekly freebies on their website! My kiddo is almost 2 so we're not quite to official homeschool yet (we do a loose preschool style routine now with lots of library trips) but I love to save their freebies for when we're ready to start homeschool in earnest! I also love the alphabet one you mentioned in this video, I'll definitely be scooping that up when my kiddo is ready for it.

    I do the best of both worlds I keep my kids at home but they attend/will attend an online public academy. I also have an 8yo 3rd grader, with a 3yo, & a just now 1 yo. I also wanted to traditional homeschool & purchase the good & the beautiful curriculum but I didn’t know we were going to have a new baby at the same time she would start & then not be able to afford that particular curriculum.

Your newborn videos have helped in my excitement to go through the newborn phase again when my second is born in the spring! Would love to hear more about how you find contentment in the day to day of motherhood. I know Jesus is the answer for me , but if you had any practical tips other than spending time with the Lord 🤗
