Genuinely…. World rugby should give this man a grant or something If we had 1 of him per nation the growth of rugby would be worth its weight in gold This is up there with the top level soccer stuff and more Instant video goes up I watch it doesn’t matter if it’s teams I wouldn’t even watch highlights of I watch his take on it
Was hoping to see Prendergast brought on earlier but just seeing that cheeky kick was enough for this game. Hope he's at least on the bench for the Bulls game
Agreed on Larmour, he is a very talented player, but sometimes, I just think he takes too many steps with the ball when quite often there's offload opportunities to push on more.
Watched your preview of this match a few days back - thought your question about Caelan Doris' form quite accurate. The Ross Byrne situation is going to keep on being a point of contention because he simply is not consistently at the level needed to play in that position. As you point out, his kicking from hand (especially in defensive situations) is not good enough. Perhaps Leo & Jacques know something about Ciaran Frawley that the rest of us don't - next Saturday in South Africa we can expect the Bulls to up the pressure on Ross Byrne. It was encouraging to see Leinster kick their goals today instead of aiming for the corner.
The back three is relatively easy to pick this summer we (Ireland) are blessed to have so many options across all the provinces. Keenan moving to 7’s this summer allows some depth to build at Full back as when keenan is fit he will play 98% of minutes in the year. Jimmy O’Brien will be first choice FB with Keenan out for the meantime. But the talent seen from: Tommy O’Brien (Lein) Shane Daly (Mun) Calvin Nash (Mun) Michael Lowery (Ulster) Then obviously the first choice Mack Hansen and James Lowe Across this season is promising and offers good competition amongst positions for future international tests and tournaments
The problem with Leinster is Jacques Nienaber. He’s trying to completely change the way that Leinster play, with result that they’re slower all round the field especially in ruck speed and passing. They also kick the ball and possession, away far too much. However, later in the game today, the players reverted to their natural instincts and their natural skills as whatever coaching instructions had been given to them, were disregarded. Why is Nienaber being allowed to interfere to such an extent, trying to fix what isn’t broken. I understand that he was brought in to win competitions but so far he has failed….
Great comment.Leinster seem to be constantly vulnerable on both wings and depend on a scramble defence. Leinster let in too many soft scores imo and all opposition are recognising how to play them. How many effective cross kicks over the Leinster defence have we seen in the last few games- too many for my liking 😮
Took a while for O’Brien to settle . Couldn’t catch a bus in first half. Pendergast a growing star. Still not convinced by Ross Byrne. He lacks that magic extra.
I think the Byrne brothers and larmour need to go we need a shake up.. import a 10 like ulster did and use predergast as backup, Doris is not a captain either yet
I'll tell you this much; im sick of being a Leinster fan. FFS, so annoying. We should be the best and yet we put out our second teams. I'm considering supporting Munster, FFS.
I wouldn't necessarily agree when he tralls out the same Ross Byrne crap.I don't know why the media, broadcasters etc.have this problem with him.Leo Cullen obviously doesn't,he wouldn't be playing 10 for Leinster if he did.Look at this man's stats don't follow some of the narrow minded thick ah! Idiots who follow this sport. It's becoming a bit boring and a bit childish at this stage.
So he is good enough to play for Leinster? He would have come in directly after johnny sexton retired only he was injured.Bad timing that's all that was and he has played many times for ireland.
It’s had to be taken in context. He does a fine job for most games even at European level and when on form can even do a job at international level. But he has limitations and will obviously be compared to Sexton who he has replaced for the big games. It has to be said the Leinster didn’t get over the line in 22’ either even with Sexton at OH but he was a level up from Ross Byrne. Given where Ireland and Leinster are at now they expect to have one of the very best players in the world in every position so it is a very high standard to which players like Ross Byrne are being judged.
I have a feeling Sam is staying and will be back up to Ross next year. I hope so. Interesting to see if he's picked next week. I thought Leinster were in control for most of the game. Ulster full back needs learn how to tackle. The Bulls were given a scare by Benetton today. If Leinster hit their stride they can win out there. Then the trek back home to face, maybe Munster. Its been a great URC season so far with all these great games.
I would disagree on Ross Byrne honestly, Tim... He's fine. Steady eddy. But it's so frustrating the flair Leinster lack at 10 when he's out there. It's been incredibly evident in the big games. Team should be built around Frawley or Prendergast at 10 next season.
Big difference with Prendergast is that he squares up defenders and that makes a huge difference. Ross Byrne might run the training weeks better than the other fly half’s due to his experience in the squad but unfortunately that doesn’t translate to a performance.
Tim, not ideal to play an away semii against the bulls. But that said it gives a few of the Leinster internationals some experience at altitude ahead of the tests in July.
