"Before we set off, we'll set the car up" is definitely true as the MG4 resets all your settings every time you turn the car off! I know accelerating really slowly at a green light saves energy but I just can't bring myself to do it
I've read a comment from another video, just a few days ago saying there's been a new update which saves your settings. Lots of replies from people saying theirs is now saving, but also reports some still aren't saving.
I pressed update but it’s still telling me I’m up to date, I’ll keep an eye out! My SE is on MPU software version: SWI69-29958-1100R13. Hopefully it updates soon
Some things save but not driving mode, more annoying is that ECO is the last of the 6 modes, a better order might be helpful. Right now SNOW is before ECO. You’d like ECO and SPORT would be the first two options, since EVs are both sporty and economical depending on settings and driving style.
Just drove back from Sunderland, (to Kettering, Northamptonshire) without stopping, on a single charge! So nearly all motorway! 203 miles. 15 to 18 degrees. Started on 100%, (GOM showing 228) finished with 8% battery, (17 miles left on the GOM). 3.5 mpkw average 52mph. Total drive time 3h53mins. I have an MG4 LR, Trophy.
Word on the street is that the MY23/24 will save the settings on shutdown so you don't have to set them every time. Hope it's true and applied as an update to existing MG4 cars
@@user-pu3ce3jt7h I get what you're saying, but model names and specs do vary between countries, and not everybody knows all the specs in every country thus, saying LR is still useful info.
Were you 'undertaking' a lot on that motorway? Thought you were in France at one point. Fair enough if you were filtering in an exit lane - otherwise f****n dangerous eh! Hard to tell with video edit where you might have used same clip several times.
Nobody could believe that I got better fuel consumption in our old Citroen van than the official figure indicated. The official was 7.7l/100km. I got it to 6,8l/100 - so not just better, but significantly better. Nor did I have to get sill with the hypermiling, just not slowing down so much, so not needing to accelerate so much. On one trip from Spain to the UK I got 1200km on a tankful (80 litres) and the trip was still saying that I had 280km of fuel left in the tank. On that journey we were in no rush, so it was fine to cruise at 110kph, but even when time is tight, it is rare for me to be overtaken on anything but motorways. I suspect that EVs are going to respond even more to gentle inputs because of the regen, especially where we live, which is very mountainous. I am really not trying to boast, just wanted to point out that being ultra-smooth, looking much further ahead and trusting the tyres to get you through bends makes a big difference to economy. And before anybody claims that you get through tyres more quickly... maybe a little. But nothing like I was using fuel week in, week out.
Yep all that also applies to ICE vehickes as well. Its just that because ICE refueling is so much faster few people bother however doing so could be saving them some serious money!

The over the air update feature is not yet implemented.

Wow, that's a pretty decent average speed too! How was the journey from a driver's perspective?

I had to laugh when I saw all the mathematical symbols popping up! 😆 That’s how my brain works as well.
Did Ellis and Kevin travel back to base in the same car? I could feel Ellis being restrained for the camera, although Kevin's advice was useful.
They did indeed! Kevin even managed to coach a slightly improved score of 4.2 miles per kWh from Ellis on the way back to Bridgend!
Basically it's driving with anticipation I.E. with no hard stops or acceleration
Useful information. By “old men”😊 You not only save energy but money.
Nice to see where my car came from. 😊

@@robmccaw9956 Yup. In fact I was talking about an ICE van.
@@NathanielCarSalesyes but also with the added bonus of regen, driving cash back 😅
WHAT AN 'OLD MAN' VIDEO!!!
Not quite, that would’ve been the “but I could do the trip in my efficient diesel car”
Oh no Nathanel!
