I don't know if this was an intentional goal, but love that Rachel's always seeming to tackle working with interesting materials. She's also always making me laugh. :D
I LOVE how comprehensive Rachel was with this video, covering methods and tools and just answering all my questions before I realized I had them. WELL DONE! This is one of the best videos SG has made.
Oh my goodness!!! I'm so excited about this video! My husband is a truck driver, and a while ago, he made a delivery to an acrylic manufacturing company. They had huge crates outside of their scrap that they were throwing away, so he got permission to get some from it. He brought home several sizes and thicknesses of acrylic scraps for me to DIY, but I haven't had many ideas on what to do with them.
I swear as soon as I think about wanting to do a particular DIY, The Sorry Girls are a step ahead of me and I’m soooooo grateful. These came out great! 💕
I gotta say, I was on the fence when Rachel joined TSG, but I just love her!!! I love how she has such a calming tone of voice in her videos, and she is so stinking creative! A+++ job on getting her on the team Becky & Kelsey!
I loved working with acrilic in my school's metal working class We had a special thingo that you sat it on the softened a line for bending it , was fun and satisfying
I love Rachel’s videos! I love how she experiments with different materials and provides lots of info but it’s not overwhelming. Great work! And the coffee table turned out even better than the original plan :)
This is the kinda a content we need! Plexi can be finnicky, and you gave us helpful tips, so thank you. (Sidenote: are you able to tell us where the mid-cent coffee table at 13:39 is from?)
A cheap crosscut blade is not going to produce an edge good enough to solvent weld. You also run the risk of chipping and melting the plastic. If you're going to cut acrylic you really want a blade specific for the material.
Just an idea with acrylic -- but I would be so into it -- maybe you could do a led light with acrylic plastic (mat or with a mat sticker on top to diffuse the light). Like those hexagones lights you see in gaming spaces, or more round shapes if you feel like it
Hey Rachel, can u tell me how you secured the orange shelf to the wall that you made please. U have given me an idea and really want to get it right 😻😻😻😻 thanks and great vid as always ❣️
This is such a helpful video, I’ve been wanting to make display cases for my trinkets and I think acrylic would be nicer than interior opaque shelves. What is the best way to smooth edges so they don’t look like they were cut by an amateur?
OMG I just discovered that Rachel has an acting background. So cool how the stars aligned so she could shine the most. Did she talked about this in some video?
I personally am not a fan of plastic furniture or decor and I don't see it as sustainable. If you like that sort of thing, and it seems many people do, then I would source the acrylic only from thrift stores or marketplace, etc. Buying scraps from acrylic distributors is still new acrylic, so it ought to be a last resort, IMHO. I do know that plastic for some things is a necessary evil e.g. phones, computers, etc., but it would still be good to phase as much as we can out of our lives. That said, Rachael is very creative. ♥ I'd just rather see her being creative with more sustainable materials. No shade, just my opinion. :)
Fully agree, it's also still creating waste with all the scraps. And these are very trendy things that are likely not going to be a staple of your decor for decades so in a few years they will still end up as residue.
Love that Rachel is becoming more and more open and organic on the camera instead of so “step by step here’s what the videos about” she seems to be having a lot more fun and the confidence is shinning through !
This is great, I love educational/instructional content! I would have liked to see actual video of how you fixed the coffee table because problem solving is ...probably half of DIY work, so it would be good to see it go down in detail rather than just cut to finished piece. Great work!
Being someone who group in the 70's calling furniture form the 60's and 70's mid century modern is incorrect. Mid-century Modern is referencing the 1950's. The 1960's and 1970's is more of the space age designs.
No offense but I feel it would have been better to just avoid all plastics given the poor results of this experiment. After all, you said you try not to use plastic so keep going.
I know the precedent is to ignore any comments about safety, but I think it would really be a good look for your channel if you spoke about and used proper safety guidelines for the equipment and materials you use- like masks/respirators with the proper kind of filtration for a given project, what kinds of tools need gloves (and specifically do not need them, ie ones where gloves are more likely to pull your hand in), and what kind of gloves, ladder safety (how to tell if your ladder is safe, how to tie it of properly, etc). It also might keep you, your employees, and your fans from getting injured, and it really, really is not that difficult to incorporate.
Yay! A Rachel video. I love Rachel she has such a sweet smile. She brings such a fun perspective to the sorry girls and isn't afraid to try new things like cement mixing and now acrylic. A great addition to TSG team.
Please don’t use the backside. If your hand slips its going right onto the sharp end of the blade. Ultimately if you’re using sharp tools and pressure you should invest in a pair of gloves. Fun projects aren’t worth permanent damage y’all!
I really like her too, she's quite different from Becky and Kelseys style, and in the beginning, there were some harsh critics about her joining which was pretty ignorant. This was a great DIY video
Actually the final coffee table is even better, much more dynamic. I love when obstacles become opportunities
The coffee table design got much cooler after the adjustments 👌
I totally agree😃
seriously I think it got so much cooler with the leg extensions underneath!
and much more practical for storage!
I don't know if this was an intentional goal, but love that Rachel's always seeming to tackle working with interesting materials. She's also always making me laugh. :D

