This movie is so underrated! And that ending.... 😮 Edit: I think people dislike Halloween 3 because Michael Myers wasn't in it...and not because it's a bad movie... which it isn't. I can watch it on repeat ad nauseum.
People were so blind to the fact and so in a way obsessed with the myers, they could not fathom the ending of the no 2, where he was for real blown up with the dr loomis. Even carpenter had planned the no 2 to end the run. It took months for support to really grow strong from fans clammering for a 3rd movie to get them thinking. In the meantime the 3rd movie had already been worked out and filming had started. It grew to a point during and after the 3rd movie was finished that carpenter gave the og ahead for a 4th movie with myers returning. Sadly unknown people with no acting back ground were chosen to be the different characters in the 4th film. Doctor loomis and the sheriff weere the only good players in the film. the two young women that were more or less the main characters were not good at all .
Tom Atkins is still as charismatic as ever! I hated this movie as a 5 year old when I watched it while it was playing on cable because it shared the shit out of me because I watched the kid and his family get locked in a room and killed. Watching it again as an adult, I find the ending to be masterful and ahead of its time.
A Masterpiece. A stand-out from the Series in which context it does not really belong into because the Series is Michael Myers. Therefore almost all just regard this movie among the Halloween Series. In Fact it is just another marvelous movie from John Carpenter's Reign. It is just as superb as "The Fog", "Christine", "The Thing" and all these gems. Halloween 3 forever ! And it has a best ending. What better AND more import Message can be shouted out into this misguided world than to "TURN THE TV OFF! TURN IT OFF !" ?!

Fantastic.. still stands as one of the bleakest, gut-punch endings to a movie I've ever seen.
I grew up on II and III. Always love III.
I am glad i met Tom Atkins at the flasback weekend a few years ago he's the best.

To be technically accurate.....Michael Myers was in this movie too...even if it was just a 10 second movie promo.....😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉
