Kick ass dude. I love the CZ P 10 C. I dont have enough rounds thru mind to make a determination but the ergos and stock trigger are waaaaay better than all of my beloved Glocks...
I hope CZ gets my P10c fixed soon. My trigger would not reset right out of the box without me manually pulling it back out to reset. My ejection was very weak also with brass just hitting me in the foot. They have it now with a 4 week turnaround expectation. Kind of dissatisfaction right now I was really looking forward to this being a great gun!
I think its cool to be tinkering with these things man! You're right, there is hardly any after market for it yet. Thus by doing these little tweaks it should help some others just experiment and such to tune their comp gun!
My P-10C holster was a custom job since they didn't have any molds for it at the time. I loaned them my black P10 to make it. They quoted two weeks, but I had it in one.
Nice recap... I have about 1,000 reds through mine thus far.. love it, been using my G19 for IDPA at Eagle Guns in Concord, NC, but next session I am going to use the P10c and see how it does... I do wish TruGlo made sights for the CZ's. I have the TFX Pros on my G19 and XD Mod2 4" and love them..
Have a look at Shield SMS red dot instead of RMR. That's the one that fits Glock MOS's flush, so that it co-witnesses with standard sights. A CZ P-10c or P-10s with SMS red dot and APLc light is my dream gun.
Alot of people saying there is a significant, noticeable difference in how the trigger and controls feel on the fde compared to the black. Did you notice any difference. I've heard a couple people say that the fde was "better" smoother, more crisp than the black.
Conpared to my black, my fde trigger was 1/2# lighter at 5.5#, the break isn't as crisp, but has less over travel. Both are glass smooth after wearing in. My local ffl has an fde that measures 4.5# but isn't as smooth. Triggers aren't very consistent and you don't really know what you'll end up with until firing a few hundred rounds. If you're ffl has more than one, try them all and pick the one with the best trigger.
Mine is a Black frame and when i got it it averaged 4lb 12oz over 5 pulls, After 750 rounds it Avg 4lb 5 oz. It is a pretty nice crisp break but if you pull really slow you can feel just a slight hitch before the break, I'm hoping it will work itself out with use and even if it doesn't it's still a damn nice trigger.
For fun? I'm the engineering type and I like to tinker with stuff. Plus, the gun is so new that there are zero spare or aftermarket parts available, so I'm experimenting with options. If it works great, if not, I'll let people know so they won't waste money trying themselves. The Glock and P10 have the same reciprocating mass, though the P10 barrel is 1oz heavier, and the recoil and striker springs have the same inner and outer diameters. So trying out a Glock spring is not much different than trying a Wolff or ISMI spring. And at least with those, I know the spring rate. I have no reservations about mixing manufacturers. I have friends who hate when they see a Chevy LS motor swapped into a Ford or *gasp* an import, but that kind of thing never bothers me. I'm sure someone will get butthurt when I have my slide milled for an RMR and a Glock rear sight.
Hey man, great videos. How is the front of your striker looking? Not the actual nipper that contacts the primer but the face right behind that where the striker contacts the inside of the slide (back of the breech face) on dry fire. Mine is smashed all up and CZ responded to my email inquisition but saying they should not be dry fired without snap caps.
Earl, good video. Please tell me how comfortable that Lux holster is for EDC? Especially sitting or driving a car. Do you know any other confirmed holster fits for the P10C? Thanks.
The Lux is about as "comfortable" as any other light bearing AIWB. I did a 6 hour drive with mine and while it was starting to get annoying, I wasn't racing to take it off once I got to my hotel. Since it doesn't have rivets underneath the trigger guard, there's no sharp edge of kydex digging into my groin and it holds the gun high on the belt too. It's narrow enough that I can shift it closer to 1 o'clock without blocking my zipper. For driving, it also helps to stage the lap belt behind the grip of the gun. I'm 6'1" 175lbs if that helps.
Earl I get trying to get trying to be creative but mixing and matching parts from glocks on these cz just doesn't sound safe. If you are trying to review the cz people are interested in what it can actually do in reliability, accuracy and ergo. Not see a frankinstein gun mixed with cz and glock parts. All in all I wish you the best with your competitive shooting and future videos. Good luck and stay safe o7
Thanks. Not really reviewing the gun as much as experimentation and observations. All the review data has been covered by plenty of other people. I left my FDE stock since it's my CCW. I weighed the slide assemblies and barrels of the P10 and my Glock19. The P10 barrel is 1 oz heavier, but the slides are the same weight. Calipers confirmed that the guide rods have identical dimensions except for length. The OD and ID of the recoil springs is also identical. Same story with the striker spring. All that's changing is spring pre-load and rate. As much as this gun is influenced by the Glock19, I'm surprised they didn't just cut the rear dovetail for Glock sights.
As long as its made clear that its not a review of the factory cz sounds great. I am glad to see guys like you have the curiosity a and ingenuity to try something different. When I watch your reviews it sounds like you are saying the gun itself is having malfunctions when you are actually trying to explain what happened and why it may have happened. If you make it clear at the beginning that you are experimenting with the cz and these are some of the things thats happened as a result it may lead to less people jumping the gun lol and expressing concern. Great vids and keep up the good work just be alittle more upfront if possible before going into these problems and it should be a great series.
i mean no disrespect but i can't really take this 2000 round update as a testament to the pistol because you have done some significant mods to it...so any failures or triumphs can't really be taken as valid data.
None taken. This isn't intended to be a product review/recommendation. There are other people who make money doing that. This just me learning about the gun, trying stuff out, and reporting what I observed in my limited sample size.
Do you have any more info on the slide stop spring malfunction you had? I am unable to disengage the slide stop to send the slide forward without gloves and it does not "auto forward" when I slam a mag home. Maybe it will loosen up when I start putting rounds through it?
