Think it does fit zero two because even in the series, when hiro freed zero two he did say he'll be her darling and he did gave her candy which she does have a sweet tooth over something sweet. After their memories were wiped and when they first meet she did call him darling but even he doesn't know what she meant by it because he doesn't remember her when they were kids, ofc she did try to get him to try sweet things like he gave zero two sweet things. In a way it's understandable why zero two is chosen for this because in a sense both hiro and zero two loved each other but later on zero two remembers hiro telling her he'll be her darling but he doesn't remember.
