You can use red iron oxide on greenware, but the unfired clay really sucks in the oxide and if you rewet the greenware while putting on the wet oxide, sometimes the clay can make the oxide chalky and pale, It is a crapshoot. I would test the results of red iron oxide over underglazes, as the oxides can be very saturated and could erase all of your underglaze work if you apply it without a lot of water mixed in. Thank you for tuning in!
