I think Shigure Ui's reaction was the best for me so far. She just understand what's going on right away (monika erase the game) and try understanding the lyrics, cause actually it is so deep. Visual Novel games just break me. When I was at Uni, I was in kind of a bad place mentally and thought that a VN Game might help me. But Katawa Shoujo just snapped me through the middle. It just reminded me off how much my life wasn't this romanticized version of School. That meeting girls, and having friends and going to trips and adventures with them to grow closer, just didnt happen for me. And DDLC just made me feel so terribly sorry for Monika despite what she did. And when the credits started, I was just as broken as back then.
Yeah, Katawa Shoujo is just 😘👌🤌🤌🤌 I didn't play it per se, but I watched the entire LP by VoicesFromTheDark (rip his playlist) and it helped me getting through one of the hard times.

I like how the game destroys itself on the way out. Like a rock band smashing their instruments, and needs to be reinstalled to play it again. This game really was a half life, doom, civilization level all time masterpiece.
Just because of the song, it's the only music I can play in piano, and I don't know how to read notes or sheet music. Just played the piano like a rhythm game to practice the song.
well the game is designed for western audiences and sensibilities despite being a parody of jp vns so that might affect the effect it has on them, since they're more likely to take vns seriously whereas westerners are more likely to be "self aware" about it
