Your explanation of the benefits of a torque sensor is very helpful. Many viewers will wonder about that spectacular boardwalk.
I'm glad it was helpful. Thank you for the kind words and taking the time to comment.:)
Nice video. I just got the second generation version of the Pace 500 and I love it. My boss at work wanted to test it out when I got it. He rode it 5 minutes and ordered on for himself. As of now, the Pace 500.2 is only $999 but only available in the "regular" sized step-over frame in the So-Cal Sand color. It's an absolute steal at that price. I got the bike, their chain lock, fender kit, rear rack, and suspension seat pot for $1142 after local taxes. It's like riding a bike for the first time all over again.
Wow that's a great deal. He's going to love the bike as well.
When someone gets on an e-bike for the first time it seems they always want one the next day .... If it makes sense feel free to use my affiliate links. :):)

I have this bike and it is soooooo nice
Very light and easy to handle and load
The ride is smooth .
Very attractive bike...I am very satisfied with the PACE 500 3..
It is a great all around bike
Thank you for the Review on this bike. About the same size as you n about time a big guy does this with an E-Bike. Now I know which one to pick up. Thanks again.
No problem Glad it helped.

Thanks for the review. I would love for you to take this on hills and see how the motor works.
Great review Mike...really enjoyed your testing and overall assessment of the eBike. Cheers from Gary, Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 👍
Hi Gary, Thanks for taking the time to comment and for your kind words.:) :)
{{3}} Wow, the Aventon Pace 500.3 is definitely changing the game! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Mike. Your review and overall assessment of the eBike was really informative and enjoyable to watch. It's great to see how this bike is making waves in the industry. Cheers from me, a fellow eBike enthusiast! 🚴♂Hey there, I just stumbled upon an exciting new crowdfunding project called the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike! It's a game-changer in the world of cycling. What sets it apart is the dual modes, including an indoor fitness mode where you can recharge the bike. How amazing is that? With its powerful motor, durable suspension, and puncture-resistant fat tires, this eBike can conquer any terrain. And the Smart Saddle Detection+ feature is an innovative addition that adds fitness goals, challenges, and motivation to your rides. I'm really excited about the possibilities this eBike brings! 🚴♂🌟
Just ordered this bike this morning, so excited. I actually am not a fan of front suspension, just don't want to have to maintain it.
That's great You're going to love it.:). Hope you were able to use my affiliate link. :):)
Wowee buddy, this is a fantastic in depth practical review. Exactly what I was looking for prior to buying this model
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Well done, I am ordering this 500.3 after wringing my hands versus the adventure. Watch out San Antonio greenways!
That's great, you'll love it. Freel Free to use my link if you like and its good for you.:)
Nice review, thanks. Waiting for the comparison video between Gen2 and 3
Thanks will be working on that one :)
Comparison video between the Gen 2 and Gen 3 is uploaded.
Great review. Seems to have decent acceleration from a stand still with just throttle. That's great for negotiating in light traffic
Yes and throttle only will get you up to 20 mph :)
Hi Mike, great review as always, looks like aventon has done it right again.. I love your disclaimer 😂👍👍
LOL.. Thanks. Like to share that..... Thanks for watching. :)
My husband has the large size and I have the smaller size and we love them. I almost bought the Adventure. You definitely need to ride the bikes to see which style fits you.
It's always a good idea to test ride if you can.
Torque sensor is a big plus!
Thanks
Hey, thanks for the video really appreciate it by the way is that a bike lock that you have on there? If so, what brand is it?
Yes it's a folf lock .... My favorite

@@mikerochester thanks so much I appreciate that. I’ve been trying to find the best E bike. I’ve narrowed it down to the aventon level 2 and the rideup1 turris any suggestions?
Great review! Your brakes sound nice and quiet, where they that way out of the box? I just got a 500.3, Frin and back brakes have different noise problems.
Out of the box there was a lite scraping sound on the front tire.
I actually use a brake tool when adjusting and then perfect. I created a video. I just need to finish editing so I can post.
@@mikerochesterLooking forward to the video. I'm getting serious scraping when I hard brake on the front brakes and bad honking when I hard brake on the back. I have the brakes aligned so I'm not getting any rubbing on the discs.
@@jeffmpvd7689 its been crazy but I plan on getting it up soon. :)
WOuld the LEvel be as easy to pedal with no assist as the pace. HAving hard time debating the 2.
The pace 500.3 is definitely easy to pedal. I feel they'll be very similar.
I think people decide more by if they want to lean forward with the level 2 or sit up straight more cruiser style with a pace 500.3

I like how you reviewed the new Pace 500.3. I'm wondering what brand mirror you have installed and was it easy? Thanks!
This is the one I have on most my bikes a couple of them have come loose so I just started trying a new brand I will share that as well
amzn.to/3QkzemW
And this is the new one I started using.... It took a long time for delivery so I'll probably look for other suppliers.
amzn.to/3rPIyoC
I bought a step through 500.3 and I love it.
@@chuck5085 That's great The pace 500.3 handles well and very comfortable to ride
We saw your max trottle speed. But what's your real max speed with PAS ? Thax
Unlocked the bike goes 28mph when pedaling
Hey Mike nice review, would the step over frame in large be tall enough for me 6'2" 34" inseam? Also where is that bike trail you are on. I live in midwest.
Thanks for the feedback, Aventon has a size chart on the website. Also the trail I'm riding goes through the city in a long parts of lake Ontario it's not really that long only a few miles.
Same, 6'2" 34" inseam, definitely went with step over large
@@jetjock400 Definitely:)
Two quick questions for any Pace 500.3 users. (1) Is the throttle a variable speed throttle? The throttle button on my Magnum eBike is All-or-Nothing and is not very convenient. If I want to just cruise very slowly using the throttle does that work? (2) This bike comes is a small and large frame. I'm 5'8 and my wife if 5'4. I'd like to buy the smaller frame version so we can both rider it, but am concerned that the smaller frame would not fit me. Any thoughts? Thanks!
It's going to depend if you get the step through model or the step over. They both use different size charts. I personally don't like to feel big on a bike.
Pace 500.3 Step-Through
Regular: 4'11" - 5'7"
Large: 5'7" - 6'1"
Pace 500.3 step over
Regular: 5'3" - 5'10"
Large: 5'10" - 6'4"
Also throttle on demand is going to go to the same speed regardless of what PAS level you're in, with the throttle pressed all the way down. .

Did you have to cut the end of your grip to put your mirror on? Thanks! My Pace is on the way!!!😊
No there are plastic caps you pop out on the ends.
Thanks for this great review, can you put a link for the bike lock you have mounted?
Thanks, link below.

