I'm listening to this in the early hours of New Years Day (2025) after having listened to Ralph Fiennes a few minutes ago. I always revisit ""Little Gidding" at the end-beginning of each year. I find much peace and serenity in these lines as I reflect on the mystery of time and the questions of our existence as each year rolls on like a wave and makes way for another. There are many excellent readings of Eliot but Sir Alec's version is, in my opinion, the best. "We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. Through the unknown, unremembered gate When the last of earth left to discover Is that which was the beginning;"
Thank you so much for this upload... I've been obsessed with his interpretation of 'Four Quartets' for a long time and this video shows how well-equipped he was to help us understand T.S. Eliot's mind.
