I have the Yamaha, and I love it. The number of frets and the pj pick-ups let you play any song you want from pretty much any artist. Some say it's a little on the heavy side, but I just got a wide strap with padding on it, and the weight doesn't bother me at all. I would recommend this bass to anyone.
you said the Sterling's by music man bass pictured had maple neck & fretboards ,but the two shown sure looked like they both had rosewood fretboards. I mean I know they make them in both ,but these featured in this video didn't look like a maple fretboard. looked like there Rosewood fingerboards ,but I've been picking up one of the several Sterling models at The music shop & have just been trying to find the "right one" I even played the short scale version's ,which was the first time in years I played on any short scale bass and I liked it ,but almost feels like playing a reg electric guitar
I'm playing a Squier Classic Vibe Mustang bass. It absolutely fits like a glove. If you adore short scale basses like I do, don't overlook this one! Around $450.00. Worth every cent.
I've always played Ibanez and currently have two different bass guitars one Ibanez 4 string SR & My Ibanez Ergodyne 5 string and love the feel ,tone etc. Ibanez have the smaller necks that I have grown used to ,but Been looking at a Sterling that runs approximately $600-$700 and I like the feel of there necks also!
actually bought an 80 quid Glarry bass as I just wanted a 4 string, my 5 string was annoying me and had no money, tbh pleasantly surprised with it, after I paired it up with some flatwound roto strings. neck like a baseball bat mind you! :) will be in the market for something better soon enough mind you.
I'm playing an Ibanez SRMD200 Mezzo Bass. I love the medium scale, but I am not fond of the active pickups. I don't gig, so I wish this was a passive bass. Frets above the 14th definitely need work. Looking for a 32" passive bass if anyone has suggestions.
Heard the squier jaguar affinity is a solid 32" scale bass. Maybe a little bit "muted" I think I heard a YTer call it? But he said he does enjoy it. I'm thinking about getting one myself because I also want a bass that's passive bit and having trouble finding one.
This is Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 5 on this video not Sterling StingRay 5.
Don't get the Yamaha, it is way too good, light and comfortable for a $200 bass and will spoil your appreciation of overpriced alternatives...
Lol!

Too much talking 😡😡😡😡
I wish you would let us ear the basses sound just a bit without talking.
This is valuable feedback. Thank you!
