    Excellent talk. Thanks for this.
In 2014 I was involved in an Archeological investigation of St Leonard's Hospital in North Shields. It was the a hospital maintained on the edge of Tynemouth from the 11th Century. Buried by the altar in the chapel there were the remains of a man. Over 6ft tall with lots of injuries associated with horse riding and fighting, he also had very bad teeth a mark of a high status diet back then. He had likely died from a massive chest wound. His sternum was crushed in. Maybe when the order came to return Malcolm to Scotland, a century later, the wrong body was sent North. All the sources seem to assume being buried at Tynemouth meant Tynemouth Priory but maybe that assumptions wrong and Scotland's great king is still buried on Tyneside....