Well done Lenister and Ulster a great game!! But what about Lowe keeping the ball in play and scoring a try WOW Then Prendergast !! a little flick WOW So like the great man Zebo !!!!!!!!!!
I don't give a shit if RB did well today. We need a no. 10 and it aint Ross. So fucking sick of people defending him. He's not good enough. He's never been good enough.
Think If it`s Leinster v Glasgow final we would have home advantage in Dublin as we are the highest remaining seed? Big ask but hey we can live in hope
Just in the door from the match....feeling reassured after that. They did the biz and yes Ross Moloney was fine today but wish they had put Prendergast on a bit earlier. Now on to SA...oxygens masks anyone? 😁
Not that i think it'd change the result leinster were so so lucky to keep 14 men on the pitch at the end of the first half especially dorris thats a stonewall penalty try and yellow card for me mauls going forward and he swims onto the ball carrier and drags it down and then after that warning ryan plays the arm the next play
I enjoyed meeting you at the Heineken Cup (Yeah, I know) final. Fanboy embarrassment. I've been listening to the podcast for years, so was good to meet you.
You’re so right about Larmour. He’s been so much better this season because he doesn’t stop and step anymore. It works against weak defenders, good ones just smash him every time he does it
Byrne was ok but thats not good enough for this Leinster team(it shouldnt be 50/50 if hes going to have a good day). Prendergast really needs to get more first team reps next season tomreally bringnon his development (he could do with bulking out a bit this coming off season). Have to agree there really was a drop off when Mcgrath came on, i think Cormac Foley should be getting more first team reps also, he has more going for him and brings more speed to the game.
Only slight criticism of JGP is that I thought he overplayed the blind side on Sat and once again he kicked the ball ahead when in opposition 22 - WHY?? He seems to do that on occasions instead of keeping the ball alive when we have momentum. I agree that I think Leinster will get better and game time for frontlines will be a big plus to rebuild the cohesion that has been a hallmark of Leinster in recent years. Will need to be on our game in South Africa.
Great game, ulster were very good, pity about injuries but that leinster pack are class, leo needs to learn next season to stop playing weaker teams in important games,no way would we have lost those two league games to ulster if leo had put out slightly stronger teams, likewise for the trip to south africa, lambs to slaughter,we cant keep doing this next season.
Yet again we flatter deceive , we are going to get mullered in Pretoria when we try a South African blitz defence against a South African team, we are v average without Ringrose, Keenan and we don’t have a first class out half and it’s a consequence of a mistake strewn season
@@lizzyhanahoe4197 I hope I am wrong and would be happy to be so , but Leinster haven’t played well for 80 mins this season. Also they are knocking down where I have had my season ticket for 15 years
Spot on with your take on Ulster. Heading into the summer with optimism about what Richie Murphy can do with a good pre-season. Hopefully Humph taking over in HQ will be a positive for all 4 provinces.
Richie Murphy will make great use of the summer break for Ulster, proper coach. Back to back grand slams for the Irish u20s says alot. Leinster looking dangerous but last four is anybody's for the title Whoever wins will have to earn it, please God let it be Munster.
Ulster fan...really just not the same quality of players across the park as Leinster, but the front 5 was/is a real weakness for ulster. Think our back row was good today (pity izzy had to go off early) and big stew had a great game (his last potentially) I like Stewart Moore but, other than the try, he had a real shocker at the back today. If you look at ulsters 18-26yr olds, there is talent there to work with but we gonna need time and supplementary quality players brought in too. Good luck Leinster and Munster 🤞
Agreed. Even from a Leinster fan point of view, though disagreeing that Doris had done anything wrong, once the referee had made the decision that an infringement had occurred, I expected him to issue yellow and a penalty try. Strange that he didn’t.
Yeah but I'm sure Ulster got away with a few iffy calls in the past too. It's swings and roundabouts really. I still think Leinster would have won the game regardless.
That little kick from Prendegast was 'chefs kiss'
That was next level cool, the lad is pure class
Absolute baller
Lowe's soft touch well judged too
How good has Robbie Henshaw been over the last few weeks!! I thought he was exceptional again yesterday 🎉

totally agree - long tough season for Ulster but a lot of talent and pride - deserve to bank their gains and recharge as you say.
JGP was EVERYWHERE but monster shift from Joe McCarthy - Timoney and Cooney deserves a mention for Ulster
Prendergast should be given more game time, he’s the real deal 💙

Good win for Leinster but they seem to have lost the flair they had under Stu Lancaster . Nienaber is slowing their game and killing their flair
The flair has drop but is it Nienaber or Byrne ? Prendergast put flair back into the team for the short run he had.
@@Finderskeepers.Byrne ran the attack all of last season. It's Goodman that's the problem
