Nice points Deepesh. I would like to add few points to this. Pharmacoinformatics is not just a department to choose when you get an average rank. It is a department which is good into R&D and consulting as well. Today's world is completely filled with AI and either it is R&D or other consulting jobs everything includes AI. Talking about the research, bioinformatics is a very interesting subject which is something new other than conventional pharmacy that has a great scope. If you are more interested in getting a job in a consulting firm then this is one of the best fields to prepare you before hand. Each and every consulting job asks you to learn computing languages which are included in the curriculum. You already have an upper hand when you have these technical skills. Rest, yes it might be a little tough in starting but you will never regret opting this field. You can later even enter into IT jobs as well. If you are really interested in opting for this department go for the Mohali branch.
I don't think k kisi bhi subject ku uske packages se judge karna chahiye even until you are perfect in that subject..if u r curious to learn the things and u are talented and confident about your skills definitely lot of opportunities r waiting for you it doesn't matter you studied from niper or any other institute wht ever course it may be.. Sitting in place and thinking about any subject its scope and job opportunities is easy rather than going it to practically. Remember one thing whatever u get core and non core accepted it from your heart and try to be good in that subject ...otherwise leave it ... Course won't make differences in ranks we are the who make it.. difference . Everyone have there different journey and obstacles have to face to get a great achievements take the suggestions but make the decision by your own. All the best 👍

Can someone with no prior experience in computer languages join this course? Are these languages (c++ , python, etc) taught to students there or the students already know these languages? Please guide
R and D departement is in demand right now so its better to get in core subjects i guess ... beacause that is going to help in Academics or jobs too ! so i think informatics should be at last priority!!
Thank you for opinion. Being a NIPERian I partly contradict that statement as jobs are more in consulting these days with higher package and NIPER Mohali package was good this year. It is not the best option but can be considered if you really want to get into NIPER and having a moderate rank.
