Hey Budd. We have the 15.48-6. Same purchase as you guys originally did. We realise the toilet shower is a pain in the butt setting up outside. With the new prices... we are looking at a 25k upgrade to sell ours and upgrade tot he 17.58-3 with the toilet shower. We noticed you have done this... is it really worth it.. as we are struggling with little kids and showering/toileting outside.... Is it really a game changer having the toilet shower inside?? really appreciate your honest feedback. Cheers.
Hey mate, the toilet is the best at night and in the mornings!!! Definitely a game changer. The shower is awesome when you are off grid. But you do have to be mindful of how much water you have. Rarely can you afford to have a normal shower where you turn the water on and let it run while you wash. We just returned from 3 months on the road, if we needed to preserve water, we would shower inside but fill a bucket and use a cloth. Or we would quickly get wet, turn water off, lather up the soap and then turn water back on to rinse off. Whether it's worth $25k. It is if you use it LOTS! Not if you only use the van a few times a year.
Hey mate, no not sure. There's not much to the compressor fridge. Its basically on/off and a temp contol. I think there's an eco mode. But very much set and forget.
Great video, very useful to see what the van is like to live with. I'm keen to know why you upgraded from the 15.48-6? Did you find it too small? Cheers!
Thanks for the tour! We’ve got a Jayco Basestation on order, so lots of similar features. Q) how did you find the build quality upon pickup? Cheers guys!
Not 100% sure with the 17ft van. When we towed our 15ft van around NSW it was about 17L per 100 and it did it no problem. But the Colly has had a lot mods done since then - additional bar work and 33inch tyres. it struggled to tow the 17ft van. Fuel might have gone up a litre or two, maybe 17-19. But power became the issue. We have a Y62 now.
Thanks Jake. We have always just bought them from ebay, choosing ones that are around 150ish. 5kw is more than enough. I have an install vid somewhere on the channel (installed on a 15ft van) if you r interested.
Hey Dean, no i dont think so. There are other models that have triple bunks. You'd have to check the Jayco website though. Some models allow the dining table and bench seats to turn into a mini bed.
Hi. My new one just arrived in Auckland NZ. Get it in a few weeks. Is there a gas bayonet where you can hook a external BBQ to?
Yeah mate there is. I forgot to mention that. It is located against the chassis between the main door and the front boot.
@@OutdoorsCBR Awesome thanks. Love the video. Watched the diesel heater video. Plan on fitting one also.
Yeah worth doing it. So damn warm with the heater on. Scariest part is drilling 100mm hole in your floor haha 😬
Great video,thank you!
Nice van with the dual set up. These vans can take the corrugations at 80 mph, it so smoothes the ride and preserves the van.
Yeah we have taken it on corrugations for 100 of kms since this video was made, and it handled it very well.
80 MILES p/h ? I guess you mean km/h
Like this caravan. No kids so thinking a computer desk where the bunks are 💻🖱
Great video mate!! We have one on order and this video was great!!
Thanks and glad it was useful. You'll love your new van.
Great to the point video. Well done.
thanks mate. nothing worse than a video that fluffs around 🤣

Thanks for taking the time to respond. It gives us something to think about. Cheers.
Hey!!! Have you done or do you know of any videos on the fridge functions/set up?

Hey Sam, toilet shower combo, that was the main reason. 15ft was awesome, just really wanted a toilet and shower.
Thanks for the tour! We’ve got a Jayco Basestation on order, so lots of similar features. Q) how did you find the build quality upon pickup? Cheers guys!
Its all pretty good, and as expected with Jaycos price point. Worst we've had is a screw on a cupboard hinge come loose. It has been awesome.
What sort of fuel economy do you get with the Colorado when your towing?
Not 100% sure with the 17ft van. When we towed our 15ft van around NSW it was about 17L per 100 and it did it no problem. Great video mate, we have the 2019 model, looking to install a diesel heater, just wondering what brand & how many Kw you went for. Cheers jake

Awesome, I’ll definitely check them out. Thanks mate
Looking to get exactly the same van from Jayco Canberra but with a 3 way fridge. Delivery for October. How has your experience been with them?
They didn't want to install a diesel heater though.
We have bought 3 different vans from them over the years. They have been pretty good to deal with. The service department gets very busy though.
Morning legend
hey mate!
Hi mate, where is the location next to the lake?
Hey mate get in touch on FB or IG.
What is the pressure like in the shower?
Its great. We use the shower a lot. Water pressure has never been an issue.
Can you option a 3rd bed next to that bunk in these?
Hey Dean, no i dont think so. There are other models that have triple bunks. You'd have to check the Jayco website though. Some models allow the dining table and bench seats to turn into a mini bed.
Hey, what is the length of the bunk beds?? thanks
Hey Andrew, 1850x700mm.
@@OutdoorsCBR thanks mate
@@OutdoorsCBRif they had an option for a slide out outdoor kitchen id be all over that.
@@andrewgriffiths2317 I think a lot of people would love that as an option.
Rough cost for the new van?
Prices are all listed on the Jayco Website. Extras were about 4k.
Y62!👌😉
Yeow 😆 Spot on! 👍
@@OutdoorsCBR welcome to the club! TTS boys have been working on mine since I've had it as well!👌
Yeah thanks. Keen as for it to arrive. Ah nice, that's good to know. Ours will go there aswell.
@@OutdoorsCBR if you want to see mine and have a drive (it's a burger with the lot!) Let me know I'm in Holt. 👍🍻
@@baumie461 that'd be mint 👌
Ditch the factory jockey wheel and get a Trail a Mate much much better
Yeah definitely a good upgrade. We have since put on a heavy duty folding jockey wheel.
Where do your kids sleep
On the bunks when all of that junk seen in the video is put where it belongs.
I usually grill pizza.
Yeah that would work pretty well too! Dont mind the old camp oven pizza as well.