Basically, once I bent the spring to match the FDE it was fine. Part of the problem is the back oxide CZ applies. It leaves a rough surface, kind of like parkerizing, Once the oxide wears off everything smooths up considerably.
I try to avoid doing videos where I can't add info that hasn't already been covered by other people. I did a write up a few months ago though: minivandoorgunner.blogspot.com/2016/11/jagerwerx-glock-rmr-cut-and-cerakote.html
Do me a favor, please. If you find a place to do your RMR cut, let me know!!! I've contacted Steve at JagerWerks and they said they were researching it but not ready to do them yet. And I'm waiting on a reply from CajunGunWorks to see if they can do it.
So far I've gotten replies from ATEI and Fire-4-Effect. F4E is modeling one up to see what they can do. ATEI replied that the RMR is 100% doable, and they're 90% on adding top serrations.. I'm also waiting on BattleWerx but they are moving shops right now so it will probably be a while. I'm waiting to hear back from a few more, but I plan to choose one and send mine out a few weeks.
I'm leaning toward fire-4-effect. The P-10 factory rear sight dovetail and striker assembly cutouts don't allow full rearward placement of the RMR. The threaded mounting posts that F-4-E uses give a little more thread engagement than just milling the area flat and adding holes since the area underneath one of the holes would only be 3-4 threads deep. Also, when my type 1 RMR eventually dies, it will get replaced by a type 2, so custom fitting might not be the best way to go, though I doubt there's any real difference dimensionally between RMRs.
I would say check with Mark Housel at L&M Precision Gunworks... he did my P-07s and they turned out great. He milled a new rear dovetail so the RMR could be mounted in front of the rear sight - the sights he used were custom Dawsons and he drilled the front sight for fiber. He also shortened the extractor pin since the front right corner of the RMR covers it.
I prefer fine stippling. Enough friction to be effective without tearing up my shirts or skin. I've had rubber Talons before but they were too slippery. I tried the grip tape versions on my FDE. They felt good but were a little grabby, catching on my shirt and such. I used them as templates for the outlines on my FDE instead of blue tape. I'd run the griptape versions if I wasn't going to stipple, and probably only on the smooth portions of the frame. I like the factory blocks, just wish they'd do the entire grip with them.
Lol. Sorry, about that. I can't see the screen of my iPhone when it's on the tripod. Yes I know a real video camera would be better but I'd rather spend my $ guns and stuff. Here's a much better video on the Lux holster than I could do: ruclips.net/video/WQm_ww5EOLM/видео.html
Hey earl just picked up p10 in fde myself. I'm curious if you've had a sore finger from the trigger safety? It blistered mine, any tips or suggestions?
Yep. Glocks do the same thing to me. I've got the trigger callous. I sanded mine to be flush with the trigger face when depressed. Hoping for a flat trigger from Apex like the one the polymer one they offer for the M&P. Cajun Gun Works is working on one as well.
Just ordered a HB trigger for the CZ P10C. I get the trigger callus similar to my G42&43. Supposed to be easier on the finger. CZ P10 Theta Trigger Kit
I have been admiring all your P-10 videos, thank you! I do have a newbie question? What is the difference of the stock recoil system and the DPM Recoil Reduction System? The CZ-factory branded extension is designed to fit the P07 and does not protrude far enough out in front of the mag tube to align with the bottom of the p10c grip. The mec gar PLUS2 you can get from Greg Cote is a little longer out the front and lines up perfect on a P10C.
Sort of. P-10 mags will work in the p07/p09 but not the other way around. Newer P07/09s are actually shipping with P10 mags. P10 mags have slot cutout for its mag release and an orange follower.
Try fire-4-effect.com for your RMR milling. He started milling the P-07 a while back and he may do the P-10 if you ask. He did some work on my Glock G40 10mm and and some friends pistols as well and all of us were really happy with his work.
why don't you show us how the black stock p10 without the light fits in a Glock holster with no light option. I can tell the holster you have for the black CZ p10c is made for the cz, and not a Glock 19 holster.
The P-10 only sort of fits my non light bearing Glock holsters. On my Raven Phantom and Guncraft Cloak, the P-10 will go all the way in if I back off the retention screws, but it doesn't "click" into place. Doesn't fit at all in my CompTac CTAC or Eidolon without modification. Probably fine in nylon or leather Glock holster, but for Kydex the P-10 really needs a dedicated mold.
Earl An thanks for being honest. I own the P10C, I bought the CZ P10c over the HK Vp9Sk, because of the claim from CZ and Military Arms Channel that the P10C fits Glock holsters, but once I got the CZ P10c I found out that I was lied to. Then I after I spoke to a few Holster Companies, I found out from them that they were receiving numerous phone calls and emails from customers saying the same, that the P10C didn't fit the Glock 19/17 holster. Who ever at CZ thought it was a good idea to promote that lie needs to be sat down & disciplined.
It is still very holster dependent. I am currently carrying the P10 on my duty belt in a G17 Surefire TLR1 holster and it carries just like the Glock did. It fit in my serpa blackhawk holster as well as my appendix rig. So I don't think they are all wrong in saying it fits many glock holsters.
I'm a huge CZ fanboy and am so disappointed in the P10c. The grip feels like a block of wood to me, not texture. So I bought a Polymer SP01 the Phantom. Excellent firearm
Yeah I've taken it apart a bunch of times so stuff gets wiped away. I have been lubricating regularly though. Funny thing is the gun is just as dirty after 500 rounds as 50.
Lol. I take full responsibility for the failures, but I guess it didn't come off that way in the video. Just putting out info, not advocating that people follow my lead. I was just trying stuff because I like experimenting and have the resources to do so. If something doesn't work out I'll say so, and hopefully save someone else the trouble. Cheers.
