- Today we will discover some of the popular flavors of India.
A mango Lassi is a refreshing drink with a yogurt base. I made a version with spiced rum.
The Jaljeera mojito I made was inspired by the jaljira powder that is very popular in Northern India. A Jaljeera drink can best be described as an Indian-flavored lemonade.
While Tamarind is indigenous to Africa, it is also grown in India and exported to 60 countries. It is a favorite flavor Indians love to use in their dishes. I found this flavor makes a very unique and absolutely delicious tamarind whiskey sour.
I made two versions of the final drink. Guava is the fourth most popular fruit in India and one flavor it pairs really nicely with is coconut. I made a blended coconut rum and guava cocktail.

"Guava" fruit displayed at 5:53 is actually chayote 🤦♂ It was my first experience of buying it... I picked it up from the box labeled Guava but when I tried it decided to replace it with sweet Guava juice and it worked perfectly

The closest thing I've had to a cocktail is Rum and thumsup. Cocktails are a luxury that a common Indian cannot afford. You walk into a bar and you get alcohol,water/soda, fizzy drinks & ice. At home you just eyeball a large,top it with water and straight up chug it. Lol.

I’ve made an alcoholic lassi before abs it was great! I added an extra float of dark rum on the top and it added an extra caramel richness to it. Highly recommend you try that next time!

If you want to make the lassi sweeter, use mango pulp instead of frozen mango. It's the way my grandmother makes it, as well as most restaurants to my knowledge. Put it in the fridge if you want it to be cold, and ofc add a little ice. Comes out perfect. Add some rose or syrup or something to add some interesting flavor

Just one correction please, Lassi doesn't come from Uttar Pradesh🤦🏽♂️ The origin is anyway not precisely so clear in terms of a state, but if at all you need to name a state it would be Punjab for sure and not Uttar Pradesh...

Try making something from the south coastal region of india using Kokum fruit juice. If u could find Urak Or Fenny which are the 2 most famous local spirits of my state Goa, would be great.

You can use tamarind good in coladas and in general with rum as well and for the jaljira spice maybe a gin tonic version with grapefruits or blood oranges would suite it well.

You can try guava with some gin/ vodka
1 ounces of guava juice
2 ounces of gin/vodka
½ ounces of lime juice
Shake it with ice
Serve it in a high bowl glass and top up with some soda.
Rim that glass with some sugar, chilli powder, black salt. You gonna love it ♥️♥️