Nice ride
Thanks for watching
Great video Mike!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for taking the time to comment. :)
Great review as always. I am in Rochester NY and would like to test drive one of these before I buy it. Do you possibly know anyone locally that still offers that and sells them? Bert’s seems to be phasing them out and not sure where else to try. Thanks much!
Feel free to private message me can see if we could figure something out.
@@mikerochester Apparently there is no way to PM on RUclips any more, so I sent an email instead. Thanks for following up, much appreciated.
@@xloweric No worries I just replied to your email:)
Thanks for the video. Did you just attach your lock with zip ties?
No, You can either screw it in where your water bottle would go or it also comes with some additional mounts that tighten down way better than zip ties.
Great video, thank you! -T
Thank you and appreciate taking the time to comment
Mileage depends on a lot of factors. 65 miles sounds too good (maybe with PAS mostly. For city commute how is ride quality seeing that front forks have no suspension
No doubt You would need to be pedaling to get that kind of mileage. Felt pretty good I pretty much kept it in the roads and trail the whole time. Not the kind of break I'd be going off-road with.
Does anyone who owns the 500.3 knows if you can adjust the pedal assist percentage for the torque sensor in the app?
Unfortunately that is not an option.
Can the screen be taken off when you leave the bike so it isn't stolen?
No it's not portable. I wouldn't think someone would try to steal the screen considering it's screwed onto a bracket
Does the pedal assist turn off when you brake? Or how is it disengaged short of turning it off?
There's a brake sensor that turns the motor off as soon as you press the brakes..
It’s changing the game, however, make sure you buy the bike from a shop with good technicians, as the torque sensors they are using are not proven reliable and fairly expensive. Bottom bracket Torque sensors are basically a cheap strain gauge, that can easily get out of calibration and there is no fixing them. They need to be replaced, and would more than double the cost of any tune up. Could fail or change responsiveness in months or a couple years. Whereas a cadence sensor can be replaced basically in a quick visit if a mechanic is available at a shop, it’s quite a bit longer with aventons more complicated bottom bracket configuration torque sensor. The smooth feeling of the power response comes at a price and hassle that I doubt few shops are even aware of yet. Good luck everyone. The whole industry is playing copy cat and catch up, while also trying to squeeze prices down. The cost will be lack of reliability and more trips to the shop.
Thanks for sharing, so fare so good. Thay have been great.
How do you feel about the lack of shock absorbers? I find it annoying.
I have a suspension seat post and ride mostly on paved trails with this bike. But I definitely get it would be nice if there was some suspension.
Is this bike good enough for food delivery?
Aventon makes a cargo bike called the Abound. I would think you could have more room. But at the same time many bikes can work I'm sure. Depending on what it is you'll be delivering.
@@mikerochester Thank you so much.
@@vevechannel7748 No problem thanks for watching. One thing you probably definitely want will be a step-through for getting on and off the bike easily.
Why no front suspension? Great looking bike though 👍 Great presentation for the bike 👍
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Front suspension would be nice:)
I got this bike and miss the suspension. I don't know why they chose to not include it.
@@esayed I get that it's another expense but there are options for suspension seat post and stem.
Mike, May I ask for links to the mirror and phone holder. Also thoughts on a bottle holder. Thanks
Thanks for the heads up Phillip. I just added the accessory links in the description. Let me know if there's any you're missing and I can shoot it over to you.
@@mikerochester Thanks
@@philliparnold270 should also be a bottle holder bracket in the description. I bought some real cheap ones cuz I use water bottles and just bend it cuz it's metal and it works well. I have a couple different phone mount holders I use let me know which one cuz I don't think one of them is up there
What is the brand/model of bike lock in this review?
Below is the like
amzn.to/3M2zOTL
Looks like it's on sale so good time for me to get a second one:)
I love this luck cuz it's so easy to travel with.
Thank you so much for the great video and information for me this electric bike will be a game changer because where I live there are no Hills and it's all flat I would have unlimited range because I would only use the electric if I was in a rush it's like having the best of both worlds my only concern would be what is the water resistance just in case you get stuck in the rain I am going to subscribe right now and give you a like because I really love your videos thank you for all your great work
Thanks so much, so happy you like the video. I have been cought in the rain with outher bikes of there's and no problems, but I would refer to the Aventon website for weather resistant specs. Please feel free to use my affiliate link if you like :):)
What lock are you using?
It's a foldy lock. My favorite lock.
amzn.to/49qBKPj
It's a folding lock
Didn't show the new turn signals?! :(
I do at 2:06 in the video I just don't spend too much time on it there's a lot to cover.
Impressive !
Thanks for watching
Hey! I was looking to buy an ebike and came upon the level.2 and this pace 500.3. I am looking to use it for city use (which has steep roads). Anyone have any recommendations?
I actually will be doing a comparison video on these two bikes in the next week. Both have a 500w motor. :)
@@mikerochester I’ll be waiting 🙂
@@meharsandhu9036 I'll film it this weekend should have something soon :)
I'd wait until there's a coupon. There'll be a 500.4 b4 you know it.
Hard to beat this one :)
I definitely like the bike. But I don't like it enough to pay full msrp in this economy. Even Tesla is dropping prices like crazy to drive demand.
@@rrcbiker I get it, keep a lookout on their website they run special sometimes.
@@rrcbiker I get it, keep a lookout on their website they run special sometimes.
The quality of these Pace 500.3 is much worse than prior models. Buyer beware.
I wonder if yours had an issue. Mine is super solid.
I have the original version. Do you think the 500.3 would be a upgrade? Debating if I should keep the I have or update. Thanks
@@shorelinerach01 it's definitely upgraded and has new features The question's going to be if you like a torque sensor or cadence sensor. :)
One more question. Is this a little quieter than the original with cadence? Thanks again!🙂
@@shorelinerach01 I guess I never took notice however you would think a torque sensor would be a bit quieter as it's not a constant motor on to reach a certain speed. But wouldn't think this is something that would sway my decision one way or the other.

That is killer! Kinda looks like the Soltera
True, the bike is solid.
