    Great for newbies to bible studying, very good way to enlist it into how to navigate through the scriptures and breaking each verse down, word by word. The Thomson Chain Reference bible does this as well, if you're more seasoned with chain referencing the scriptures, this is my absolute go to bible. Thanks for sharing this.

    Say Father I Cast OUT that spirit of arthritis… giving me pain in my hand and I take it into captivity, and destroy its power over my hands and anywhere else in your body … my body is the temple of the Holy Ghost so light and darkness can never EVER dwell together-; GET OUT NOW…in Jesus Mighty Name… keep saying it and the mountain WILL move. Blessed Love Sis beautiful work. God Bless You.

    My Verse Mapping arrived yesterday started this morning with Psalm 90:12 NIV 1984 compared to ESV and NASB 1995 via Bible Hub. My words Heart, Wisdom, same words in all translations then NASB 1995 included the word present so I included as word study and You for God so this i highlighted. I'm excited about this just on #3 for today may try to do something every day so this way I will repeat saying and seeing the verse so it's easy to memorize. I bought 52 week verses and really enjoy the color. Thank you God for using Nicki to be your hands and feet. Continue to guide her heart in following your ways. She is special as You already know.

    Thank you for this. For so long I’ve been wanting to study the Bible/words but do not know how to start or do it. You made it so simple. I just bought your workbook. I also just purchased the berean study Bible which will be my main Bible to read. I currently have the NLT Bible and I’m glad you explained how it would be useful as a secondary Bible but not main. I’ve also just downloaded the Bible hub app too. God definitely answered my prayers and brought me to your channel. Thank you again.

    I like verse mapping, but reading the Word IS enough. People have to start somewhere: It's never all or nothing. That kind of talk can be discouraging to babes in Christ.

    • @Mb2IseeU
      @Mb2IseeU 2 года назад +1

      I am new to the Bible. I didn’t grow up in the Church. So just reading it most of the time has to be enough. Or I feel overwhelmed most of the time. Watching podcasts like this helps, but alone, deep dives are feel like too much.

    • @nickidrake
      @nickidrake  2 года назад +2

      I will be posting a follow-up video to this with my mom, she's in her seventies, and has never actually *studied* the Bible and she learned how to do it. You don't have to deep dive to learn how to define a word or look up a cross reference verse in a study Bible. I was a baby Christian 13 years ago and I had to learn to study. Reading it is great!!! But please try not to stay there for too long. There is soooooo much treasure you can be missing out on ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    • @samanthalayton2978
      @samanthalayton2978 2 года назад +8

      Hi, Judy and Erin! My name is Samantha (obviously!) and I grew up in church and have been familiar with God's Word for as long as I can remember (I'm pushing 50 more than I'm pulling 40). I agree that there is tremendous value in reading it. My Bible app reads to me almost every night while I wind down for the day and mindlessly color. I've caught many things I didn't hear before, and each time through the Bible, I do learn more information. I got to the point in my life where reading (and hearing) it wasn't enough. I wanted to know what things meant, why some of the events were even mentioned (both horrifying and seemingly inconsequential), and understand God more. So I set out on a journey to learn more about Jesus. I wanted to be spoonfed, but couldn't find anyone online who I trusted to just teach me what I wanted to know. I found Nicki some time ago, and became a member of her study in the summer of 2020, I believe (time has become weird the last couple years), and I am so thankful. She didn't spoonfeed me like I wanted, but with time, I came to understand I didn't need to be. I'd heard about the inductive study method, which she teaches, but no one broke down the steps quite like her. Other study methods seem superficial and too easy to twist the Scripture into meaning what I want it to mean, not what it actually says. I know we can verse map cherry-picked verses, too, but with Nicki's consistent reminders that the Bible isn't about us, that's harder to do. Since learning to study the Word in context, I have been able to confidently leave a church where the pastor has blatantly twisted Scripture, avoid attending a different church where I recognize the pastor doesn't actually talk much about Christ but more about himself and stories he uses for illustration, and stop listening to false teachers who teach that the holy Word of God is not sufficient, among many more shame-filled confessions I could make.
      All this to say, reading God's Word has great value; it is a foundational building block of a Christian's life! But studying the Word provides so much greater knowledge, understanding, and intimacy with our Lord and Savior. It IS hard to read and understand, but not impossible. So if you can do just one thing a day to grow closer to the Lord, I encourage you to do it. Documenting your journey through a book like this could prove to be invaluable, for you and for future loved ones. Just take it slow, one day at a time. None of us will ever know everything the Bible contains, so always give yourself some grace, and keep the goal in mind: to know and love God more.
      God bless both of you, and I pray you will know His love for you in His written Word.

    • @nickidrake
      @nickidrake  11 месяцев назад

      The first Christians were recorded in the Bible, in Antioch. Plus the Bereans are mentioned. Paul writes to the churches in Ephesus, and Galatia, and more. Those are the first Christian’s and they did not do what the Catholic Church taught. I seriously speak this with so much care and kindness. Review their doctrines and creeds and find Scripture to support them.
