  • I am new to the horse world and got my first horse, starting a new hobby. I’m sinking myself into.
This is Onyx , he is a Percheron and stands about 18 hands tall at three years old.
This is my very first attempt at doing any training with him and I know I’m making tons of mistakes.
For my regular subscribers- don’t worry I’m not switching over to a horse channel 😂😂😂
If you are interested in my journey with this horse, leave a comment below, and stay tuned, as I might start another channel that focuses on that journey if enough people are interested.
I just really like him and wanted to share a couple shorts to introduce him.

I’m new to horses, this is my first one and I’m open for tips as I’m still learning. Enough people want to learn more about this horse and my journey let me know, and I will create a new channel all about it

Steve Young Horsemanship would be an excellent source of information for you. He is amazing. Onyx is beautiful.

Thanks. I’ve been researching online a ton and have him at a full boarding stable and people there are helping a ton.

I’ve seen these Big Horses at Farm Shows.
    Thats what I would do:
    1. Visit Stables that are open to Horse Riding Lessons. They can teach you how to Ride and take care of your horse.
    2. Farm Shows see if anyone can have advice about your horse.
    3. Find Blogs and Horseback Vacation sites and even try places that sell the horse you have. What do they recommend?
    4. Veterinarians will help look at your horse and recommend Food, Ferriers, and things to keep Horsey Happy!

I’ve already had the vet out and the Ferrier and is it a full care boarding facility. He’s made some buddies with other horses. And I’ve got a lesson since I made this video, and riding lessons scheduled soon. Saving up for my own saddle.

He’s gorgeous! I love the big horses. Most horsey people insist that they’re highly social animals, so my biggest advice would be to get him a stable mate of some kind. They need company. Good luck, I’m jelly!

He’s in a full care boarding facility with a whole bunch of other horses and has already made a couple of close buddies.

I’ve been doing lots of ground work. Lately with work I’ve been lacking time though. 😢
