I listen to all different genres of music, literally from the 1920s to now. This it's one of my favorite songs still to this day for so many reasons. I can tell you right now that your ears have just been blessed. I'm a former singer and there's reasons why he brought in the choir as a background when it comes to his composition. First off he wanted to juxtapose the violence with something so beautiful. He wants you to hear the violence with the imagery of the versus of the lyrics. But he wants to counterbalance that put something absolutely angelic. And your mind goes to the risks of what will happen on the other song continues on this path. The flip side of this is that you will hear a choir singing at their funeral. Do you understand how this is TWO sides of the SAME coin? This is just one example of why this is such an amazing song. This song actually makes me cry still to this day and people don't understand how it is. I can't even say how many times it's amazing. I want to say THIS is amazing a million but the word amazing doesn't do it justice. The way that he does his lyrics and comes down on the LAST DOWN BEAT... it's almost on a 1/2 beat behind at the closing off for each line. Listen to it again.... You hear it clearly when he says the world FOOL! That's because with that break it actually lasts a little bit longer about 2 seconds longer than the other ones do. I have been a long time Coolio fan and yes he's been my secret boyfriend in my brain for a long time too but that is neither here nor there sweetheart. People for some reason many ways I feel underrated his music he seem to fail off after this with a couple more hours Go off into his own direction. Those of us who loved him stuck around, the others just took off and you don't see them decades later. They kind of knew about him beforehand, but then they became real fans when this movie came out. Honestly, I never saw the movie... I don't even want to. I don't want to ruin what his music is to me by watching it used in this movie. So yeah for as long as this movie's been out I've never actually watched it. The clips that you see here of this movie is exactly ALL of what I've seen of it. I understand the premise because I understand what was going on at the time cuz I lived through it.
