Nice short tutorial. A question: In GT3 racing what you must do in a blue flag... Be predictable in your racing line? Or just let the fast people pass? In asseto corsa competitione sometimes it feels like faster people passing carelessly when you try to find space to let em pass. Also were you should stay when you are in blue flag? Out of the racing line or on the side of the racing line?
Great question! GT3 is no different than other categories. So the driver behind "should" look for a safe place to pass you. You are not required to let him passed but often it is easier that way. If you see a pack of cars about to unlap you chances are they are fighting eachother for position and they will be very aggressive to overtake you. Generally speaking if you stay on the racing line at all times you're playing it safe as that is where people will expect you to be. To make it easier on the guys behind you can lift the throttle on the straight. You can also decide to move over on the straight if the guy behind is not right behind you when coming out of the corner. This sends the signal that you are "moving out of the way". If he is too close stay on the outside and let him pick his line as it would only make it more confusing otherwise. Making it easier on the guys behind is definitely a good way of loosing less time yourself but don't try to move in the corners and stick to your racing line there. If you have any more questions feel free to ask! :)
Thank you for always being here man! Maybe not to the most fun episode but rules are important! Next week should be more intense with a look at overtaking strategies :)
Didnt watch just wanted to say 10 min is not long enough to explain everything. Been searching for a proper in depth video explaining the rules of racing. Cant find anything decent.
