    I live in the Houston Texas area and I can only find one church that believes in this. So many people are deceived. Thank God he revealed the truth to me and my family. I’m severing my legalized adulterous remarriage.

    1 Corinthians 7:10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11 But if she does, she Must Remain Unmarried OR else Be Reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

      Look how it muddies the water too. Believers even doubt marriage is for life. It’s really scary when so many can be so wrong. What else have we been wrong about?

    Totally agree. I have done many many hours of study and research on this subject ax it was personal to me. My three Elders disagree with me and accept and condone a couple who have unscripturally divorced and remarried and attend our fellowship. . If they dont come to the truth I will have to leave the fellowship.

      I’ve studied this for several years now. It’s biblical to remain single and to believe remarriage is allowed is to believe God contradicts Himself in verses like Matthew 19:9 and Luke 16:18. They’ll twist not under bondage to mean we can remarry. I simply believe God knew this would be a hot topic and if remarriage were allowed He’d have specified it.

    If you are divorced, like I am, please do not be deceived, as I once was, into believing that God permits a divorced person to remarry while they have a living covenant spouse. False teachers have been preaching a false doctrine for 500 years, claiming that your spouse’s adultery or abandonment breaks the one-flesh marriage covenant. The Word of God is clear that only death breaks the covenant. Jeremiah Chapter 3 reveals that, although God divorced Israel, she remains his wife and He will take her back when she repents of her adultery. God’s idea of divorce is to put away one’s spouse if they are unfaithful or abusive, but to remain alone and unattached, leaving room for reconciliation if they repent. Only death breaks the one-flesh marriage covenant, which is between two previously unmarried or widowed people. Any other marriage is considered unrepentant adultery in God’s eyes.

    4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. 9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
    (Please note that there are over 20 characteristics which prove that the Book of Matthew was written to the Jews, who were still observing the Jewish betrothal (engagement) described in Deuteronomy 22:13-21, which was a one to seven year time of testing to see if the woman (who was referred to as “wife” during the betrothal) would remain faithful. A wedding contract (ketubah) would be signed at the beginning of the betrothal period, but there was no one-flesh permanent marriage covenant until the groom showed up to consummate the marriage. During consummation, the woman lay on a cloth, and the blood on the cloth from the breaking of the hymen was called her “tokens of virginity.” If she could not produce the tokens of virginity, she was put away and then stoned to death. In Matthew 5:32 and Matthew 19:9, where the phrases “saving for the cause of fornication” and “except it be for fornication” are used as the only reason for putting away, this refers to what could be done only up to the wedding night, if the woman had been unfaithful during the betrothal. But, if the woman was able to produce the tokens of virginity, he could not put her away all his days. You do not see the phrases “saving for the cause of fornication” nor “except it be for fornication” in Mark and Luke, because Mark and Luke were written to the Gentiles, who did not observe the Jewish betrothal. Today, any previously unmarried, or widowed, man and woman who say wedding vows to each other and then consummate their vows are in a one-flesh covenant until one of them dies, even if they divorce-in which case, they are to remain unmarried or else be reconciled. Please note, also, that Jesus did away with stoning to death and also set the bar high for forgiveness when he forgave the adulterous woman in John 8:10-11, which says, “10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”)

    As you can see, remarriage after divorce, while one still has a living covenant spouse is deemed unrepentant adultery in God’s eyes, and becomes a salvational issue. The only way to repent of this sin is to stop living in it, by going through legal channels to divorce the person whom God does not recognize as your covenant spouse, and to remain alone as long as your first spouse (covenant spouse) is still living.

    Kind of like fasting and prayer, casting out devils, personal intimacy with Holy Spirit, ever growing deep conviction not just of sin but of separation from ALL worldliness in loyalty and honor of God, and then divorce remarriage adultery, many very crucial doctrines and operations that God desires for us that most church goers want NOTHING to do with and do not want to hear it, very sad and frustrating God have mercy on us

    Romans 7:1 By law a married woman is Bound to her husband As Long As He Is Alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. 3 So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, She IS Called an Adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man

    I am interested in buying the book "Divorce & Remarriage: The Trojan Horse Within the Church"--so I went on Amazon and found two different versions of the book. I want to buy the better version. One is from Xulon Press (2008) and is 176 pages long. The other is from CreateSpace (2015) and is 130 pages long. What is the difference between these books? Is the longer book more thorough? Can you help me decide which version to purchase? Thank you!

    I fear for those in unscriptural D & R and those who teach it. Many are on the broad path to destruction Jude 23 snatch them from the fire. It's likely the biggest problem in the church nowadays. The Lord showed me just after I got saved that my first husband was my lawful spouse not my second and I hadn't read any verses on this subject. Tell them anyway then it's between them and God.