I love how neat you are with your diys, you're probably the most detail oriented of the group - and I love it. These works look so professional.
I love that rachel is just experimenting and exploring modern materials in her videos. Can't wait to see her creations develop !!!
rach is one to watch for sure!🥰🥰
The score n’ snap! Works every time! 💅🏼
good one! 😄💅
That’s what I thought the whole rest of the video 😂😂
Was looking for this comment!
LOL

This was really fascinating! Loved Rachel’s vibe and even how mistakes turned out to be brilliant!
Rachel is the perfect addition to the Sorry Girls 💗 and I always love the videos she makes
❤❤❤

I love this. I have clear Ludwig drums and everything in my room is clear. Thanks for posting this.
She’s like the DIY teacher we’ve always wanted! X
the final coffee table 😱😍
I loved working with acrilic in my school's metal working class
We had a special thingo that you sat it on the softened a line for bending it , was fun and satisfying
Loved that you explained the process so clearly, for example describing types of blades to use.
Fabulous and fun video!
An acrilic top on the magazine rack with something cute would finish off that piece nicely ❤
I love Rachel! 💖 just a cool project!
I absolutely love Rachel, you are so sweet, beautiful and talented!!!💛
All of the pieces are sooooo cool and inspiring 💫
Love everything, but think you should wear a mask when you cut the acrylic. Safety first!
I loved everything and I want it all.
The way you saved that table so well
Y’all always make everything look so easy!
Also I agree with all of the other comments, Rachel is an amazing addition!
For some reason I think it's so endearing that you marked it with the cute tiny markers 😂 Very relatable to my chaotic apartment DIYing
You could build a "wall" for the magazine table. Hot glue a sheet of acrylic to one of the sides to stabilise it?
It is so nice to see your approach on acrylics. I would have made spice rack.
Rachel with the sick manicures
Love this!!! Albums would look awesome in the magazine rack.
The only reason I don't like to work with acrylic is the microplastic that it it produces when we have to cut it :(
Youu can wear a mask and then clean it up with vacuum that has a bag
I love Rachel’s videos! I love how she experiments with different materials and provides lots of info but it’s not overwhelming. Great work! And the coffee table turned out even better than the original plan :)
Girls using bad ass power tools with perfect nails is everything I needed to see today
I'm wondering as you say you try to be sustainable, where do you put the cut off plastic like the sawdust " mirco plastic"
Absolutely loved the table and love Rachael even more ❤️
These are so fun! Not sure I will ever try them. But they look awesome!
Oh and I am loving your vids more and more Rachel!
Thank you! I will use it for my shoes, to organize them better on my closet shelves, one acrilic table for each pair of shoes 👟 👟 😊
You could make a wine rack/shelf with this method! I think it could be very cool 😍
I’ve been wanting to try this! Nice job!
good save on the coffee table
Important thing to take account: Don’t breath in the fumes while melting! Make sure you’re also doing it at a well ventilated area!
When I see Rachel I click right in, Every, Single, Time.
This is the kinda a content we need! Plexi can be finnicky, and you gave us helpful tips, so thank you. (Sidenote: are you able to tell us where the mid-cent coffee table at 13:39 is from?)
Use heat or flame along the edges to smooth and gloss up the cut edges
the coffee table was SO amazing in its final form, thank goodness for happy accidents!! :)

