For me, I love the Ranger cookies. They are an addiction to me on cruises. I even found the recipe to make at home. I LOVE THEM XD Their even better when they are freash. Soft and chewy while the coconut gives it a nice soft crunch. Sooooooooo Goooooood!
@@mistylee3286 The cookies are coconut cookies but are called "coconut ranger cookies", or sometimes "ranger cookies". They are available in the buffet, the Park Cafe, and other eating places on ships. .
Oh, I’m so so glad that crepes made it onto this list. I looooved them, and also loved how many people didn’t know they were there - almost zero lines every time for me!
I just had the Kummelweck sandwich (multiple times) at Cafe 270 on Oddysey last week. It was as good as anything I ate at the specialty restaurants. This is the best quick lunch on the ship. Also... the Coconut Ranger cookies on Oddysey were amazing!
My wife and I were on Freedom 2 weeks ago and planned dinner at 830.. so while most people were dining, we were seeing shows and doing stuff there were usually lines for during the day.. at about 530ish everyday we would swing by Sorrento's (no lines..) grab a couple slices to hold us over and go on our way.. Then at 830, wander to the main dining room which was not fully crowded for dinner... Grab a drink at 10 and wander the deck or people watch till 1 am.. it was AWESOME!. Not a rating on the pizza itself per se.. but to the fact that it was available anytime till 2 am... They win something... 😂😂
Thank you for giving credit to western New York for the Kimmelwick sandwich. I’ve never tried it on the ship because it’s literally everywhere at home (Rochester, NY).
I didn’t know they were called ranger cookies. Just thought they were coconut. Anyway their cookies are pretty darn good with ranger my favorite. Funnel cake and cheese sticks at Hideaway beach were really great.
Nice video, thanks. There used to be crepes on the Majesty. Do you remember the name of the bar? We used to like the complimentary sushi on the Freedom class ships.
I really want to know why those mozerella sticks aren't available on the ship. I never knew about the Ranger cookie. I will definitely try it! Now that Ben and Jerry's is gone, enjoy the ice cream usually only available on the Oasis ships in its place. It's way better than B&J's.
Great call!!! The entire time I was watching this I was thinking... The best snack isn't actually on a ship so I wonder if Matt will include them? The Mozzy Sticks are so good that during the inaugural ICON cruise we decided to stay on the ship for the entire sailing to enjoy ICON.... The only exception was to run to a snack shack to get a couple helpings of Mozzy Sticks!
The Windjammer on every ship should have Crepes, nachos and mac n cheese if they are not available elsewhere, like on the Vision class. The rest of this list are great too! Extra pay items and the rest are available already everywhere.
Ranger cookies all the way! I waited in line to get them on a recent cruise and asked for 10 cookies…to share of course! Another person saw my stack of cookies and said….Why didn’t I do that ?!?!?!
Is there anything at all that is not breaded or contains zero sugar. This is great information for many people but sadly none of this works for my health. The only option in this list is the beef sandwich w/ no bun or the loco fresh ingredients in a bowl. Any chance I can find a dessert with stevia or monk fruit? Thanks for all your videos. I find them super helpful.
I guess it was an off day when I was there. But the mozzarella sticks were disappointing. I asked around and many were saying the same thing, others that had been at coco cay said they are usually very good and we’re surprised that day they were not as good. In my own rankings in my head I have ranger cookies 1st and Sorrento pizza second… as the best snacks (and most popular)
Based on multiple visits to CocoCay over a couple of years, the mozzarella sticks and sauce remind me of what Sonic was serving 5 years ago (haven't been by a Sonic since then). They're basic foodservice frozen mozzarella sticks with a tomato paste based sauce. I don't get the hype either.
@@sunstonefv5353I agree. They're good, but they're the same as the usual MDR lunch mozzarella sticks, which aren't always the same if they get a different supplier (looking at you, Alaska cruises).
Are you going to be getting on the 9day symphony of the seas sailing out of NYC this summer? Also how many days would you say is too much or too little for days on a cruise?
I think my biggest gripe is not having snack/food options after 9pm - the Cafe Promenade and Sorrentos is good, but Royal could do better. If I get the munchies, can I hit a spot for that? Maybe something to consider.
I know, without a doubt, that I am going to have Sorrento's pizza daily on every cruise. When we get on board, Sorrento's has sort of become our 'go-to' first destination. It's like, we get to the ship, go through embarkation, and get on board, and then hit up Sorrento's. It's like, "okay, NOW we are officially on our cruise!"
I actually think Sorento's is really tasty. One of my favorite things ever was the chicken strips on Chill Island (I think our cabana attendant said he cut up the chicken sandwich...they were delicious).
I was disappointed with the ice cream, soft serve cones. It's gritty and not smooth or creamy. If I had to guess, it is ice milk. I wish it was like DQ, and I'd get it every day. As it is, it's not even worth getting with so many other delicious options on board.
Just got off a cruise last month and I think my gf must've eaten at least two dozen ranger cookies if not more. Every time we stopped in the Windjammer, if they had them, she was eating them
I have never understood why so many people fall over themselves to get the Kummelwick sandwich onboard. Way too much bread, and the meat (contrary to what's shown here) is often fatty and/or dry. There are *way* better cuts of meat on board any major RC ship, imo.
I'm addicted to the soft serve "ice cream". I'm sure other snacks are more unique and even better but I can't help it. The one thing I laugh at is that it is called "Sprinkles" when there are no sprinkles available.
If I’m being honest this kind of list should be separated by “sweet” and “savory” because if I’m being honest- being able to choose between the Cococay mozzarella sticks and the ice cream in the parlor… couldn’t decide as far as “favorite snack” (among other choices)
I know it shouldn't... but the fact that they call them Raisin Oatmeal Cookies instead of Oatmeal Raisin like they're called everywhere else really irks me!
I wish all the blogger’s would at least mention gluten free options. I am going on my third gluten free cruise on Royal Caribbean next February but otherwise I’m limited on cruise destinations. Cookies everywhere on this list. Are we sure Emma didn't write this? I think pizza is my favourite snack on board a cruise ship, and Sorrento's does the job, but it's not the greatest - I equate it to the slices that some chain pizza places sell you. I think that if they gave you more options to top off your pizza - oregano, powdered garlic, evoo etc - it would enhance the slices more.
I just feel like the guacamole on Royal Caribbean el loco fresh shouldn’t be allowed to be called guacamole! It tastes like the “guacamole” from the grocery store which tastes more like a processed dip.
Oh you mean, Royal’s Pizza Pate’. Raw crap they call pizza. If they cook it enough, it’s good. I almost always have to ask them to make me a pizza and to “almost burn it”. That way, at least it’s cooked. I really don’t understand how any passengers can call their undercooked pizza, “good”. SMH
US-style pizza is just unappealing to Australians - our taste is to have lots of different toppings on a pizza. We look at pizzas with just pepperoni, and think ugh… boring and bland.

The funnel cakes at snack shop in Coco Cay!! Hubs likes the brownies there.

2 ranger cookies + ice cream scoops from the buffet = the best ice cream sandwich on sea.