    It’s true according to scripture in the Epistles of Apostle Paul that Marriage is for life to a one time marriage. But also a true faithful widow will continue that oneness in I Timothy 5:9. The exception is if a widow is unable to maintain marriage to one husband or one wife then they are permitted to remarry only someone in the Lord. However such a remarriage is no longer oneness in Christ. It’s forever one husband and one wife even if it’s widowhood which honors God. Compare all scriptures.

    i don't get it. all this evidence of proof that the early Church did not ascribe to marriage divorce and remarriage and these churches today are giving license to, then what kind of churches are most people going to? i am afraid for plenty christians that accepted this doctrine of Balaam from these wolves in sheep clothing pastors ,and the congregation that follow them . they leading these people straight in to the lake of fire if they all don't repent!!!!

      Very true. I'm outside Philadelphia on the east coast and almost NO churches teach this. I have several Christian friends that attend various churches in the area. Most teach and allow multiple reasons for divorce, and also teach remarriage is fine. Even the more conservative churches that dont teach or perform remarriages, don't confront the remarried people in the congregation or point out the sin thier in. Most also give 1 or 2 allowances for divorce including the fornication clause that we here know refers to Jewish betrothal and isnt valid at all. It's sad

    If the unbelieving depart..... let him depart. A brother or sister is not under the bondage of servitude [Greek word Douloo] because of the separation, but should intercede for the salvation of the departed one, praying for his/her salvation and for reconciliation.

    It is interesting that Paul says these two things in the same chapter
    First he says the believer is not 'bound' under the circumstance of their unbelieving spouse leaving them, and then he says that a wife is 'bound' to her husband as long as he is still living. It seems to contradict, but it doesn't. It's a different word. - Ricky B

Repentance requires STOPPING THE SIN and SINNING NO MORE - thus getting out of the adulterous remarriage. We would not say a homosexual marriage is okay if they continue to stay married, neither is an adulterous remarriage okay by staying in it.”
    This is how God feels about divorce:
    'And this is the second thing you do: You cover the altar of the Lord with tears, With weeping and crying; So He does not regard the offering anymore, Nor receive it with goodwill from your hands. Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant.     Only the book of Matthew contains the "except for fornication" permission to divorce, as only the book of Matthew was specifically written for the Jews and the Jewish culture understood that this "fornication" meant sexual unfaithfulness in the betrothal/engagement period (not after the marriage was consummated by sexual union between the husband and wife). An example of this is shown where Joseph wanted to DIVORCE the mother of Jesus, Mary, before they had consummated their marriage as it appeared that she had been unfaithful as she was pregnant prior to having sex with Joseph.
    "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together (sexually), she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.     Note no fornication clause in the rest of the gospels, because it was specifically written to the gentiles which did not have the strict betrothal customs like the Jews:

    The ONLY permission for remarriage is the death of the original spouse:
    (Paul speaking) "For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man." - Romans 7:2‭-‬3 KJV
    Lastly, abandonment by a spouse does not allow remarriage to another. You must either reconcile or stay unmarried.
    (Paul speaking) "And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage (to perform the marital duties - this does not allow remarriage) in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.     John the Baptist took the divorce and remarriage adultery so serious, that he lost his head over it via decapitation by Herod:
    But when Herod heard, he said, “This is John, whom I beheaded; he has been raised from the dead!” For Herod himself had sent and laid hold of John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife; for he had married her. Because John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” - Mark 6:16‭-‬18 NKJV
    Of all the laws in the Old Testament, Paul emphasized only four - and abstaining from sexual immorality (which is what remarriage is while your original spouse is alive) is one of them:
    (Paul speaking) "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell." - Acts 15:28‭-‬29 NKJV
    Having children in an adulterous remarriage does not make it any less important to exit that adulterous remarriage as shown in Ezra 10 where they the people had to repent (stop being a part of) unlawful marriages, some of which resulted in offspring ("All these had taken pagan wives, and some of them had wives by whom they had children."
    Ezra 10:44 NKJV).
    Staying in an adulterous remarriage can take you to hell:

      Staying in an adulterous remarriage can take you to hell. More like it will. So sad how not many believe God in those Scriptures but always say Gods okay with it because He wants me to be happy. Rubbish. God wants us to be holy.

    About the rapture, I'm wondering they are few is taken away? Reed Isaiah 57:1 👇
    No man layeth it to heart, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
    Perhaps they are few, like Noah and Lot. Maybe because of this👇

    John.14:15,21,23,24, John.17:17, John.15:10, 1 John.5:3, 2 John.5:3, Rev.3:10,12, Luke 16:18, Mark.10:11-12, 1Cor.6:9-10, 7:10-11,39, Rom.7:2-3, + many other verses.
    We can not compromise. We have to repent👉Acts 3:19, 17:30.
    But God is mersy👉1 John.1:9, 1:7, 1 Pet.2:24. Eph.2:8, Rom.5:20

    Abuse in Marriage people say there are gray areas what about abuse well the bible DOES talk about it! Why have we never seen this or our pastors talked about it?
