In this video I discussed about deflection of beam theorem of a simply supported beam with a load acting at the center can be understood through the basic principles of structural mechanics. When a beam is simply supported at both ends and a load is applied at its center, the beam experiences bending. This bending results in stresses within the material of the beam, known as bending stresses.
When a simply supported beam is subjected to a concentrated load at its midpoint, it bends, creating tension in the bottom fibers and compression in the top fibers. The maximum bending stress occurs at the midpoint of the beam and can be calculated using the formula:
