One of my fav songs ever. Growing up in the 90’s. In high school they called me Mazzy. Vinnie sounds incredible. He has a very nostalgic voice Wow. I have the chills !!! Forever a Sponge girl 💙 you all did an amazing job
Saw these guys open for Spin Doctors and Gin Blossoms back in 2002 on the New World Disorder Tour at Kentucky Kingdom. Need to check into more of their stuff.
I was also at that show! Vinny got his mic cable wrapped around my buddy's neck at one point! I bought the dude from 7 Mary 3 a beer at the Budweiser truck. Such a cool show! Flash forward 10 years, and my wife and I saw Sponge again in Lexington, KY at what is now Manchester Music Hall. Vinny pulled her up onstage to dance with him during "Molly". These guys are just a really, really great, proper rock and roll band. A PEOPLES' rock and roll band...and great, great guys! Vinyl just landed on my front porch, and I couldn't be happier! SPONGE!!
Fucking bold, Vinnie! Mazzy Star. Great to see Sponge back! Saw him around the turn of the century in Vegas on Maryland Parkway at some arcade. Waxing ecstatic!
Depends where you've been who you're with and where you are right now will determine where you're going sweetie, change those things that brought you there you'll see everything has a way of working out good or bad. Eat healthy, stay hydrated take care of yourself stay positive with positive people and positive thoughts things will change. Sending you healing vibes and positivity and happiness 🌠🌈🙂🤙❤
I don't understand why I'm the only one who thinks this song is boring. I was hoping Sponge might turn me around a little on it, but nope, it's too faithful.
You’re not the only one but a lot of people love this song. They did remain faithful to the original on this song. However, they did change things up on a couple songs on the upcoming “1994” album that releases on October 18, 2024.
I was not sure this was going to work. Holy shit does it work. Love it.

Just gorgeous. Even eclipses the original for me. Wow
This is wonderfully faithful. Vinny is slaying the vocals and the band includes the ethereal shoegaze sound of Mazzy Star. Love ❤️ it!
I have been a fan of Sponge since their classic album Wax Ecstatic.
I am happy to see that they are still putting out some good music.
Sponge rocks.🤘🤘
i like wax ecstatic more than their debut
@@bengalgangster So do I.🤘🤘
Great cover, and Vinny’s voice sounds as great as ever. This could have been released 25 years ago
Received my yellow vinyl of 1994 today and have already listened to it all 5 times!!!!!

Absolute masterclass.
This is beautiful. Always amazing and Vinnie, you've always been criminally underrated. I never knew this song could be pulled off but you've done it!

Hello, I'm new here, the first time I heard the song was by Mazzy Star, what was the original?
Mazzy Star released the original in 1994. This is one song on the Sponge “1994” cover album that releases on October 18, 2024.
Love it❤
I'm not going to be able to make it.

How could you dudes ruin a Classic...
It's also been covered by the band Flickerstick. How does a cover of the song ruin the original recording?
sounds ok should be grungier 😁