Rachel is cool, I like her
Thanks for giving a end depth discussion on this.. it makes it less intimidating to try
YES RACHEL!! Love her ❤️❤️❤️
I would do a little acrylic trash can for the desk.
Just an idea with acrylic -- but I would be so into it -- maybe you could do a led light with acrylic plastic (mat or with a mat sticker on top to diffuse the light). Like those hexagones lights you see in gaming spaces, or more round shapes if you feel like it
Loved it 😍
rachael would make a great attack on titan annie cosplay 😍
THANK YOU i have been wanting acrylic nightstands but they are sooo expensive!
Were there any fumes when you were using the heat gun? Thank you.
Could you please show us the stability of the finished Coffee table?
Hey Rachel, can u tell me how you secured the orange shelf to the wall that you made please. U have given me an idea and really want to get it right 😻😻😻😻 thanks and great vid as always ❣️
Yey.. you guys made my request 😍 and that result is cool!!
This was one of the best DIY videos in a long time!
Is it just me or did the coffee table turn out even better when it was shortened than the original idea for it?
THANK YOU
Oh wow😲😍,so I can do this and not pay outrageous prices on acrylics pieces of furniture!
Super like
I grow to LOVE Rachael ❤️
SAMEEE
You should ambient this video with some Plastic Love cover :)
This is amazing! I’m so inspired to find some acrylic now!
these are useful!!! ❤
HOLY SMOKES is that an arch pocket door @ 14:13? Or is it a barn door? 🤔
Do the edges need to be sanded or finished in some way?
Idk if this is recommended but I’ve cut acrylic with a blade on a wood burner.
I’ve replaced broken vinyl windows with plexiglass. Helps when you’re on a budget and or time crunch
Which acrylic supplier did you go too?
I need a custom acrylic console table for my bedroom to match the height of my bed
Where can I get a good amount of plexiglass to do this? In US they only sell 8”x10” or 12”x12”/ one square foot.
Does anyone know If this could be done with a hair dryer as a heat source? :)
Is there ever a time when we see all three sorry girls together.
Rachel is just darling
I hope u upload more videos 🥺🥺
This is such a helpful video, I’ve been wanting to make display cases for my trinkets and I think acrylic would be nicer than interior opaque shelves. What is the best way to smooth edges so they don’t look like they were cut by an amateur?
picture frame, ashtray, plants pot.... 5th grade that's what we did at CRAFT class lmao
Immediately asked my husband if we owned a heat gun.
even if you excuse in advance....so not sustainable as you mentioned, that's not what your followers or the world need. I'm dissapointed

@@feraguilar4175 Very likely, unfortunately. :'(
@@CaliMel184 Good points. I am grateful that others share my viewpoint. ♥ Our planet needs a lot more love and fewer decor trends. ♥

I am so here for this! I like these training style videos.
glad you like them!! we try to be as informative as we can😊
Such a happy accident with the larger piece because I think it’s so much more useful and visually interesting!! Great idea Rachel can’t wait to copy🥰😊
No offense but I feel it would have been better to just avoid all plastics given the poor results of this experiment. After all, you said you try not to use plastic so keep going.
I love Rachel and her contribution to the Sorry Girls team…She is so informative and I love how she shows other shows..very cool!

Every single time all your projects come out amazingly beautiful!!!
Please please be careful! I know someone that was seriously hurt from cutting acrylic. Take all precautions!
Wow, plastics. So not sustainable Rachel. No matter where it comes from.
The coffee table came out amaaaaazing!!! I love it SO MUCH! Storing it away for future me in a future house. 🖤🖤🖤
Hunny sign is looking like a fried egg
Love those boots with the pretty femme dress
I always look forward to Rachael's videos! She is so charming and overall a great addition to the team! ♥
I really like her too, she's quite different from Becky and Kelseys style, and in the beginning, there were some harsh critics about her joining which was pretty ignorant. This was a great DIY video
This was SO COOL! I'm (supposedly) getting a heat gun for Christmas, and now I'm even more excited than I was for all the things I could make!
